  • Another great ride with Pastries.cc up to the northern beaches. We were treated to a spectacular day which was beaten only by the even better company. In this video I showcase the route we took up to Palm Beach as well as my favourite bakery in the northern beaches; Rollers in Manly. If you like riding your bike you defintely need to check out some of these spots especially the newly revamped North Head which has some epic views of Sydney harbour with the backdrop of the city.
Hope you're enjoying the vids, chuck a like and subscribe to support the channel! Thanks :)

New subscriber. Im not a roadie but a mountain biker. Grew up on northern beaches, now live on north coast. You guys are crazy at full speed down Newport and the Spit hill 😯. Give me a downhill mtb track in the forest any day.👍🏻

Been riding solo 99% of the time since I started cycling in Sydney (1% I tried joining a group ride and got dropped and lost like a total newbie I was) and I must say the satisfaction of completing your route + seeing the fantastic views makes it totally worth it!

Thanks for the comment, finding a group to join can be hard so I sympathise with you.

Mems 😢 the views and weather on point. Combination of the company, park up location and location makes up the ride.
This route hit the trifecta perfectly 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Going to miss you too brother! 🫶🏽 will be watching you from afar!

man that weather looked beaaaaautiful... almost as beautiful as the scenery! For me I think the perfect ride depends on company, route, views, and the coffee at the end, in that order. That said, nowadays I mainly do solo rides which I don't mind too.
That was a big group that day! Nice to see you guys know how to look after newbs... groups of seasoned cyclists whizzing past can be intimidating to newbs.
Great editing and song choice as usual! I was smiling like that lady at 4:36 throughout the whole vid!

I agree with you. You can do a very mundane ride, but if you have a good group of friends you’re with it makes all the difference.
Trying very hard to make the group more inclusive for newer riders. Trying to implement some easier weekday rides for them to join too.
How can you not smile when the sun is shining and the views are that good. ☺️

It was! Getting in all the autumn rides before winter comes. That being said, winter in Sydney isn’t too bad either. Gets down to single digit degrees but once the sun is up it’s usually around 15 degrees.

      @joshkwan  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

In the theme of French pastries: if slow is 'escargot', fast is "pain au chocolat" then the middle should be "croissant".

I prefer to ride Pittwater road very early, or with a larger group for better visibility.

    • @JonathanBays

@@joshkwan Going against the traffic early works but on the turnaround it builds up fast and Wakehurst parkway even more dodgy driving there. Try and convince the local NSW police road patrol to do a passing distance compliance operation but well no interest there.

Sadly I think it’s low on their priority list. This is the kind of thing which only see’s action after a big accident.

Disappointed to hear you’ve had such bad experiences riding in Australia. I’ve only ever ridden in Sydney and the surrounding regions. I’d love to ride in Netherlands or other countries which have built up cycling infrastructure as well as drivers who respect cyclists.

@@joshkwan I am well used to lived here for 40 years now in Melbourne and Sydney and not bothered personally because I am conditioned to it. It bothers me that it puts off new riders and children from riding to school and so on and is generally bad for society where we allow over entitled people who operate large dangerous vehicles on license not to abide by the law or even have the common sense and empathy to share the road. Rant over rains stopped out for another ride.🤣
