highly interesting concept and really great execution for a thing I can't even remotely wrap my head around, your creative capacity and stamina are something else! Great work as always man, highly inspiring
Thank you yo! I really want to make some tutorials in VCV rack in the near future. Be on the lookout for those! I'm happy you were able to learn from this video too.
Duuuuude that shit was fire. I was looking for something to spice up my things, dunno how I forgot about the VCV Rack. I remember when I first started I had a pirated version of Reason 4 and once everything clicked and I had a 4 bar loop that was it.... Definitely keep it up!
When you said using VCV Rack to make music is much more 'intimate' compared to your standard DAW, I understand what you mean now watching you use VCV Rack. Cause you're having to input all the pieces of equipment (e.g. Oscillators, Kick & Clap Generators, using Effect Pedals, etc). And then on top of that having to wire everything and direct input & output signals. You may have inspired me to try VCV Rack soon. 🤔😅 Good Job on this video GEN. (Was planning on watching this sooner 😅)
Aye that's definitely it for me - making each individual connection and tweaking every single parameter available makes it a lot more tactile and meditative for me than just using Ableton. No shade on Ableton at all though! Defo give it a go!
You don't understand how much pressure I felt and how much time I thought I lost cause of having to make each individual routing and all... I swear I was lucky that time!
What do you think/have you tried using this to generate wavetables for a DAW synth like Serum that you can add fx to and postprocessing and then scan the wavetable position for resampling?
That's great! Harnessing inspiration from techniques in other DAWs and softwares can be put to great use in your weapon of choice - that's how I learnt how to make many different genres after being inspired by many different techniques in different setups, from 70s to now. Big ups for you on that!
There's no winning or losing here, you can defo make quality than me in Ableton compared to what I can do in VCV; time limit never matters cause you can't rush art! I believe in you dawg!
i've tried to make riddim in vcv before and i failed miserably but you make it look so easy
Give it another go man! It's so much fun. I'm certain you can do it!

I have not yet tried or even thought about this but that's a really good idea! Will try someday, thanks!
I could never, shit looks confusing as hell. Super impressive stuff as always tho 🔥
Much luv as always to you man! Even though it looks confusing at the start, once you get into modular stuff, it's super fun!
