I've had a Neo 3 for several months now (purchased from Italy) and agree that the airflow is noticeably less than the Neo 2. As far as noise level my experience has been they are both about the same. They are both great helmets and you did a great job with your review.
Thank you so much for the kind words. I never felt it was not enough air but the 2 felt like it was blasting a small spot on the top of my head that I personally didn't care for.
I wear only Shoei full-faced helmets, currently wearing an RF-1400 and paid $625 for it at Cycle Gear in the Lehigh Valley. I trust only full-faced, NOT modular helmets (my personal opinion). I don't know who said it but if you have a $5 head get a $5 helmet.
Cracking good video mate. Best of luck to you.
I love the dollar 5 thing as it really is how you have to see it.
Great Review Bry. The Neotec 3 beside the Neotec 2 really shows the difference of the profile. Looks like the 3 is less bulky looking, and the lines are much smoother, too.
It is a lot of little upgrades but it adds up to a really nice upgrade.
Great review of the Shoei Neotec 3! The in-depth look at its modular design and touring features really highlights why it's a top choice for riders. The helmet’s comfort, safety features, and versatility make it a standout option for long-distance journeys.
Thanks for watching! It really is a lot more different then I expected
At that price, did you ever consider Schuberth helmets? They have come down in price considerably compared to 5 years ago.
I just reviewed their S3 but I have not tried the C5 yet.
I prefer a non modular but, that is a good looking lid!
I never thought I would like one but here I am :-) But I have a new non modular as well so stay tuned as it’s helmet upgrade season
Nice break down and a great looking helmet dude! I look forward to the follow ups
Much appreciated!
Running a neotec 2 I've been happy with it, on year two
Nice! Inhabe heard nothing but good things
me too boss
Awesome video as always sir, I’ve always had modular helmets, and love them
Seems I am late to the party
@@BryTheBiker at least you made it to the party my friend lol
I think the bigger question is is why the hell are these helmets $900. I’ve been helmet shopping lately and they’ve all got the stupid little flimsy plastic clips in the vents. it’s a fiberglass or carbon fiber shell with foam and some padding. $600 for an entry level Arai or Shoei with it quickly going to a cool grand is insane for plastic crap.
What helmet are you currently wearing?
@@walterhorn5567 I do agree with you that helmets are crazy expensive. Seems that all motorcycle gear is expensive. I think the reason that Shoei and Arai helmets are so expensive is that they are all handmade. Not saying that necessarily justifies the price. I recently bought the Shoei RF-SR for $399. It is a great helmet and I would recommend it.
HCJ just as good, half the price
The RF SR was my first Shoei was nice
No amount of money would stand in the way to save my noggin in a spill or accident.
Next video: why this $5999.36 helmet is a game changer. Don't ask me where that 36 cents came from 😅.
Doesn’t matter if it’s a game changer. Buy the helmet that fits you best.
100% why I talked about that in this video.
Thanking someone for selling you a $900 helmet...now I call that ironic...enjoy your Shoei...
I will for sure 🦈
Good review my friend! Looks like a great functional helmet! Price is relative. You get what you pay for and money spent on a helmet is worth it.
Thanks for watching ;-)
Great review Bry, I will take another look at the Neo 3. First look on line didn't impress , however your review answered my concerns .
Check out the link it’s a really nice helmet
I am a Shoei fan-boy. I use an RF-1400 and a Neotec II. Love them both.
I hear the 1400 is a good lid.
@@BryTheBiker… very comfortable. In fact it is more comfortable than the Neotec II.
I have heard that from a few folks
Definitely a modular guy, I'm running a HJC i90, but want to switch to a Neotec when I can.
I have heard a lot of good things about the i90 but have not yet tried one.
Does it leak rain water in?
@@rickyzoom8059 I haven't had any issues with water yet, and I've been in several downpours!
I bought the Shueberth and really wanted the Shoei, but it didn’t fit my head shape as well. Maybe the 3 will fit better.
Its funny how much shape difference there can be from brand to brand. What schuberth did you go with?
Jeez, just bought another visor set for my original Neotec (I) before the spare parts go out of production at the end of the year. So i can start saving $$$ to replace it in 5 years with the Neotec IV or V.
I never thought about them stopping production of parts
Good looking helmet and great overview! I've been shopping helmets for a little bit now. Time for a new one.
Helmet shopping is fun, but I struggle not buying them all
Great review Bry, good looking helmet, Shoei makes great stuff. So far I'm not too fond of the pin lock on my NeoTec2. I get some strange glare during the day, but it doesn't fog up. Overall I love the helmet, and the 3 will likely be my next when it's time to replace the 2.
I have pinlocks do that as well. I was nervous at first but in the past I hit them with some Plex to clean off the outside
Excellent review and overview, I have two neotec 2 currently and love them. Sounds like I need a 3 😅
It is a nice upgrade for sure. Seems a few of their models will be getting refreshes based on the sales I have seen.
The Shoei Neotec 3 is a modular helmet specially designed for touring. It features a design optimized for comfort and safety.
They did a really good job with it
Looking good brother. Congratulations on the weight loss. ❤️
Thank you very much!
I recently went from a neotec ll (XL) to a neotec lll (L)
The ll was more comfortable but it turns out that’s because it was way too big on me (could have come off in a crash!)
So having moved to the smaller size I can feel the pads more. Thankfully over time it hasn’t got uncomfortable.
The ventilation is better on the lll.
Is it worth it? Yeah, it is.
My only slight gripe is that the front vent is hard to find with gloves on - but if you use 2 fingers in a V shape it’s fine.
Nice helmet! I prefer half helmets [duh] but that's a good-looking modular :D
Open the lid, boom almost a half helmet
I’m sorry but after I heard $159 for the screen I couldn’t manage to pay attention. Doesn’t it prevent bugs from sticking or is it scratch resistant? I don’t understand. These helmets are supposed to be replaced every few years.
The shield is to darken the light and reflection
Saftey first with a $900 helmet. No thanks. I spent $600 on a Neo 2. With the savings you should add Dianese mesh jacket instead of a T-shirt (16:30) and be far more well served on a bad day.
But its like a year old now. Even the GT air 3 is a couple of months newer. And you can have an integrated sena build in it so that big chunk on the side is not necessary
Here in the states its only been out a few months and we atr still waiting on the air 3. unfortunately the built-in COM doesn’t work with the Harley Davison whim system so you do have to use an external comm
My wife loves her neotec modular. Btw, were both too old to play dyna bro.
Lol right? But that shield is just too cool :-) now if I can learn to wheelie :-)
Fantastic first look! Was your stunt double riding? Dude is Smelt!
lol, my stunt rider gave up after it forced him to buy a new bike :-)
Awesome review!
Thank you kindly sir
Dam bought the neo 2 two years ago for 800.
My wife got hers last year and loves it.
Game changer ? They’re too $$ to have to replace every 18 months
because most helmets can’t handle the heat ,
with people sweating so much ,
because obviously it’s just getting hotter & it kills the liners ..
the air holes haven’t increased in size for over 20 years ..
humidity is the enemy , had to resort to open face helmets in North Queensland Australia because of it ,
but they are so much cooler & less restrictive.
With it being that hot I can see why yob would need an open face.
I love Shoei helmets and wear a RF 1400 and Neotec 2, I like the Neotec but it is very heavy, wish they offered a carbon version but imagine what that would cost ! Lol...
That would be a wild Helmet if they did. It feels heavier when you pick it up but I really didn’t notice it as much on the bike. I hear the 1400 is amazing.
@@BryTheBiker If you sit in an upright or cruiser position I don't feel the weight but I cannot ride my sport bike leaned over with it, too heavy...
Makes sense for sure
Shoeis and Dixxons lol. Cool vid my man. 👍🏻
Appreciate it! Next time I need Dunkin
@@BryTheBiker the trifecta!
Hi there. On my 5th Shoei now. Been using a Neotec 2 for a couple years on my Triumph Bobber. It's a great helmet, aside from one major flaw. The catfish vent on the front shoots air up into my nose and my eyes so hard that I can't keep it open for long. It dries out my eyes and is really annoying. Has the Neotec 3 improved on this at all? Or is it still a blast of wind directly into your nose and eyes?
I wear glasses so I’m honestly not sure. I do find the nose guard makes the lower air flow nicer. And wow 5th Shoei is impressive.
I thought he was about to show. It had a HUD in the face cover. Nope.
That would be interesting
@@BryTheBiker it’s not impossible
I have seen some but never tried one. Would be cool to see a big name brand come to market with that
I currently have a schuberth c5. It's ok except for the helmet shaking all the bloody time. The helmet is aerodynamically pathetic. I am going to be getting a shoei neotec 3. Already decided.
Interesting, Dom can hook you up with the link below. I have never ridden in a C5 that is interesting
Great work bro, but get to the meat and potato’s quicker.
There was a lot to cover ;-)
I have one and ventilation ain’t that good
It is interesting they made changes to that.
First off stop pedaling products and get a real job! If people are interested in something they can go to the company website! For god sakes!!!!!!😅
But I have a real job :-)
