I believe you need to include the effect the death of Brian Epstein had on the band, especially John. For the years following the point their fame took off, Brian was the one who made many, if not most, of the decisions concerning their professional and personal lives. His death was especially traumatic to John.
Then there was the impact their dentist had on them, because of the electric tea he served the Beatles one night after dinner! not gonna mention that Paul McCartney’s mum died when he was 14? (The songs Yesterday and Let it Be are both about his mum if anyone’s curious). also not gonna mention John Lennon’s mother also died when he was a teenager I see. It was actually a source of bonding between the two. Paul knew what it was like to loose a mum, so he helped John through it as best he could. I think that’s why they were closer to each other than to Ringo or George, though they all loved each other for sure.

I was born after they broke up and have been into heavy metal, House music, Acid House, Reggae and Jazz.
There will never be a band like the Beatles again.
Not because they had the best drummer, guitarist or bassist... but, because as a whole they made some of the most perfect music ever made and yes, they made a few shit songs as well, but even these were better than most bands good stuff.
Never has a band been so diverse.....Rock, Blues, Rock n Roll, Pop, Psychedelic, Heavy Metal.
No 2 songs sound the same, youbcan sing along, dance or just listen to their songs.
The conclusion... Anyone who says the Beatles were nothing but genius, really does not understand music. There will never be another Beatles.

The Beatles are the foundation of a music as we know it. They preformed for only 10 years and yet almost 60 years later people still listen to their music. It's incredible and in this time I think unbeliveable. Today's music you listen to for a week or so and then you don't even remamber the name of that song. Their songs live forever and without them I don't think today's music could exist. They will always be the greatest band that ever walked on this Earth and I will be forever greatful for them...

Funny as it is the kind of thing that would be a massive video on TH-cam or interviewed on a documentary now as John has reached legendary status. At that time John was an exBeatle but still alive and not making music so he wasn't seen as the legend he is now. His death really changed things, for those too young to remember that event.

At 3:55 the narrator says "John & Yoko stepped out of the Dakota for dinner and the killer was waiting for them" is inaccurate, and only a novice would blunder so badly getting a major detail so wrong. They were at a New York recording studio doing follow-up tracks to their "Double Fantasy" album and were returning from a recording session very late in the evening when it happened.

You mentioned George Harrison's brain tumor and lung cancer. Tragic as they were, but it wouldn't be as traumatic as when a lunatic intruder broke into his home and stabbed him multiple times in the back. George said that it partly caused his lung cancer to get worse.

A video titled "tragic truth" is supposed to reveal that there was something intrinsically tragic about the entire situation. It's not supposed to be a few sad facts about members of a wildly successful band. "Tragedy," by the way, isn't the fact that life can be tough and sad. It means that your character and situations lead inexorably to a disastrous situation - and you can have an impeccable character and still suffer.

  • @rexrexrex67

Actually i think the John Lennon story may have been exaggerated, the Beatles were really good at story telling which was why they were such good song writers ,fact is Paul and John had pretty normal childhood, yes John's dad left him at age 5 ,but it was John who chose to be bad ,but he was cared for by his Aunt and had a home to live in and his own room, 3 meals a day ,went to school etc...and Paul was even better off ,money wise. They were never abused by their parents and when they went to Germany it was their family who paid their way.

3:07- McCartney and Pete Best deported from Germany for setting fire to a "condom?" Seems like auto correct added an "m" to the script. But no, the lads broke their contract with a club owner who- (from Wikipedia) "then reported Harrison for working under the legal age limit (even though he had been working at Koschmider's club) and Harrison was deported on 21 November 1960. When Best and McCartney went back to the Bambi Kino to get their belongings they found it in almost total darkness. As a snub to Koschmider, McCartney and Best found a condom in their luggage, attached it to a nail on the concrete wall of the room, and set fire to it in order to have light to gather their possessions. There was no real damage done, but Koschmider reported them both for attempted arson."
