Miracle on the Hudson was out of LaGuardia and Sully landed it in the Hudson after bird strikes killed both engines. The Denzel Washington movie was fiction. There -was- a plane that went down in the Pacific near San Diego that rolled over uncontrolled because of broken tail parts. No survivors.
WOW! Now that's sailing with some unusual views. Love it. I grew up there and never saw the sights from a boat on the rivers. I think you might have opened up a whole new sailing experience based on the history of our country. Can you imagine who before you sailed the waters of the East and Hudson Rivers?
Wow! What an amazing view of the city! In your own little private, peaceful world through the sirens, traffic, and craziness happening just a few hundred yards away on land. Your filming-especially the drone shots-really helps to put it into perspective!
This is my favourite episode! I am from NYC and my wife and I kept our 27ft sailboat in Liberty Park Marina. We sailed NY inner and outer bay so many times, day and night. We left in 1997. We still have our 27ft Sailboat. Great memories.
Great views if the City - loved it. You guys looked really happy - watched it twice not to miss anything. The Great Lady actually looked small. I've been to NY one time in my life, but I would have to say, sailing is the best way to see her. Enjoyed, thank you. 💙🇺🇸💚👍😇
Thank you for taking me along with you on your sail through NY city , that is as close as I will ever get . The scenery was great and Mother Liberty was outstanding. As you said a total different look from your own boat. The drone shots were excellent also. Brandy your smile and laughter would light up any day and you do pretty good to Beau .😁 until next week stay safe but have fun. ⛵🇺🇸
Hello from New Jersey. Love Lady Liberty 🗽 Hope you enjoyed the Jersey sunset🤙 It's nice you guys came up here. I feel like most sailors go to warm sunny places. I hope you enjoyed the northeast.
Thanks Beau and Brandy... my favorite sailing couple.... you really made me think about the true meaning of Lady Liberty. In these kinda dark times, you brought some light!
What a spectacular contrast to your usual videos. It was so nice of you to share your raw emotions as you approached and left NYC. Great drone footage again. You two are great!!
I have to admit I would have been nervous with that boat in those waters due to not having enough power. You two made it look easy. Ur my hero's. Not a fan of cities but nevertheless another great video. Be safe u two.
Brandy, you and Beau live such an exciting life sailing .Love the way you work the ropes. I would have myself tied up in a knot. Enjoy and be safe 🙏 ❤️.
Omgosh thanks so much guys.. since a little girl (in my 60’s now) I’ve always wanted to sail past the Statue of Liberty (no idea why🤷🏻♀️) and I got so emotional watching this. 😢
Along the coast of New England, most yacht clubs offer sailing lessons and races for kids (don't have to be a member for your kids to do it). My daughter did it for years and she loved it. After this adventure, you need to find some friends and get on a really big catamaran. 🤐🤐🤐
My favorite city … I ❤NYC‼I’ve been there 4 or 5 times, and I ALWAYS get emotional 🥹 when that skyline comes into view! Thank you for a wonderful new perspective of an old familiar place. It was spectacular … the drone shots, iconic land marks, Lady Liberty and your excitement Brandy 🥰👏👌!!!
B&B, I came down the Hudson into that harbor mess with my Tartan. Unquestionably a tremendous sight to see NYC from the water. You’re missing seeing the Hudson further up. You can stop in Atlantic City at Gardner’s basin for a somewhat quiet anchorage.
This was such a fun video to watch!! Thank you for sharing all your experiences with us. I loved seeing NYC and the Statue of Liberty from your perspective.. truly, I could feel your excitement and how cool this really was!
Sailing Uma with Dan and Kika arrived there in the dark and anchored over night. The lights at night were spectacular. And when did you sail with them on the catamaran, will we see some of that on your channel? Robert from 🇨🇦
We had the pleasure of watching the 4th of Jul fireworks from our boat before transiting the East river in the opposite direction 2 years ago. Amazing passage to do ONCE. Coming south in the fall when chose open ocean on the South side of Long Island. Much nicer & quieter sail...
Fun factoid: you used the slogan, “New York City!” from the Pace salsa commercial that came out in the 80’s, we know the guy that came up with that marketing slogan AND (wait for it…) he’s a sailor!!! ⛵️ looking FABulous friends!!
Hi guys, wow what a beautiful place I’ve never seen Brandie so happy she is ecstatic so happy to see it. Anyway keep up the good work. Love your Videos Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia 🇦🇺
Hard to keep track of everything at once but it often appears your traveler isn't set for good boat speed. If so, suggest you do a quick study of traveler trim.
Very cool drone shots of saorise sailing thru nyc. Looks like you had a perfect day to sail thru the city. I've been thru nyc a few times by boat and everytime i had the same reaction you had. Its funny because as sailors we try to get away from cities but there is just something about sailing thru nyc. 😎⛵
It was just amazing watching you guys sail past the city, seeing the Statue of Liberty brought tears to my eyes. I've been to NYC twice and I'll never forget how exciting and breathtaking it was each visit. Thank you for the wonderful footage and awesome drone shots. Hugs 😊❤⛵
@@BeauAndBrandy I am from NYC, on the west side of Manhattan there is a boat basin on 79th street. As poor kids from literally across the street, we hung out by that marina. By the time it re-opens I'll have my dufour 44, I'm gonna do hurricane seasons there as an old man. All the kids form the block, we are all still boys to this day, 55 years later. We are going to have a blast. I cant wait to sail my boat to my own neighborhood and literally be across the street from apartment I was born and grew up in.
Great view of Lady Liberty but seriously wrong latitude😂 those currents combined with buildings to mess up the wind gives me nightmares while I'm awake. Well done you two!
Thanks for watching! We hope you enjoyed the episode as much as we did making it! The show has been made possible by people like you. If you would like some extra perks or just like to support the show, check out how to join the crew here: bit.ly/BB-Patreon ♥♥

I adore the Statue of Liberty! Thank you 4 sharing her with me. The choice of music at that time in the video made it extra special. Safe travels ❤
You are so welcome! We loved this experience for sure!

This is exactly how we felt! 😍
I have done that trip 4 times and it makes me emotional every time, cheers

This was definitely in the top 5 for us!! Happy you enjoyed it. We had such a beautiful day for it!
When you hear the sirens is when you know you have arrived !
So so true, sounds of the city…
23:54 New York is a one of a kind place 🎉

💙🇺🇸💚👍😇
The current in the river reminded me of being in the city and being pushed down the road go go go go go go. Awesome video piece ✌️
Perfect analogy, we were definitely go go go!
did i miss an episode where you hung a new centerboard? ive gone backwards through the kitchen and hells gate. never dull. fair winds.
You haven’t missed that episode, we never reattached it. Don’t really miss it to be honest.

When was this filmed. Y'all are in short sleeves
Awesome perspective…Soirse meets the Big Apple..thanks Beau and Brandy.
I got the feeling, Brandy was just a tad bit excited 😂 so cool
So Excited. and surprised. seeing the city from this view was crazy.

Throggs like Frogs… Neck Bridge. Could have wave as you went by. Great Video!
lol on that new windless....good to see you two and keep up the good work, New York sucks though.
Don't go there and say that!
I have to admit I would have been nervous with that boat in those waters due to not having enough power. You two made it look easy. Ur my hero's. Not a fan of cities but nevertheless another great video. Be safe u two.
I spent a year in Brooklyn on the East River in the Navy yard, during my sailors days...it was great! So glad y'all did that breathtaking route 🎉😊
Sereal the word is sereal.😊
You guys are always so full of positive energy that's why you've so fun to watch. Love your chanel 🤗💞
The view of lady liberty was outstanding
Different view of the city for sure !

You folks really have a great attitude , laid back and it shows your wanderlust.
Wow, great footage. Been to the city many times, living in Nj. The view by boat going past Lady Liberty is beautiful. Now in the Tampa Bay area.
This was such a fun video to watch!! Thank you for sharing all your experiences with us. I loved seeing NYC and the Statue of Liberty from your perspective.. truly, I could feel your excitement and how cool this really was!

I bet that was AMAZING!!
Those drone shots were EXCELLENT!
This is really cool!
Complete amazing. Had no idea how much we were going to LOVE it.

You stop!!? Really!! That’s amazing!!
Wow awesome video! Very unusual to approach NY from the sea. Very cooool
👍😎
Awesome. Great videography and fantastic music. Great job, you two!
Awesome video! The big statue 🗽 was cool.
Great video. Our saltwater deck wash, plumbed to the head-water intake is one of the best items onboard, making muddy anchorages easy.
Wow! That was one of your best videos.
Mrs Liberty, was built by Mr. Eiffel (tower) and gifted to the US by the French, the French have a small one in Paris.
One of your best videos! Sail on!
Wow, thanks! ⛵️😎
Yessss clunk clunk clunk
Pirate Beau needs an earring. Ready to take Manhattan!
Haha. That would be something!
Awesome stuff, lived in NY for two years and was so happy to move on, but still good memories.
We were taken aback how much we loved the city WAY more from this view than IN the city, is that weird?!
Hey hey hey❤❤

It was such an experience to see the view from our boat. Had no idea I would feel like that! 🗽🫶
Also I like Beau’s awkward song…was sweet.😢
Awesome video! Loved your joy over the Statue of Liberty! ❣️
She was just breathtaking 🗽
It's great to see you use a winch for your anchor.
Sailing UMA anchored overnight on the west side of the statue a couple of years ago. They got some good drone video of their stay.
....so good!
Cool trip into NY! Thanks 😊
Hi Guys that trip was something Special ,Thank You , From us in the UK.
You never serenaded me like that Beau! 😢😢😢
🤣😂
As a non-American it probably doesn’t have quite the same significance but pretty cool all the same.
Fantastic video. You guys are the video masters
Hello Beau and Brandi!!! Wow the city lit Brandi up didn’t it? Outstanding video and so happy for you both. I’m sick of ICW videos!!!! Hugs 🎉❤
Very F’n cool video. How many people over the years have passed by the Statue of Liberty. Thanks for posting another enjoyable video.
Too cool, you two!
You2 are incredible
The drone was a really nice touch. You will always have these memories. I think the goatee is pretty cool too!
This sail was definitely one for the memories book!!
Hard to keep track of everything at once but it often appears your traveler isn't set for good boat speed. If so, suggest you do a quick study of traveler trim.
Aweee so Many memories of my childhood!
Ps. Don't eat any fish out of that water lol learned that the hard way😂
Yah pass on the fish lol.
A beautiful episode!
The city still looks beautiful from the water, at least.
Definitely our favorite way to view it!

You said it perfectly! We were apprehensive on how we were gonna feel about it, but as you can see….it was one of our favorite sails!
Very cool.
It was just amazing watching you guys sail past the city, seeing the Statue of Liberty brought tears to my eyes.
I've been to NYC twice and I'll never forget how exciting and breathtaking it was each visit.

My favorite episode!
Awww thanks Marie!
Excellent
That is one of my main goals, great video
Great goal!! It was such a memorable sail!!
There is zero wind in the sound until the afternoon.
The denzel washington movie was another movie. You're thinking of the Pilot Scully who landed in the Hudson River. Tom Hanks.
Haha. Yes, you nailed it. We were mixing up both of the movies 😂

Thanks so much!
Wow. Great video. Amazing shots of New York
Great view of Lady Liberty but seriously wrong latitude😂 those currents combined with buildings to mess up the wind gives me nightmares while I'm awake. Well done you two!
I think we timed it just right, luck was on our side for sure. Had a smooth ride though, minus the wake and weird swirling currents.
Just popped over from the Patreon feed to help boost the YT payday. Take care and have a great time guys.
Thank you kind sir! 😎
Is one of my dreams, good job you guys make it look easy!
This was one of the best videos!
Thank you so much! 🫶
Great job that was too cool ❤$$$
Freemason Mistress Liberty is looking much taller, viewed from under the bridge from down river.
