No one commanded a stage with such nonstop impromptu ease and elegant conversation as this man did every single show or interview! I call him the “Mr. Rogers” of game shows because he was just an amazing human inside and out.
He will forever be missed.
Im sure if she didnt have all 4 by the end bob would have made one of his executive decisions and given her the prizes.
Well, since Bob reset the clock back to 45 seconds, it basically restarted the game. But she did have the advantage of knowing 2 were right so it made it somewhat easier for her to nail all 4. But even if not, knowing Barkers nature, I'm sure he would have proclaimed she won all 4.

This very likely would have been a technical win. She was very confused about everything you could tell when Bob restarted the game. Being she already made switches and take into account if on stage you mentally on a cocaine type high they'd literally would have needed to do so to make things right.
@@gr8daynegb Yes, that's true. The Department of Standards and Practices are very strict when it comes to game show errors or cheating. But even so, Barker would have given her all 4. She already won the second the game messed up.
I agree. Even though she had more time, it messes with one's train of thought. Bob would have let her win all the prizes anyway.
I remember in another episode that featured this game, after the contestant initially pulled the lever, the buzzer sounded, but it didn’t display how many the contestant had right. The contestant proceeds to make changes before Bob stops them and says the number didn’t light up. The clock continued to run for about 1-2 seconds before they stopped it.
The contestant ended up losing the game at first, but after the commercial break, Bob stated that the contestant didn’t get their full 45 seconds, since the clock didn’t stop immediately, when Bob asked how many were originally right, so they gave them all the prizes.
I'm almost certain there was one time during the Barker era when a contestant pulled the arm down and a "3" popped up. Obviously this is impossible--if you have three right, the fourth has to be right too.
@@ThreePointOneFou the display in the Race Game is a hardwired Neon Light. So only 0, 1, 2 and 4 are possible. I did see once or twice that two numbers overlapped each other and you couldn't tell how many the contestant had correct.
This is why I miss bob barker. He made it fun for everyone

The Gibson freezer behaved for Holly. We all know the troubles she had with other Gibson appliances in the past.
I have that same Toro 521 snow thrower since new and still using it today in snowy New England.Congrats to her winning all after the mess was settled.

It is a known fact that there is no 3 plugged into the machine. The only numbers possible in the Race Game are 0, 1, 2 and 4.

I 100% agree if it wasn't a 4 at the end Bob would have said she wins all the prizes. It's an unwritten rule if TPIR messes up during the game, the contestant wins. In this game, it definitely messes up with the contestant's train of thought when the wrong number showed. One of my favorite mess-ups was in the 10 Chances game. The board was loaded backwards, showing the actual price of all three items first, instead of the numbers to choose from. It was the easiest way ever to win a car. The contestant didn't have to do a thing.

In May 1984 my wife snuck off with her boyfriend to be on the Price is Right game show and he won the show case but it was found out he used a stolen ID because he was a wanted criminal, he didn't get anything. I later divorced my wife because these two losers tried to kill me for my insurance. 🙄

I totally remember this show I just happened to be watching it. It does say something about the guy that he could have simply waited until the show was over, but he didn't want the contestant to lose their chance to win something.
Usually whenever I heard Bob say, "Just a moment...", it's because the contestant said or did something dumb.
Barker did a great job... and man this game was a lot easier in the 80s

Race game was my LEAST favorite game- that has always been one of their hardest games to win
Race Game should be improved, with the following changes:
The timer being a modernized screen instead of a digital eggcrate clock.
The scoreboard being a modernized screen instead of a neon light showing 0, 1, 2, or 4.
A button on the side of the machine instead of a lever.
The staff made a biggest BOO BOO and she conquered it all

I'm surprised Bob didn't straight up give her all the 4 prices after the glitch. That's what he generally do when a glitch happen.
He generally only awarded the prizes when the glitch makes it impossible to complete the game fairly (premature price reveals and things of that nature). In this case, it was more than fair giving her the full clock reset, after giving her the knowledge that she already had two correct prices. Their mistake gave her an advantage of extra time.
I'm not well versed in The Price Is Right as I used to be, but bidding 549 after someone already bid 569 has got to be one of the dumbest things you can do. Or am I not understanding the tactic.

You're not understanding the tactic!
@@12369ja because you want to bid the closest without going over, if you only bid 20 less, you're only giving yourself a 20/569 chance of choosing the correct number. As far as I understand it, the best tactic would be to have the absolute lowest bid ($1) or bid only $1 higher than the previous highest bid. This is why the person with $601 won the bid. But the person who bid $549, she may as well only bid $1, it wouldn't have changed a thing other than giving her more opportunity to win. If the actual price was $548, everyone would lose.

Bob said to the audience 'You have just seen the longest 'Race Game' in Price Is Right history'. Because the scoreboard malfunctioned & they gave her a re-start, the game lasted a total of 59 seconds( 24 seconds had already ran down before the re-start, she got all the prices right in 35 seconds after the re-start ). 🙂

Why? The mistake did not prevent the game from being played, and it gave her an advantage that very few other contestants get.
The only time they tend to give the prizes out like that is when the game play was so messed up there is no other reasonable solution (such as the mistake was caught after the game ended, or the mistake was as such that the game can't be reasonably completed... i.e., premature price reveals).
Realistically, they could have put the price guesses back and reset the clock so the game was in the same state as the moment she first pulled the lever. Rather than do that, they allowed her to restart the game with knowledge in her favor.
TPiR has generally been more than fair with solutions to mistakes.

WOW that is a crazy moment wow and also what's rare about this clip in my opinion was hearing Bob Barker say the word incorrect normally he would say this is wrong or this is not right but he said this is incorrect which in my opinion is rare because I've never heard Bob Barker say the word incorrect before but I've heard other game show host say the word incorrect like I heard Pat Sajak couple of times say incorrect, I've heard Alex Trebek say the word incorrect lots of times and I used to hear some of the old Nickelodeon game show host like Mike O'Malley (GUTS and Get the Picture) and Marc Summers (Double Dare & What Would You Do?) say the word incorrect many times but this is a rare moment in my opinion not just with the glitch on the race game scoreboard but when Bob Barker says the word incorrect wow freaking wow that is RARE RARE RARE.

One thing that made it great is that they didn’t edit out the bloopers. Especially Holly when she would fall or the doors on refrigerators wouldn't close back.

Not sure how they could, there is a live audience and you can't just cut out a person's appearance.
I think The Race Game has the most errors than any other game. I believe this game has multiple people operating it...the game monitor is watching the prices then signaling the person entering the number in the counter and the sound effects "person" is either doing the buzzer or the "ding-ding-ding..." There have been bloopers with every game, but this one more than any other. I know Bob would sometimes get off track on The Clock Game, but that was usually due to contestants going in every direction and not paying attention to his "higher" and "lower" statements.😂 I love game failures and bloopers...they are the best moments!!💲
I always got stressed out when contestants just shouted random numbers during Clock Game. "500." "Lower." "750!" 🤦♂

The Range Game scoreboard had a technical glitch
Bob obviously knows the prices of the products. Otherwise how could he know that she actually had two right and two wrong without looking at them.
The producers and other staff offstage keep an eye on the pricing games to make sure things are working out. You can probably hear one of them telling Bob about the error in this video. And, actually, Bob (and Drew) have said they don't know the answers to the games played on the show.

Roger Dobkowitz, ALWAYS, was sitting, just off-screen. He was there, to make sure things went the way they were meant to. If they didn't, Bob, sometimes, even consulted with Roger, ON-AIR!
