    I enjoy the way Alex walks you through a boat. He presents them well, knowledgeable, comfortable with the camera and easy to listen to.

      Yes agreed, a very good presenter.

    Nice boat. Love that they give good chunk of space to the kitchen. If you are spending a weekend on board then a small kitchen if fine, but if this is your home away from home you need a good place to cook.

    Excellent tour and test. Prestige know what an owner is looking for in a boat. Great work Alex, can't wait for your next video.

    Brilliant video Alex, top notch!
    I really like the boat; designed and built for a purpose and it seems to deliver on the brief.

    There’s a lot to like here not least of which is the way Alex presents his video tours. Really top notch stuff. The boat is pretty good too. I especially like the master cabin but I’m not convinced that covering the engines and creating storage voids above them is conducive to regular mechanical checks of oil and water strainers for example.

    Great video also. Well done sir, and your editor and camera man.

    Nicely laid out if even a bit narrow for a power catamaran. Should be fun to live aboard for a couple and occasional guests!! Love the idea that the 2 guest cabins can be slid together to make a double or not and the idea of the day head is brilliant !!

    Great review Alex, however would have liked a bit more in depth look at the galley and I have noticed in other reviews that this boat has quite a lot of roll when at anchor so a gyro stabilizer would be on my wish list.👍

    I think that the concept is great, I like the 3 x cabin, fuel efficiency, the flybridge is practical. The rear storage fantastic. I agree with some of the comments that some of the features look a little cheap. However this is Hull 1. I would like to see drop down TV in main deck and each bedroom. In the bedroom they should be placed in the middle of the beds. The toilet and showers seem fine. For the price, space and fuel I can see why you loved it.

    Very nice “Motor Cruiser” Alex…… obviously it has the legs and stamina for offshore work, but seems ideally suited for family pottering on rivers and estuary’s, great accommodation and lacks that “cross channel ferry” feel that spoils (in my opinion) a lot of larger power cats.
    I could see myself bobbing about on that, if I stumble over the odd £million or two 🙂🇬🇧

  • @ironichumorist
    @ironichumorist ปีที่แล้ว

    excellent tour. interestingly both leopard and aquila both raised the bridge deck on their newest models to address the pounding and sneeziing from a lower tunnel design. i suspect as prestige refine their cats they will do the same.

  • @KimCJorgensen

    This is a lovely power -cat, BUT, I don't get why some builders insist of taking away the advantage of a nice, wide cat-hull by trying to go for some kind of wide-beam mono-hull look. I used to have Lagoon Power 43 which was 2:1 length to beam, like they should be.
    This boat should be close to 7 meter wide,, not 6, which would provide a much more stable and smooth ride, especially at anchor.
    If they do the same with the 68 footer, they may as well not bother as it will only sell to first-time power-cat buyers.
    Again, lovely boat, but imagine the extra space and stability had it been full cat 2:1 width.

    Great video! But a suggestion, try to film with a "fish eye" lens to capture more of the content in the framed shot.

  • @michiganengineer8621
    @michiganengineer8621 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    While Prestige does make a lovely boat there are a few items on this cat that I'm not a fan of. One is the deep bridge deck for the reason you mentioned when you were running it from the fly, slap-slap-slap . . . .
    The other item _WOULD_ be a deal-breaker since it is potentially a SERIOUS fire hazard. Who had the "bright" idea to put PLYWOOD over the top of the engines?

  • @kevinrhodes1036
    @kevinrhodes1036 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Whoever decided it was a good idea to have a glass top table in the salon? Basically a scythe waiting for a bit of a seaway and someones legs. Furniture is cheap cheap looking lightweight and seriously its held down with a skinny threaded rod.
    Covering the engines with wood planks to create more storage is only something who’s never had to service an engine would do. I could see doing this only if all daily service points were easily accessible even then need a more creative solution. Lower helm definitely looks like an afterthought, is this really a full displacement boat?

  • @AbNomal621

    7:39 So would a sane person pack stuff such that you need to move it when checking fuel filter, oil, sea strainer? Never lived on a boat, but it would seem from TH-cam land that such is accessed every day the boat moves.

  • @user-gq4ch1pd4c

    A bit top heavy considering it doesn't have the common length/beam 2:1 ratio ...I wonder if a Seakeeper would work here ?

    I tip my cap to the “salty sea dogs” that could make the crew cabin work. I would lose my mind after 20 minutes of captivity.

    Prestige are famous for not having much, well, prestige. I know they've tried to improve their lot over recent years but to me with limited success. Until now, until this. This cat is really desirable. Prestigious!!

      I had a look at the 590 at SIBS. Was surprised by the quality and layout. Lovely boat, except for the steps to the flybridge - a bit steep and awkward to use.

    Poor design choices for the money. Engine compartments trying to double as storage space all but guarantee that proper daily Engine checks will never happen. Also not a fan of the raw wood edges on the plywood down there.
    The deck furniture choices were obviously made to save weight but I don't imagine that it will last much beyond the 2nd year.
    The cabinetry looks cheap for the price point.l

      Agree. All Prestige interiors look hard, cheap, and old-fashioned compared with other brands. Just a few simple things could make them look better, but they never try. I guess Prestige fills a niche at the Dacia end of the boat market.

    I am a sailing man and have never been attracted to a sailing multihull. Strangely I don't have the same thoughts about a powercat. Maybe one day when I hang up the spinnaker and decide to spend the grand kids inheritance? I could see myself on one of these for a few months every years in the Greek Islands. Anyone know a good estate agent? But don't tell you know who . 😀

    Great presentation, nice steady camerawork. It's a great design but to my tastes it's yet another Prestige let down by its Ikea interior decor, complete with horrible industrial aluminium air vents that belong on a rattly old ferry. At least anodize them brown to match the decor!

    You lose all the storage under the rear seats and the idea that you don't need it because there is lots of other storage is ridiculous. YOU CAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH STORAGE on a boat.

    I hate these sorts of boats. Great big, top heavy machines which appears to be cheaply finished. Now give me a proper sailing cat, an Outremer, Balance or Seawind and then you’re talking. This boat is a great big bulbous slab wallowing on the seas, just about good enough for charter.

    This is a poorly designed boat with cheap materials everywhere and all this “reviewer” can do is wax lyrical about it. Why not just get the boat company to review their own product and cut out the middleman?

    • @sirmurf

      That’s your opinion. Nothing more. There’s no need to attack the reviewer because he doesn’t share your opinion. It’s rather childish.

    This is the 1st yacht video in I don't know how long that I've thought wow what a piece of c***. Who designed it? What kind of a scrooge owner is gonna shove a crew down in that cabin or make him climb down into a separate room just to go to the bathroom. Complete waste of money to put a bathroom there or bother to put up pad on a bunk that's never gonna be used. Might have used a fraction of that cost to put the Led's in the saloon for underglow.
