What a blessing she was to her tutu. You could see it in Genoa's face when they sang together - the pure joy, and the pride. God bless the Keawe ohana.

What a wonderful video. I am not usually a great enthusiast of falsetto singing, but I thought this was exceptional. Beautiful singing by Pomaika'i and the supporting group. I also found myself listening intently to the fine piano playing of Jeff Au Hoy, as well as his excellent qualities on the steel guitar. And a lovely, loving tribute to Aunty Genoa!

Takes me back to Hannah Buddah days... when we all had to learn HAWAIIAN words and music, some , pidgin (broken English too, as long as we respect our Kupuna (elders and Kumu Hula Teachers.. when parents had to work hard in earning what we have today.. there is so much to be “Mahalo” (thankful) no KA oi. .. May our heritages legacy and music perpetuated and touch global relatives too.

Absolutely beautiful. Discovered Pōmaika'i Keawe Lyman recently on the Moonlight Mele Concert Series. Have followed her story and performances ever since. Am so grateful Pōmaika'i and others of her generation are keeping the music of yesterday as authentic, alive and fresh as ever.

I am an admirer of Hawaiian culture, since I was 18 years old, and I have discovered that this culture is based on love. They do not know how much I enjoy the music, as well as the voices and especially the artists of these magical islands.

Too bad that the Merriott decided to get rid of the Thursday Genoa Keawe Family. They also got rid of George Kuo and Aaron Mahi on Sunday nights. These folks are like getting rid of Poke or malasadas or plate lunch. Beautiful music and folks would come and dance and sing with the groups. They kept the spirit going as long as possible. When our venerable slack key performer and teacher, Uncle Saichi Kawahara passed, the family of Aunty Genoa came to say good bye in San Francisco. I'm 81 and my mother introduced me to Auntie Genoa when I
was a very little girl as she was a dancer of hula. I loved the 78's we had of Alekoki and others. I wore them out.
