I'm really tempted too. Was gonna get the EM but I like the temp feature. I have another month or two to save so still time to decide. Did you get it yet?
Hello! Thanks for this great review. I got a question though: to reduce the waiting time to get a milk based drink, pulling the shot should come first and then continue to heat up the water for frothing the milk. Do you think otherwise? Thanks!
I am interested in the 41tem but am concerned about the 57 mm portafilter. It is not standard and read that upgraded 57 mm tamper will not work with it.
Yes you do have a little less accessories to buy but there are 57mm tamper as well as the original lelit with 57.35mm and also you can get some 57.5mm tamper. Many people tell that the Motta 58mm tamper fit perfectly because they are a little smaller than 58mm and the lelit portafilter is a littler taller than 57mm. So I think for that price you can't get a better machine. And when the only "problem" is less accessories but the machine makes a great coffe - I would go for it.
Can you Please do a comparison between the Lelit Glenda, Rancilio Silvia, and Bezzera New Hobby? They seem very similar in price point and features (aside from the Glenda's PID). I want to learn how steam power, build quality, parts availability stacks up.
Silly question but the old Anna 1 Pl41LEM? Had these awesome blue LED's. Are they availible as spares? I'd like to retrofit the Anna 2 with them. They would fit nicely with the blue screen from the PID.
Great video! I bought the lelit PL42TEMD (with built in grinder) 6 months ago and couldn't be happier, I absolutely love it! There's something that concerns me though, and maybe you guys can help me out. I bought this machine in Germany (I'm studying here) but I'm going back to the US in April. I was thinking on taking it back home and buying a 2,000 step up transformer which will give me the 220v I need, but I'm worried about the frequency (50 to 60 hz) do you guys think this will be a problem?
That will not going to be a problem. The machine will work with both frequencies - 50hz or 60hz. You will not notice any difference. Years ago I did the same thing that you are going to do - I brought a coffee machine from Europe to the USA and used a step-up transformer and everything worked fine. Just make sure you have enough power on the transformer. The heating element can be really powerful.
@@yevgeniydundukov8179 Thanks for the reply buddy. I can confirm what you said, I'm currently using my Lelit with a Bronson ++ 2000w transformer and it works exactly as it used to when I was in Germany =D
They are basically the Lelit Fred built in. Get the one without and get preground at a coffee shop until your wallet has recovered for a grinder. I heard lots of Anita owners regert they hadn't gone with the Anna or Grace since sson enough you'll want to upgrade the grinder. It's not awful but not great either. The machine itself is identical. You can still get the Fred, it's pretty cheap and later resell but I'd just save the extra 50-100 bucks for a Mignon Manuale or a Barazza or Sage Dose Control
@@221b-l3t Thank you for your heads-up but that led me to another question and that is: what is the difference between Anna and Grace (I know they are both lovely;-)?
@@user-eq1hc7ny5c Well the Grace has more features. It has more control etc. It's basically the Victoria with 250 ml boiler instead of 300 ml and a 57 mm portafilter. Where I live it's well priced but I went with the Anna. I just like the more oldschool style with fewer electronics. It gives you a lot of control that way too. Wish you could set the steam temp on Anna like Grace (and stupidly Anita can do it too). Coffee wise I think they are identical so depends on what you like in a machine. But I figured even if I upgrade some years down the line the Anna will still be a great machine for the office or so. Glenda is great too but no pressure gauge on the PID version. Inalmost bought that and a pressure gauge because that is a super easy mod. But would have voided the warranty and I found a 57 mm IMS basket (at AVX I can send you the model number) so I went with the Anna and a Eureka Silenzio. All but the machibe has arrived lol. I suppose I can try the Eureka with my DeLonghi but I don't want the 6 euro/kg coffee touching it :)
@@user-eq1hc7ny5c But I very nearly got the Grace or the Victoria but I thought it's my first machine and I keep hearing the coffee is comparable to a much more expensive one prpvided a good grinder so it was a great deal at 435 euros for the PL41TEM. Bit yes I had to order from 3 places to get all the 57 mm stuff, paid a bit more shipping but not too bad. Also what I liked less about the Grace/Vic they geared more towards consumer than prosumer but can accomodate a prosumer. The Anna is just a pure espresso machine no bells and whistles awesome for zhe hobbyist. And if I had gotten the Victoria.... why not save another month and just get the MaraX... endless price creep. I have worked at a coffee shop so I don't mind the the more manual types of machines that need a bit of TLC. For instance Grace and Vic can backflush automatically and also automatically fill the boiler after steaming. But I'm used to doing that manually anyway.
It has to be specifically an espresso grind. Otherwise you need to get a pressurized basket which is more forgiving with regards to grind but the results wont be the same. But then maybe you should consider something like the Breville/Sage The Barista Express instead
If you intend on using pre-ground coffee, you can save a lot on the espresso machine, you don't need these, there's really no benefit. Good grinder and FRESH coffee is the most important thing.
Its funny it starts with a manometre then manometre + PID added and the 3rd only has PID.. 😅 i thougnt upgrade meant to add features on top of the existing one to make the machine more complet
All costs of materials, freight, production, and components have gone up. The manufacturer does not manufacture every component. They have them produced and the machines pieced together. For this reason, the cost of goods on the manufacturer’s end going up, so too does it go up on the consumer’s end.
It really is a bit disappointing that the glenda, being the best machine in the line up doesn't have a manometer for brew pressure.
Exactly! And why is Lelit making 57mm PF? Makes no sense.
Totally!
Yeah it makes no sense. That manometer is important.
I think Lelit remove it, because the PL41PLUST competes against the PT81 and PT91.
The one in the middle is the one im getting as you can change temp. That was a really good explanation of the models.
I'm really tempted too. Was gonna get the EM but I like the temp feature. I have another month or two to save so still time to decide. Did you get it yet?
What is the reason for making a portafilter in 57 mm in this line of prosumer machines? As I see it, it looks like a disadvantage.

Will you make a review for the Kate model? Thanks
Thank you. Finally, what are the criteria that have an impact on coffee quality ?
How is the lead leaching on these with the brass boilers? Any tingling or joint pain etc?

I think the Manuale is called the Notte in the US. No fancy touchscreen or timer but largely identical to the much more expensive Specialita.

are these actually made in Italy or just designed there?
made in canada lol At least thats what i see. I think they are just designed italy
@@Jack_Hunt I am a bit obsessed :)
@@kamyarakhavan9495 by what? making espresso? If so i'm the same lol
According to lelit they are 100% made in italy...
why Lelit put a black plastic at the front panel of the tray, which make the machine looks so cheap and ugly!
Why did the prices of all these machines suddenly go up? These machines look great, but a sudden hike in price is kind of alarming.
