    Congrats on your Twins & on Akani recently getting married! After his record number of 4th & 5th places in WC/OLY 100m Finals, felt like the whole T&F community let out a huge sigh of relief that 31yr old Akani Simbine at least got his hands on a Global Medal with his OLY 4x1 Silver when him & Zharnel Hughes ran a monster final leg to win Silver & Bronze for SA & GB respectively!

      💯. I participated in a study on block settings in about 2003. Full sensors and the works. I did at least ten full starts and went under 0.1 at least three times with the rest being no worse than 0.13. I was a "fast starter". I also got DQd in a race with sensored blocks for going under but spent most of my time racing without sensored blocks. As we all know, the rule was based off a random study of a handful of sub elite sprinters. The rule needs to be set at 0.05 or at least 0.08 because it's absolutely certain we can react faster than 0.1 and a lot of work has been done on this over the last 20 years.

      I feel bad for Akani Simbine. Unfortunately, I blame the 1996 Olympics 100 meters finals for implementing the 1 false start and you're out rule. Sprinters from those games were purposely false starting in order to mentally mess with their top rivals in the finals. It's so hard to see Simbine false starting from video. I think the reaction times must be implemented for the possibility of the absolute best sprinters to react faster than perceived or agreed upon because top level sprinters continue to push the boundaries on what is agreed to be scientifically impossible possible.

    Hey TRP!
    You should do a piece on the situation in Norway regarding Gjert Ingebrigtsen.
    The athletic body is moving to bar him from everything long before there has been a criminal/civil trial or verdict.
    It’s already causing a bit of fuzz here.
    Nordås & Svela are the only ones that stand by him until further notice.
    Good lads ❤

      What's the case about

    • @erikwigelandiestad2270
      @erikwigelandiestad2270 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Gjert is scheduled to face a criminal trial next year. Accused of physical abuse of two of his children, where one is named as Jakob. There other one is believed to be the daughter I…. which is still not 18 yo.
      The controversy is that the athletic body has refused accreditation for the last few championships despite his success with Nordås, leading to him bailing out of the recent cross country championships.
      The latest is that they want to bar him from everything, prior to the trial as a «preventive» measure.
      Highly controversial to say the least.
      The matter is far more complex , this is just from the top of my head.
