    Ok I've had a Credit One card for 3 years. ALWAYS paid my balance in full therefore I never had any issues & my scores increased. A form of credit & having enough for a credit utilization ratio is crucial in building credit, take the offer if you get it & be responsible with it. The apr doesn't even matter when you're not carrying over balances geez.

However, from first impressions, it is a lot better than Credit One’s other cards and may be acceptable for someone just starting out, building credit or as a product change option if you have another credit one card.

    Most likely American Express told Credit One that if you want to use our good name on a credit card then you have to have these MINIMUM STANDARDS. Most likely Credit One wanted to offer an American Express card and these benefits of the Card was definitely insisted upon by American Express or American Express probably said if you do NOT offer these MINIMUM standards then we American Express will NOT give you license to use our name and our payment network I bet Visa and MasterCard did NOT have such standards.

      @Shawn S Thanks for your comment. I've had this card for a while now and haven't seen an increase. I've been offered other cards through Credit One but I'm not too crazy about them as a bank. On the other hand I've had great success with Petal and JPM Chase and have obtained over 6k in credit. Some banks are just more about getting you there and others are about keeping you in a controlled corner is what I've learned. I have been paying off the AMEX every month because that's how I understand AMEX to work, but you're right. That is irrelevant here. Thank you for your suggestions and helpful advise.

    Okay so for instance if I make a purchase of $300 and my minimum payment is $25 a month , if I just keep paying off the minimum every month and not paying the $300 in full at the end of the month it was used I will be charged interest?

  • @MichaelSmith-iy6cw
    @MichaelSmith-iy6cw 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Basically the credit one card I had said you will be charged interest as soon as you swipe. Meaning pay as soon as your charges post. Keeping your utilization at 0% aka meaning the card is useless to someone who dosent have the funds to pay right away. Just buy gas once a month and pay it back then sit it in your dresser to keep your utilization low and use your other credit cards

    Wonder how they handle CLIs. And if there are any product change options.
    Otherwise it seems like a dead end card with no future-proof capability. If I could increase the CLI with a soft pull on a regular basis, then this MIGHT be something to add to my for life cards. Or if I could product change to a more useful card (if they even exist with this bank). But if I can do neither of these, then there's really nothing interesting here.

    Any one bashing a financial Banking institution clearly do not understand, that any and I mean any financial Banking institution are not in the business of losing money. They are in the business of making money. If you lack financial literacy a credit card, a loan, a bank account etc. Will not be in your best interest. You are better off exchanging for needs or wants with cash only. Shlama

    Shifu, they can't sue you when you are not causing defamation. What they do is indeed atrocious in many levels while reviews can be viewed online so it's hilarious if they have the balls to litigate at all.

    • @TheCreditShifu
      @TheCreditShifu  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that’s right. What they actually sent me a letter for was trademark infringement. But for it to be trademark infringement it has to cause “confusion” that I am selling their product, but since it was a very critical review, there was definately no confusion. I read that companies often use this way to scare small bloggers into taking down critical reviews (they had first complained to youtube, but youtube wouldn’t remove it)

    When I saw that credit one had an American Express card, I was like wtf!?
    Credit One is a subpar inferior credit card company but yet American Express is basically the luxury Cadillac of the credit card brands. So yeah that definitely does not look right nor sound right that credit one is offering an American Express card.
