When Scar screamed at the Greeper, it was so perfect because it set up BDubs to believe there was an actual creeper for another scare. It was brilliant. One of the best and most chaotic episodes.

If I ever won the lottery, I'd use a million dollars (for charity) to get all the Hermits to do a 24 hr livestream event where they collaborate on a single enormous mega build, and the highlights reel would get to have everyone's timelapse music.
I went and watched Cleo's time surrounding the event and she actually catches a glimpse of 1 of the 2 as they enter the building, but its just a flash of about half of a creeper body as she is turning around. Lucky that she didn't notice it or we wouldn't have gotten that amazing reaction.

Perhaps you can keep anvils in the shop, and tell the hermits to rename their diamonds so you can count them. Warn them that if there is no name on the diamonds, they won't go towards customer of the month!
"Doors" would be in keeping with the whole Masterdoor theme from the first episode. As for payment systems, why not get the Hermits to name their diamonds :)
It would be quite expensive on the levels and inconvenient if the hermits have to go to the end to get levels to name their diamonds with every purchase

Supply the hermits with an anvil to rename their diamonds with their name. You could have a chest of enchanting bottles next to the anvil for the hermits to use to get the EXP needed to rename their diamonds.
I feel like the Hermits should rename their diamonds for shopping to their users. It would just help the others know who's buying from their shops and then they could either rename them or collect the other's diamonds lol
The only thing is they would have to constantly rename them to reuse them. Alternatively, you could have a central payment chest with a ledger next to it for hermits to put in diamonds spent on their purchases.

Back then, when some of us were young, scar used to be one of the smaller TH-camrs when Minecraft was first sprouting it's wings. He did house tutorials, hardcore Minecraft series, we all loved him. Now, after all these years, he's one of the bigger TH-camrs, playing with other bigger TH-camrs like mumbo jumbo. he's one of the select few Minecraft TH-camrs that continues to do what we love for more than 9 years
Maybe you could implement a system where Hermits name their diamonds with their name. That way, everyone could see who is buying from their shops so they could know their target customers.
if there is one thing I have learned from hermitcraft, its that they will never be able to consistently use a new way of shopping, implement that system and i reckon about 10% of shopping trips will someone actually name their diamonds, if its a sign telling them to do it, then even less
JoeHills was actually live when you recorded your intro segment. I love seeing / hearing things like this in real time, even if he wasn't near you, the thunder storm and death message were still present. My favorite part though is just before the recording, as you put in chat asking that no one sleeps, Joe was actually walking into your mattress store, aka a room full of beds.
Idea for 2nd floor of shop: hire a contractor! Every season, there ends up being at least one hermit who decides to be a redstone-services-for-hire, why not put out an “ad” for someone to rent out the 2nd floor for their office? It’d be a fun way to collab & would fill the space quite nicely I think
while i think shutters/doors is the better bit, naming the shop Tomato(tm) would be a great way to attract the attention of a certain tomato-farming redstone enthusiast. . .
They could rename their diamonds so you can track Hermits spendings PS: a good name for the redstone shop could be scarRED stone, like scarred for life but for red stone :3
Alternative: Just go with Scarred and add a second floor themed around the various costume for spooking people, or "scares". Sell sets of the Creeper and singles of the Tree.

The upstairs area could be a special area for loyalty scheme customers with special deals/cookies. Hermits in the loyalty scheme have their own barrels to put their payments in, so you have to be a member to be eligible for customer of the month.
The Hermits can have a “rewards card.” Each item or diamond spent can equal a set amount of points. It can help with customer of the month and you use it for other ideas or promotions through the season.
This episode helped me hit a new PR with laughing harder than I have ever in my life. The one on BDub in his shop was the absolute best because Bdub is already a national, global, and universal treasure with his voice and personality❣
The hermits can write their name and their respective amount of diamonds every time they spend (e.g. Scar - 10 diamonds), and all you have to do at the end of the month is count the amount of diamonds of each hermit by the papers!
It always amazes me, that I can be feeling completely awful and alone, to the point where I think nothing can cheer me up. Then I watch Scar’s video, and within seconds there’s a giant smile on my face
There is a saying: "If you dig a pit for another, you risk falling into it yourself." Grian giving you that jumpscare was the perfect proof of that. xD
You could have assigned chests on the second floor that whenever a hermit pays, they go up there and put it in their respect chest. That way you can go through and see their totals for the month.
Had the exact same idea, could even add some slime blocks on the first floor to fall down onto just so there's a little more incentive for going back and forth
The best name is Doors! Especially if you use doors in the marketing. Make it seam like you've got a separate shop for specialty doors like your specialty shop for beds! It'll be confusing and brilliant.
re: dispensers, talk to Tango, his new autohotkey trick would take a lot of the pain out of crafting those, could do an inventory worth of bows at one go, or combine with the usual big iron farm block crafting trick by standing in a pile of bows and running the autohotkey thing, since the output dispensers will stack and allow you to pick up more bows.
Fill your inventory with mostly bows, fill the other spaces of the recipe with full stacks of items, then shift click the bows into the recipe slot. Use number key or Q to take out the crafted dispenser. You can do it at a nice pace this way.
Idea for sorting : make a special “elven coin” for a diamond so each elven coin will have the persons name on it by naming them or in the texture so you can count who bought what while also being able to recycle the coins
Oooh yesss! A cool little machine that exchanges diamonds for tokens adds interest to the shopping experience like Bdubbz has at the back of his moss shop!
You could have some kind of guest log where people write down their spendings -- not only can you keep track there (and people could opt out of writing if they didn't want to be customer of the month, for some reason), but people could see what others are spending to ramp up the competition!
This is just an absolute masterpiece of a hermitcraft episode. Whenever I'm feeling down, I come back and watch this. I hope this can be topped but I have no earthly idea how. Hope you're doing well Scar! Love all your content

JoeHills was actually live when you recorded your intro segment. I love seeing / hearing things like this in real time, even if he wasn't near you, the thunder storm and death message were still present.
My favorite part though is just before the recording, as you put in chat asking that no one sleeps, Joe was actually walking into your mattress store, aka a room full of beds.

Idea for 2nd floor of shop: hire a contractor! Every season, there ends up being at least one hermit who decides to be a redstone-services-for-hire, why not put out an “ad” for someone to rent out the 2nd floor for their office? It’d be a fun way to collab & would fill the space quite nicely I think

while i think shutters/doors is the better bit, naming the shop Tomato(tm) would be a great way to attract the attention of a certain tomato-farming redstone enthusiast. . .

Alternative: Just go with Scarred and add a second floor themed around the various costume for spooking people, or "scares". Sell sets of the Creeper and singles of the Tree.

The upstairs area could be a special area for loyalty scheme customers with special deals/cookies. Hermits in the loyalty scheme have their own barrels to put their payments in, so you have to be a member to be eligible for customer of the month.

The Hermits can have a “rewards card.” Each item or diamond spent can equal a set amount of points. It can help with customer of the month and you use it for other ideas or promotions through the season.
This episode helped me hit a new PR with laughing harder than I have ever in my life. The one on BDub in his shop was the absolute best because Bdub is already a national, global, and universal treasure with his voice and personality❣
The hermits can write their name and their respective amount of diamonds every time they spend (e.g. Scar - 10 diamonds), and all you have to do at the end of the month is count the amount of diamonds of each hermit by the papers!
I feel like it would be easier to just have them name their diamonds by some nearby anvil?
It always amazes me, that I can be feeling completely awful and alone, to the point where I think nothing can cheer me up. Then I watch Scar’s video, and within seconds there’s a giant smile on my face

You could have assigned chests on the second floor that whenever a hermit pays, they go up there and put it in their respect chest. That way you can go through and see their totals for the month.
Or they could name the diamonds before paying?
i had a similar thought. I just seems like the most efficient way of doing it other than people naming diamonds, which is inconvenient.
You could name them, but that’s an extra step- with also making sure there is a working anvil close by.
I was going to say the same thing and I think naming will be annoying for the hermits

Especially if you use doors in the marketing. Make it seam like you've got a separate shop for specialty doors like your specialty shop for beds! It'll be confusing and brilliant.
re: dispensers, talk to Tango, his new autohotkey trick would take a lot of the pain out of crafting those, could do an inventory worth of bows at one go, or combine with the usual big iron farm block crafting trick by standing in a pile of bows and running the autohotkey thing, since the output dispensers will stack and allow you to pick up more bows.
Gonna comment on tangos video as well telling him that scar needs help. It can be part of his good dead deal thing for scar

Fill your inventory with mostly bows, fill the other spaces of the recipe with full stacks of items, then shift click the bows into the recipe slot. Use number key or Q to take out the crafted dispenser. You can do it at a nice pace this way.
Idea for sorting : make a special “elven coin” for a diamond so each elven coin will have the persons name on it by naming them or in the texture so you can count who bought what while also being able to recycle the coins
^ might by the same time commitment as building out a redstone sorter. But at least this way, they get a unique item.
Oooh yesss! A cool little machine that exchanges diamonds for tokens adds interest to the shopping experience like Bdubbz has at the back of his moss shop!
You could have some kind of guest log where people write down their spendings -- not only can you keep track there (and people could opt out of writing if they didn't want to be customer of the month, for some reason), but people could see what others are spending to ramp up the competition!
