Great video. Thanks for the walk around Newquay. It's my favourite UK holiday destination. Been coming down to Newquay from west Yorkshire for the past 40 years. Love it! Will be back in October when it's hopefully not as busy!

Glad you enjoyed it Natasha. I’m from West Yorkshire too originally but lived in Cornwall 21 years. Thanks for watching 👍

I was stationed at RAF St Mawgan for 2 years. Newquay was my hangout. In winter, the idea was to get known in every pub so the staff became our friends. Thus in summer when it was 10 deep at the bar all we had to do was signal from the back how many of us were there. Then push through to pick up our drinks and pay for them. We had a few tricks to secure our bar space too. It is amazing how much the town has changed since I was there in the 80s. Saliors arms was one of my haunts thought it looks different in this video. My fav bar was the Vic bar behind the central inn but I know that is long gone and the Wine bar which should have been shortly before the old bus station in this video. I couldn't spot it or what is now there.

The sailors seems to have a refurb every couple of years. Though bars are not as busy these days Newquay is still a popular place for the holiday makers. I can’t remember the wine bar but was probably too sophisticated for me back in the 80’s 😂

I remember Corkers too, and the 2 others they had in town, Corkera Quayside where Herd burgers is now, and Corkers Uptown opposite the Great Western 👍

Only just seen this. Cave used to be Bar Help, and Central Amisements back in the day

No thanks. I think I'll give it a miss. Fish & chips, gawdy amusements, shoddy architecture except for a few buildings. It's only saving grace is the beach, otherwise zero class.
