Scrutiny of nomination papers for Outer Manipur Lok Sabha seat concludes, 4 candidates in fray

Returning Officer for Outer Manipur, Parliamentary Constituency, Subhash Singh on Thursday successfully carried out scrutiny of nomination papers for four candidates. Singh submitted the list of validly nominated candidates to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Manipur.
The candidates in the fray are Former Congress legislator Alfred Kanngam S Arthur, Naga People’s Front (NPF) candidate Kachui Timothy Zimik, and Dr Alyson Abonmai and S Kho John are two independent candidates.
Lok Sabha elections for the two seats in Manipur will be held in two phases. The Inner Manipur seat, along with 15 assembly segments of Outer Manipur, will go to polls on April 19. Polling for the remaining 13 assembly segments of the Outer Manipur constituency will be held on April 26.
