Exactly if you got push you don't need the pro. But the regular LP would be a great assist, or a travel companion. Push can get a little heavy haha. For launching clips and start/stop recording onto clips that LP has got you covered

It depends what program are you using for producing. I use FL Studio and FL gives note mode drum mode etc for every launchpad. For example I use note mode on Launchpad Mini MKII

There are also ordinary keyboards where you can set a scale and all the keys will stick to that scale (and mode, and transpose). Yet it's gonna take less time to actually play in C minor that learning those utility and switching all the time ;) Heck you can just place color tape on the keys.

Hey Anthony, Well you can use something like the Launchpad Mini to play sounds off your IOS device instead of a laptop.. but at the end of the day you'll technically always need something connected to your Launch Pad in order to hear sounds. No sounds can be stored on any of the launchpads.

So that happens when nothing is actually plugged into the launch pad pro. You can fake it by plugging something into the midi input or just plugging the launch pad bro into the wall. Essentially when your computer is asleep and not sending any signal but is sending it power

Mahlil I lose and replace so many of my cables, haha. Luckily the USB cable doesn’t really matter. Whichever one comes with the box is probably “the best” one to use with your Launchpad. But 99% of the time shouldn’t affect how it works.
That's awesome! i think by it not being hackable, is that Novation actually provides the script for the pro to make it way easier to "hack" but im sure there are scripts out there for the MK2

Can the Pro be used as a stand alone hardware sequencer?
I got a launchpad mini mk3 for Christmas, I'm really not to sure on it and I feel like I should send it back and get a normal mk2
the other modes in launchpad pro are not really necesary if you have external midi keyboards like radeon 49 for example.

There are now 3rd party sequencers to add to the Pro, this plus its midi out makes it a 'must have'.
Fact is price makes a huge difference so going for the mk2

Hey Lin! The MK2 has more of a “button” rather than a pad. But it’s not bad, you can easily get used to it

The launchpad MK2 are definitely more button like. The Pro has velocity sensitive pads and you can actually increase or decrease their sensitivity
