I used to b a disturbed, confused teenager. Self harming, while playing smile in your sleep. Such dark days they were. This song is so nostalgic nd painful. The scars still adorn my wrists and forearms. Im lucky my girlfriend is so understanding.
This song came out in 2005 when I was 16. I was listening to my chemical romance, Hawthorne heights, Green Day, good charlotte, escape the fate, motionless in white, Linkin park etc all those emo/ alternative bands back when I was a teen. and I never heard of or listened to Silverstein. It’s until now 2017 and now I’m 28. That I found out about this band through Spotify and now I’m in Love this with song and most of their songs. I could’ve been rocking out to this song at 16 but I’m doing it at 28. 😂😂😂 I still love my this type of music even though I’m getting old.
I know Silverstein has been a highly regarded band for many years, but I still don’t think enough people realize how great of song writers these guys are. And they’ve only gotten better with time, which is something a lot of bands from this era failed to do. They’re truly one of a kind
Slowly time passes by and creeps up on us from time to time. Now we understand what our folks were telling us about when they were listening to music and they thought that music was real music. Now we're telling our kids what real music is. Originality is where it comes from. Creativity is its place of origin but it has no beginning nor end. Because at that place in time you just have to live in the moment. Much love from an ex emo but maybe I'm still emo LOL. What's an emo always an emo.
I'll be 33 this year in August. Damn...time flys! Glad I'm sober! But I miss the chaos..sad to say! I don't even remember posting this comment hahaha if your under 30 just live your life with no regrets love hard fuck hard and enjoy the moment! They don't last forever!!!

Just coming here to relive my emo days. My 3 year old is asking me what I'm listening to😂
Me right now
Influence your kid though. He/she seems interested to this song. 🖤❤🤍
Haha mine keeps telling me to "turn the angry noise off" 😂
*That's why our babies smile in their sleep*
That's me right now! xD
Thank God no one’s here in 2024
This song will NEVER get old. That breakdown is legendary!
I used to b a disturbed, confused teenager. Self harming, while playing smile in your sleep. Such dark days they were. This song is so nostalgic nd painful. The scars still adorn my wrists and forearms. Im lucky my girlfriend is so understanding.
Same. Tbh if I hadn't have met my gf when I did we'd both be dead by now... Funny how life works
@@OrigenalDarkMew facts
Yeah same here tbh
This song came out in 2005 when I was 16. I was listening to my chemical romance, Hawthorne heights, Green Day, good charlotte, escape the fate, motionless in white, Linkin park etc all those emo/ alternative bands back when I was a teen. and I never heard of or listened to Silverstein. It’s until now 2017 and now I’m 28. That I found out about this band through Spotify and now I’m in Love this with song and most of their songs. I could’ve been rocking out to this song at 16 but I’m doing it at 28. 😂😂😂 I still love my this type of music even though I’m getting old.
dope.
J Escareno this was my shit when I was 16🤣 fck it least you like it now
What I discovered this band through a friend senior year 05 glad you did discover these guys I hate discovering a band later in the years
🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Old fart, lol
I know Silverstein has been a highly regarded band for many years, but I still don’t think enough people realize how great of song writers these guys are. And they’ve only gotten better with time, which is something a lot of bands from this era failed to do. They’re truly one of a kind
Throwback to the Victory records DVD 😂🤘🏻
ahhh....high school break ups were so loud back then...miss it
hello 10th grade all over again greetings from your older self in 2015
first year college for me.. 9 years ago.

shiiiet, I was in year 11 when I first heard this on TH-cam, one of the first songs by this amazing band! Been listening to them ever since!

I'm 37 now, and I first heard this song while playing MVP 06 NCAA BASEBALL on PS2 10 years ago. Lol
I used to turn the game on just to hear the song.
I knew it thanks .....that was a good game
mckenziesystem hahah too funny I played that game and hate this song just here for memories
mckenziesystem such a great game for the time. Easy to play and the ping of the metal bat still kills
mckenziesystem: OMG! Exact same here. This one, Swing Swing by All American Rejects, and the Hawthorne Heights track!
yeah believe that's how I first started listening to Hawthorne Heights
Silverstein….See you tonight!!! Waited so long for this day!!! Let’s get it!! #BelowTour #TheRave #Milwaukee
One of the best songs ever 🎉🎉🎉
I miss the early 2000s so much. Would see all the scene kids in the mall lookin like this
its hard to find good music like this nowadays. Back in the early 2000s we were swimming in overwhelming amounts of good music.
Very true 🤘
definitely. do you have any reccomendations?
quite frankly i think we took it for granted... silverstein was just another great band among a myriad of others! the selection was genuinely endless

When I listen to this I am filled with joy from the music and sadness that this moment in music is gone.
no man it will never die🤘
it's such a surreal experience listening to the music I used to listen to during my emo phase
My dad used to bump this album on the way to my baseball games to get me pumped, worked everytime
Rap or emo would blast through the player when my brothers would drive me to school.
Haha that’s badass, it’s such a dope album all the way too.
I first heard this when I was 10 years old. 15 years later, I'm still listening to this ❤️
Pinoy ka?
@@adillrafloresjr.1690 Yes po hehe
everyone in the comments taking about nostalgia, when i’m a 16 year old new to this type of genre and love it.
29...I'll be 30 on August 5th I still listen to Silverstein!!!
We're almost 31 now. Time flys!! We're living in a different state now.
I'll be 33 this year in August. Damn...time flys! Glad I'm sober! But I miss the chaos..sad to say! Man I had fun running a muck hanging out with dirty goth girls drinking doing drugs one night stands but now I'm a boss loving the straight and narrow but every now and again I come across a comment like this and think back to crazy nights. I don't even remember posting this comment hahaha if your under 30 just live your life with no regrets love hard fuck hard and enjoy the moment! They don't last forever!!!

If you told me when this song came out that 17 years later I would hear it live with Mike from TDWP during the breakdown, I would've laughed directly in your face. But here we are in 2022, one of the best concerts I've been to. Silverstein's glow up has been real
Here, 20 yrs later… and still looking forward to y’all;)
so much nostalgia. Brings back memories of high school.
To this day, this song still resonates with me.
"You lie through your teeth, you smile in your sleep.. smile in your sleep."
That verse just floods my head stuffed full of memories every fucking time.
Thanks random guy at mobile in forestdale for blasting this from your car in the lot close to 10 years ago. Makes a regular appearance on my playlists
Wasnt a phase... 28 now and Im proud of my 12 year old self for knowing good music.
Feels bad the generations after us will never experience music like us 90s babies

Sum 41, Silverstein , Hawk Nelson etc..,
When I'm lying in your bed
Play the motions through my head
You know that I'm thinking, I'm thinking...
And I have reasons to believe that
I'm not the only one you spend this time with, but I'll stay...
You say, you're weak,
You won't let me down,
You won't let me down.
You lie through your teeth,
You smile in your sleep,
You smile in your sleep.
When we met
You said we were the same,
You know that we're different, we're different,
And all the times you promised me that
Everything would work out in the end, you were gravely mistaken
You say, you're weak,
You won't let me down,
You won't let me down.
You lie through your teeth,
You smile in your sleep,
You smile in your sleep.
You lie, you lie, you lie, you lie
You lie through your teeth
You won't let me down,
You lie, I deserve better than this
I dream of steel. Maroon and warm,
Your end (your end), your end (your end)
You gasp for air.
I'll see this through, I'll see through you,
Your pale (your pale), your pale (your pale),
Your pale blue eyes.
When you're lying in your bed,
Your eulogy's been read
You know that it's fitting, you lie.
You say, you're weak,
You won't let me down,
You won't let me down.
You lie through your teeth,
You smile in your sleep,
You smile in your sleep.
You smile, you smile, you smile, you smile
I deserve better than this.
I love you
mvp
