Thank you so much Audra for the request, I too am sadden by all the turmoil in this world today, and I speak with my heavenly father everyday. I lost my guy of 32 years to heart failure in March, so it has been difficult being so alone, but I have God to keep me going and people like the Brown's in this world. God Bless and stay safe Audra.
Oh my goodness, just magical!! THIS is how all humans should live. So grateful the world has finally seen the veil and so many of us are selling our homes to buy land and homesteads so we can raise our children the way we should be and be self-reliant. In this time of chaos, its people like you that really make a difference and trigger the inner knowing of our roots and what changes must be made. No matter how much money we make, having less and living this way is worth way more than all of that. Thank you for all you do xo
I completely agree with you, Miss Danielle! This is how we should all be living, being self-sufficient, being together as a family, with, I pray, the Lord at the center of our lives! Finally, raising our children with the understanding of a little bit of hard work and what it means to play in the great outdoors instead of always having their face buried in a playstation or I-phone. I pray every day that I will be blessed to have this life someday but since I'm pushing 60 and disabled with a bad back, sadly, it's probably not in the cards for me

Cabin is beyond beautiful & practical. As a man that's spent few hours in a kitchen, love that galley kitchen.

Just think, when ya grew up with a party line & can remember when they brought in a black rotary phone for mom to use.

I talked my husband into buying a camper to live in til we can buy land and build us a small cabin. I absolutely love your house.
This is exactly what we're doing! When we realized we could save $80,000 a year in an RV, we figured that'd be plenty to buy a 10 acre homestead and build a small cabin!
That's what we did it's also easier living on the land while building. We always had big houses until we rented a apartment after relocating to a new state. 800 sq.ft. After a year of living in a small space we both agreed it was crazy having a large place. Best of luck on your new adventure I'm sure you will love it!
How much do campers cost? I have rented forever, but I can't afford this house im in now...i like it, but circumstances..etc.. just tryin to figure what I can do..

♡ This is a dream home for me. I grew up spending most of my childhood years staying with my grandma. She lived literally off-grid and your cabin reminds me a lot of hers. That bathroom sink reminds me of my summertime outdoor baths I used to take in a tub just like it. My grandmother wasn't Amish, but she grew up living right beside an Amish community, and she learned so many wonderful things from them. I wish I still had her here with me as an adult to teach me even more than she did.

Both of you have managed to carved out a life that makes you happy, and that is more important than any amount of money. Yes, that comment really struck me too. I'm still praying my way through it all, but things are crazy fascist up here in Canada. They want to keep these masks and lockdowns going forever. I never thought I'd leave my country, but Idaho seems to be drawing us. We'll see down the road where the Good Lord wants us for sure. If we stay in Canada, w/ out Christian values and conservative, patriot ideals, we're likely to end up in a goolag. I wish I was exaggerating.

I love that you didn’t just give us a walk through, but also took the time to give up the history and how to of the building materials and how it was raised! My husbands family are all Amish and Mennonite and all of the wooden furniture is Mennonite made. They do excellent work!

Thank you for the wonderful tour of your amazing cabin. I truly enjoyed it and learned a lot. I found it all so interesting, learning about the wood and how it works, reading the age rings, and the roof! I’m amazed. I used to stick to my father’s elbow as much as possible when he was making something or pouring cement so this was really interesting.

Yessss! I enjoyed the detail Mr Brown went into when he was outside the house showing the wood that was used. My dad did a lot of woodworking and I learned a lot but I still can't differentiate the various species (pine is easier though). Love your home, your property, the details y'all provide & the education so many people have never been exposed to. Oh & I really love that bathroom sink, too 😍 Keep on gardening & canning 😊

Both are just perfect. I can only imagine how magical it is with the smells of the cooking, baking, the flowers and the smell of wood burning. It must feel like Heaven to live there. I don’t know how you can go to work everyday and to have to leave your little paradise.

I feel so welcome to your home. The comfortable feeling one gets from a home full of love just shoots through the screen and wraps me up every time I watch one of your videos. Your was Pt me in mind if my younger sister,who was my best friend. We lived right next to each other for almost 30 years. She moved to Alabama and then got leukemia. She passed a little over 7 years ago, but I still her terribly, so hearing you talk while your cooking, some of your comments I do answer, kinda like we’re talking. It brings a smile every time. And by the way, my sister and I worked in school food service. I lasted almost 42 years before I retired in 2015. So our lunch lady recipe mean a lot to me! I’ll share some I have stashed from my days as a baker at a high school. I think your viewers might enjoy some of them! Be blessed always, as you and Mr Brown bless all of us!

I love your cabin! We bought a few acres in the Pacific Northwest last year and hope to build a cabin on it. There are some Mennonites in that community, too, who operate a sawmill and sell specialty lumber. It would be a dream come true if we could do what you did. I like your channel I like your house that you need to count yourself lucky that you had the money to build it I'm 60 years old and I would never have the money to build a home like that especially when you live on 700 a month so good for you that God's blessed you with that money and that home that you have.
Both of them work. They try to do as much frugally as possible. Yes some is luck, but a lot is hard work & saving. I too live on small amount each month. I am grateful I have what I have. God bless.

What a great home you have.! I love all of the antiques and rustic pieces that make your space unique. When i watch you cook, i am intrigues by the utensils that you use. During this pandemic, because I don't have a washer and dryer, I washed my clothing and household goods the old fashioned way. In the bathtub. Years ago i bought a large folding clothes drying rack from the Amish. It truly came in handy. I love your bathroom sink! Thank you so much for the tour. What a wonderful home you have. On Amazon they sell portable washing machines. They will do loads 1o to 15 lbs. Around 100.00 and up. I use one in my cabin takes up very little room. Check them out!
I have a galley kitchen also, love it except when everyone wants to stand and talk in it, haha
