You can easily tell if it's a one chip if there are three "solder points" when you look under the expansion port, also they are almost never yellowed. Kind of looked like the one you had in your hands was a one chip :)
wowsers is there pics online? i know other way to tell newer/older snes chipset, older snes chipset had "EJECT" printed on the button in white text, while the other was braille/raised in grey = later system so if u see eject in white thats def not a 1 chip@@nesfrk
thought that was the zelda famicom stash case, where it looks like a cart but its a storage case you can stash stuff in. I have the wrecking crew one like this. But after seeing it was oversized i knew it was something else as these stash cases are identical size to famicom carts so they can blend in on the shelf..until you pull them out and realize theres no PCB slot
at 2:07 looks like phantasy star 1 and 2 online. WHAT A GAME. also goes for like 65 dollars CAD (6800 yen) complete in box. the US version of it goes for about 300 CAD CIB which is insane
Good eye! I reviewed the raw footage and it’s as you say: Phantasy Star 1 and 2 bundled with the broadband adapter! Although I’m unsure of the price or if it’s complete. Cheers!
Curious if PS Vita and Switch games would be arranged at all Book Offs or just at this particular store? I was more amazed on the amount of snow outside. Haven't seen that amount in years! Great video JJ!
Snow in japan is always a strange time. Lot of Japanese manga and anime don’t show that as much.
Being in the snow was wonderful. I got a couple more snowy videos on the way, cheers!
*great video sir! ¥5000 for Super Metroid & Final Fight 3 is very cheap I would get it if I was in Japan* 💡

Right on, thanks for the info!
is it only like this on superfamicom or snes NA systems too?
@@BanditsBest686 I've seen it on all regions
@@RetroReWire also I've seen yellowed consoles with replacement motherboards, so it can be found in yellow ones also. Just more rare.

Omg man i went to this exact hardoff in the snow back in feb 2023
Did you have any pickups at this spot?
Can't wait to see the underpass video! Looks interesting down there.
Coming soon, stay tuned!
12:25 Good job showing an example of how insane the price differences can be. Same game but somehow the Surugaya price is over three times higher.
Love the calculator.
Me, too!

I initially thought it was some kind of case, too. It definitely had my attention when I first spotted it. Cheers!

Do you ever see Vita TV consoles? Were they popular in Japan? I am not sure if I should pick one up in the UK or in Japan.
I see them quite often. In fact, I spot four in this video:
th-cam.com/video/t9MlJX7D5Y0/w-d-xo.html
They can be seen around the 29th minute. Cheers!
cool sushi stuff and a decent selection of games but you have shown us way better stuff in the past..not bad at all though
I agree, there’s been better in the past. Overall this Hard OFF has a solid foundation of beginner stock. More to come, cheers!
A calculator!? Didnt expect that haha! Very cool find, JJ!
Haha, it certainly was a nice surprise! Cheers!
Adam! First time watching a Retro ReWire video.
@@ianhobbies Nice to see you here! I guess you're here to stay as well. JJ is the man!

The arrangement will vary, but it seemed to be the norm that new games be on the book off side in Sapporo. Cheers!
Great video bro, always enjoy them :)
Cheers!
Hey JJ great video as always! What would you recommend to check the average price online to compare when in the store?
I’ll compare stores prices with Mercari. Price charting and eBay are also good options. Cheers!
Great video as usual, do you know if the hard off website lists all products or can you still find things not listed at the stores?
They only list a small portion, and there are some stores that don't list any products online. Cheers!
@@RetroReWire ahhh good to know! also makes it more fun not knowing what you're going to get
Nice tee
👍
26:40 That's a lot of otome games!
I didn’t expect to see that many!
A lot of those came out on the switch in the last couple years. There's a ton of VNs on the switch nowadays.
Is it safe to say that the Switch is in the lead with regard to VN releases? The PSP has quite a few, too.@@kevinwebb82
I'm not sure but it definitely seems that way the ps vita had a bunch but think the switch will beat that this year.
your choice in background music is immaculate
Cheers!
which Hard/book of would you recommend to get complete wii u?
In this very video I spot one at GEO for ¥5900 and CIB!
Which branch is this? Can you pin on a map?
Sure thing:
