Thank you, Warren! It was really cool having you and your crew! It was fun to ride the Giant Viennese Ferris Wheel together! You know it was the first time for us as well ;) Hope everyone enjoys getting some insights into our daily work.
owning a few of your mics myself i must say that i really feel good about supporting such sympathetic guys like you... keep going. I hope you get the succsess you deserve...
You are very kind my friends Lewitt! Thanks ever so much for all of your amazing hospitality and yes, taking us up of the Ferris Well was incredible, it really meant a lot to me!!
Sounds like a company that is growing in leaps and bounds but still manages to maintain a humble mom & pop feel. Gotta love it. Thank you Warren. You never disappoint. Peter
It's so nice to see that there is a company (not a corporation) that cares this much. Something that was built from the ground up, values quality, holds firm to those beliefs, and makes such a fantastic product. I will be a customer. They will be stuck will me. Thank you for doing this, Warren.
Now having seen this, it’s obvious why all my Lewitts sound so good. The other companies spend their time trying to replicate 60 year mics and do so by purchasing generic capsules from China claiming that they inspect and select the capsules to assure their greatness. Lewitt on the other hand says let’s make our mics cutting edge with a very realistic sound, incredible specs, a practical build, and with practical features and to do so we’ll bring in engineers and PhD’s and buy a factory and make my own capsules to assure they are consistent and reproducible. Good luck competing with Lewitt. I hope their hard work and ambition makes them a billion dollars.
I own the 140, 340, 440 pure, and the 940. Every single mic is amazing and the price is a feature people often forget when describing the mics... Lewitt have very good pricings for their products... and this is one of the pillars for their success: Affordabilty paired with quality
Do you think it’s worthwhile owning both the 140 Air and a 440 Pure? I’d like to get a great acoustic guitar sound. I’m sure I could get that with a 440 but wondered whether there may be an advantage with the 140 Air. Thanks
@@ShiningHourPop i often record acoustic guitars with both, the 140 (not air) and the 440 pure. The 140 pointed to the git body beneath the neck and the 440 ppointed to fret 14-18 of the neck. Slightly paned L/R makes a great sound. But both he 140 Air and the 440 Pure alone will do their job perfectly. It's just colours to work with, when using both... or slightly pan L/R for a broader sound
I think Lewitt develop not only revolutionary products, but they also develop a new kind of revolutionary work environment! That is the place where creativity arises.
Thanks again Warren...I love that plosives test rig...5 hz speaker...lol...I always love the engineering guys and girls. Banging tour ...and it really shows how focussed they are. Big love to the Lewitt team ..thanks for the LCT540S ..truly amazing.
Love lewitt. Saw them at NAMM many years ago and just recently bought myself a Mac. I love it. Sounds so great. Now my next purchase will be the Match small diaphragm pair. To use as over heads.
Watching this now. Clever engineering prototyping in order to measure the parameters, and get repeatability. A Lewitt is definitely next on my "bucket list". Your video on recording an acoustic, using the LCT140, really got my interest started (in fact, I picked up a Yamaha LL series guitar, like you used in that video, only yesterday...lol). Love these videos and thanks so much for continuing to put them out there!!
@@LEWITT-audio Actually, I knocked that one off my bucket list today. Placed my order with your Canadian distributor for my LCT 140 Air, and he informed me that he is expecting a shipment from you to leave today!! Can't wait for it to arrive. Roman is just the OCD type person I want making my equipment. This post sold me on his produces. Great thanks to Roman and Warren. Mikes? 57's just starting to buy mikes and outboard gear.
I have a few Lewitt microphones here...640 TS, LCT 340, MTP 940 and the fantastic DTP 640 REX, which is hands down the best kick drum mic on the market today in my opinion. I use the microphones both live and in the studio and the 640 REX, MTP 940 and 640 TS are extremely versatile performers that are also tough enough to withstand the rigors of life on the road. Unlike many other kick mics the 640 REX is not a one trick pony that imparts a single, sound on every bass drum its used on. The dynamic and condenser capsules are perfectly in phase so the sound is sharp and not smeared, and the control switches on the mic allows you to tailor the frequency response of both capsules for the bass drum you're working with and for the sound you want, killer. The large diaphragm, condenser, multi pattern MTP 940 CM is really a studio microphone that is extremely comfortable and easy to use on stage, even very loud stages...it sounds great, clear and accurate as a Vienna church bell, provides plenty of gain before feedback, has great proximity performance and smooth off-axis sound, and no handling noise! It's head and shoulders above the other hand held condensers I've tested it against and with all the control features it can be tailored for any situation, great mic.
I have recently bought the 540 s I was looking to get the 640 but i was in a hurry purchase and bought the 540 but I have to say once i plugged in and got going in my session (vocals only) Wow !!!!!! I also have to add Warren and PLAP is where I first learned about the LEWITT company. I am amazed at the quality of the 540 s I am looking forward to trying out the 640 and the 1040. Nice interview and great product from Lewitt.
I have the 540 S and the 640 TS. I had previously spent a lot of time trying to find the right stereo setup for a featured acoustic guitar in an instrumental (i.e. one stereo acoustic as the feature instrument with other backing parts in mono or doubled). I had tried so many mic combinations and stereo micing techniques. While they all worked to some degree, none really did it for me. I set up the 540 and 640 in M/S and that was it. It was a beautiful, clean stereo image that I could easily mix. It also afforded me the ability to record doubled instruments with two mics (e.g. 540 + another LDC or the 640 with a different polar pattern) and have a nice stereo field there as well as needed and mix later. They are really clean, flat mics that lend themselves well for mixing at a great price, especially since I managed to find the pair for less than half price.
Ok well, I have been trying to resist buying a Lewitt but now I don't think I can stop myself! What a cool company and what cool CEO. It won't make me sing any better though... wait a minute! Maybe it will! Might make me practice a lot more!
Thanks Warren and Roman; great to have some insight into the gear we love using. As an engineer I'm always interested to learn how designers/manufacturers adopt new tech and methods to overcome traditional problems.
This is fantastic! Thanks to this video I feel confidence and indeed love, for Lewitt as a brand. Much how I like Aston mics, made by devotees of audio and music. I will definitively check out their mics. This is what makes TH-cam great! Thanks for your video Warren. Keep up the great work! It made me feel marvelously well!

I mostly grab Schoeps, Oktava's, Antelope Verge and the Lewitt's. Oh by the way, their service is great! I bought a 440 Pure from a pawnshop but it missed the ring to tighten the mic in the shockmount. Lewitt was so very kind to sent me one, many thanks guys! So happy! And after that service and hearing the great mic i got the 441 Flex and a pair of 140 Air's
Absolutely love your curiosity in everything Warren. I can only imagine that this sort of open sharing and transparency was what was in the mind of Berners-Lee when he invented the interwebs. Thank you for bringing passion to what you do and giving a wider platform to passionate people doing amazing things!
Warren, thanks for continuing to introduce me to gear I haven't heard of before. In an industry filled with so many options, it's great to get this kind of insight. Adding Lewitt to my shopping list!
Just got an upright piano into the studio, have been trying stereo pairs of Oktava 012 (good), AKG 314 (difficult to get phase right on spaced pair so x-y works best), Cascade Fathead ribbons (sound great around the back on the soundboard!) but sometimes on sessions I need to put the mic inside to avoid drum bleed. I think the 640 TS sounds like the ideal mic for the job. Its now on the list. Thanks, Warren for the great video and insight!
As always a great video! Thanks for all the hard work you and your crew does to share this with us all. Be blessed and well keep sharing your passion and your kindness . It's contagious.
I have the older design LCT 140 matched pair and absolutely love them. The only issues I've had is one of the clips stripping and the switches disintegrating. Easy fix. But the sound is amazing for the money. I usually use them live with a kick mic on drums, and that's all I need. I hardly need to EQ anything.
Well set up for rapid prototyping and evaluation. A lot of great work can be done with a shaker table and laser vibrometer. Their 0db chamber is impressive.
I thoroughly enjoyed this all the way through. Such great personalities and warm interaction. Definitely picked out my next mic purchase (or two). Mostly for acoustic guitars but I'm thinking LCT 040 MATCH to start with. Now to sell a few things to buy a few... lol
I don't have any Lewitt mics yet. I have a few of the ones I'd been after since before I knew about Lewitt but now I'm mostly done and when I determine my actual needs when my studio happens (it's been so long) I will be looking to Lewitt.
Thank you for this interesting contribution, Warren. Lewitt seems to be a great company and I like their philosophy and the spirit expressed in the video. Working for an innovation and technology department of a large company, I understand Roman's motivation too well that made him want to do his own thing. One day, hopefully in the near future, I will own at least one of their amazing products :-)
Hey Warren and Roman! Thanks for the video. I am living in Vienna and at the moment I am using 440 pure, but I am seriously considering to increase my Lewitt collection.
Awesome as always! My next purchase is going to be a Lewitt mic, after hearing all the wonderful endorsements from you and Glenn, it has made me decide I need to try one too. Can't wait to try it!
Warren, I don't mean to be critical, but I'm trying to get some work done here and it's really hard when you keep posting up all this good content. Tone it down a bit, eh.
Very impressive, I love the enthousiasm for what they do. The care for a cup of tea is a great signal. 😃 But it's great to get good input from a microphone. I am curious to know which amp and speaker system is used to test the output-quality?
Fascinating video Warren and the team! Wonderful to see how the whole place works together and their approach to custom building test equipment! By the way was that Kasia sneaking past at 3:37 ? Maybe not her but I Remember you said she does photography haha
Always a great and insightful interview and tour Warren! Loved it! I am researching microphones specifically for podcast style and I really like the Lewitt brand. Would the 640TS be good for that type of need or is there another Lewitt model built for such purpose?
The 640 TS is a great choice for podcasts. We've received great feedback on the LCT 440 PURE as well from the podcast scene. Podcastage did also a nice review with the LCT 440 PURE. This is a question of budget, and if you want to use the features, that can come handy.
I bought my mics (Rode NT2, AKG C1000S, Shure SM58) a few years back, and looking back, and also at what's on the market now for the prices I paid back then, you can see how much development has gone into the technology and, in truth, in material sciences, too. Because you paid so much homage to the 640 TS, I got a desire on; I looked at the price, and I can't really justify the expense atm, even though I know it's excellent quality at a low cost, but then I found an LCT 140 Air @ £135, the LCT 440 @ £210, and the 040 Matched pair @ £170, sheesh! I could buy all of those for £65 more than I paid for my mics nearly 20 years ago - I don't know if they can sustain such low-end prices, so I might have to grab me something while they're there - oh dear, here we go again
Yeah, we're living at interesting times technology wise! Let us know your thoughts on the mics if you'll end up buying them. We always appreciate feedback, since it helps us to make even better mics!
Cool company! Nice to know that there's people out there who will sit down and do a good job on things using common sense, rather than trying to keep doing the same old things over and over again.
Love hearing about my favorite microphone company! I have 2 LCT 240 pros, 2 LCT 540 originals and a LCT 550. Do any of these mics use the "Perfect Match technology" that the new 540 s does? It is hard to find information on the 540 and 550 since they have been discontinued. Will I be "safe" using them for a stereo pair at all? Thanks!
I don't own any Lewitts, but I it's time that I do. I'm a major Beyerdynamic fan. I have the MC 840, M 201TG, TG 70d, and my very special ribbon M 160. I love ribbon mics; I'll never say no to having more ribbon mics. In addition to the M 160, I have a Shure KSM313 which is just incredible! My two newest acquisitions are an Electro-Voice ND46 and an ND66. I also have: a Shure Beta 56A and a 545SD; an Audix i5; an AKG D 690, and a bunch of D 790s.
Happy to read that! And no, we won't do that for sure. We believe that everyone should be able to achieve professional recordings at an affordable price!

For some reason, I always thought that Lewitt was an Australian company! Probably glanced once at where they were from and that's what my mind registered. I can be thick at times.
Hi Warren, I have the Lewitt pure 440, bought it from Thomann.de last year..But as an academy member: is it possible that people from Europe can have the same discount (So that Lewitt Audio headquarters can sent us our bought mics, for example). Just an question if thats possible..;) And what about endorsements, do they have room for that too?? I,m curious man... Cheers, Jeroen.
Another thing for the Pro mix academy: Why not create a course for musicians on marketing (in depth), so young musicians can learn from an plus hours of content course how to deal with that... i think a lot of people can benefit from that...My 2 cents again...;)
Even a step further could be: mindfulness for musicians: How to get in flow state, have a small ego, being productive with an overkill of thoughts, how to balance all elements of our lives with a creative profession, how to deal with external stimuli if you are a high sensitive person/ADD...etc.......

Let me play the devil's advocate here for a moment... Those mikes are assembled in China and I didn't read any comment about that. Is it a debate to avoid?
Hi CTNB_pH the reason I believe that Lewitt’s quality is so high is because they own their factories. Many manufacturers are having their mics assembled in the same factory as several other mic manufacturers. Lewitt’s Factory only makes Lewitt mics.
@@Producelikeapro Hi Warren, thanks for your answer. I really enjoy your channel. As a matter of fact, I don't mind too much about where that gear has been built. It's all about trusting the brand's QC and those guys at Lewitt seems to be really good at it. I do buy chinese stuff (except tea... only Earl Grey!). The point is that the former videos you published showed us manufacturers proud of having their gear built in Germany or in the USA. I'm not a guy too much concerned about geopolitics, and I guess you neither... So what? Well, I discovered Produce Like a Pro not that long ago and I really dig it. You've got such a devoted audience, I'm really impressed. I'd really enjoy to read comments built on technical arguments and discussions and I'm pretty sure you might feel the same. But that's the way it is (nowadays?). My comment was raised to be a debate starter but I missed my goal. Only you and Lewitt got along with it and I really appreciated to read the both of you. Anyway, to tell you the truth I almost ordered a pair of Lewitt matched mikes but I'm kind of broke and my AKGs P170 are good enough for my humble needs. I just hope I didn't annoy anybody pretending to be the devil's advocate. I'll be a good boy and I won't insist trying to wake up the Produce Like A Pro community (but maybe you could?). Thanks ever so much!
I don't have any Lewitt mics yet. I have a few of the ones I'd been after since before I knew about Lewitt but now I'm mostly done and when I determine my actual needs when my studio happens (it's been so long) I will be looking to Lewitt.
Thanks for your interest! Please let us know your thoughts on them... have amazing recordings in your new studio!
Many thanks for your amazing feedback! Happy you enjoyed the office tour and thanks for your support!
Hey Warren and Roman! Thanks for the video. I am living in Vienna and at the moment I am using 440 pure, but I am seriously considering to increase my Lewitt collection.
Thanks ever so much my friend! That's wonderful to hear! Vienna is beautiful!
@@Producelikeapro I have to thank you, Warren. I learned so much from your videos and the Pro Academy courses. THUMBS UP!!!
@@Phi-delity thanks ever so much! Happy Christmas!
Awesome as always! My next purchase is going to be a Lewitt mic, after hearing all the wonderful endorsements from you and Glenn, it has made me decide I need to try one too. Can't wait to try it!
That's fantastic Zack!
I just bought my first lewitt microphone and it sounds amazing. I cant wait to perform on stage using my 350 CM!
Warren, I don't mean to be critical, but I'm trying to get some work done here and it's really hard when you keep posting up all this good content.
Tone it down a bit, eh.
Haha thanks ever so much Graeme!!
Very impressive, I love the enthousiasm for what they do. The care for a cup of tea is a great signal. 😃
But it's great to get good input from a microphone.
I am curious to know which amp and speaker system is used to test the output-quality?
Very cool, Warren! I would love to see an updated tour!
Great insights, again. Look what a few people with an idea can achieve.
Hi Peter Brandt I agree 100% my friend!
Interesting, Great Video. Recently bought a Lewitt LCT 940, brilliant microphone.
Great bunch of folks building a business from the ground up!
LEWITT thank you! I'll check further into both.
Love, love, love these backstories : )
Thanks ever so much Sheila!!
I'm learning a lot with these episodes, thanks!
Hi Pablo! Thanks ever so much my friend!
Cool company! Nice to know that there's people out there who will sit down and do a good job on things using common sense, rather than trying to keep doing the same old things over and over again.
Pretty cool in the recording industry you can have all these mic manufactures and they are all successful with no competition.
Hi Lars, I agree! It's a truly wonderful time top be making music!!
I'l love to get a 640TS - always looking for new ways to mic a piano!
Yes! You will love them!
Very very cool! Awesome tour and interview! Lewitt Rules!
Hi Eric, Thanks ever so much my friend!
How romantic does Warren make miking up a piano sound like?...lol
haha thanks ever so much my friend!!
Thanks!
Do you own any Lewitt Microphones? (if not) what are you using? :)
I love my Lewitt LCT 140.I use them for acoustic guitars and drum overheads.
Got a nice pair of LCT 440 Pure and a matched pair of LCT 340 with both capsules, excellent for my sampling and ambience recording obsession. :)
Im using MXL Cr89 and Sterling the ST77 for my vocals Great mics! Great results! I even put them on kick out position! and they`re flawless and uniqe
Looking for a new ribbon mic ...
Yes! 640 TS - love it!
Thanks ever so much my friend for your wonderful detailed comment! I appreciate you sharing your experiences with us!

To have an Lewitt Audio-Interface would be great! :-)
Yes!! Agreed!!
Great video! Impressed with this company and it’s products
Marvellous! Me too!!
Would love to have a set of these mics. May actually happen since they are reasonably priced. PLEASE don't raise the prices with success guys.
Happy to read that! And no, we won't do that for sure. We believe that everyone should be able to achieve professional recordings at an affordable price!
Devin Underwood I know they are committed to keeping their prices low!
Telefunken Firecracker / Great for vox but use it for every thing / So much info on these vids its hard to keep up
Part of my regiment / get Home Enter the Man Cave / Crack a Beer / Watch the latest episode of PLAP. Your Hair Do was Marvelous in this Vid !!!!
Thanks ever so much my friend! Great to hear your experiences!
I don’t own any but i’m interested in their 7 part drumkit set. Mainly for the dual capsule kick mic and the matched pair condensers
You'll be very impressed!
Damn it, I could have been in a Warren Huart video, but had to attend a meeting. At least my guitar made it.
Thomas K.T. Haha nice! I’m assuming you work at Lewitt?
@@Producelikeapro Yes, I even had a shower in the morning and worked on a nice punchline to drop in case you would walk by my desk. Well, I save it for next time. Thanks for dropping by, was an honour!
Thomas K.T. Haha I’m glad you showered! Have a marvellous time in Vienna!

New item on the wish list; Lewitt 640TS.
Great choice!
You'll be very happy!
Lewitt in German is pronounced the same as Levitt is in English.
GREAT! Warren! Thank you!
Perhaps a visit to another company next.
Indeed! However they choose an English sounding name and pronounce it that way.
That table is no joke!
Fantastic really looking forward to mikes email for a matched pair of the 040's
Marvellous!!

I don't own any but I wish I did! I haven't forgotten what I've been hearing with all the trying out here! 😃
Very nice! Thank you Roman, and Company, and Warren!
Hi Audrey! Thanks ever so much my friend!
Still no , but I plan to buy some Lewitt mic for recording my acoustic guitar
Mike Nova wonderful!!
Always good interviews Warren, But this time we don't see any products being made!
Hi Fred, this is where the products are designed! Thanks for the comment!
I would love to own some Lewitt mic's, I currently do not own any Lewitt mic's.
Hi Eric, thanks ever so much my friend for your great comment!

No Lewitt mic... Yet
Panacea Studios nice!! Yet!!
I always thought Lewitt were made in China.
Let me play the devil's advocate here for a moment... Those mikes are assembled in China and I didn't read any comment about that. Is it a debate to avoid?
Not for us ;) Is there something particular you're interested in regarding that topic?
At the same time, I also discovered what it means to be an "influencer", a quite new concept for me. And as it seems, you're a total "influencer", my friend. So, keep on doing your stuff like you do, as i said: I really enjoy your channel. Thank you for sharing your experience, knowledge and time with us.
At this point, I use AKG Mics. I would like to give Lewitt a try.
Thanks ever so much Joe!
