I’m here cause I just found out that Maya Rudolph was the daughter of Minnie Ripperton on Wikipedia.
That's a really interesting point of view from Maya, that she realizes now looking back that the people she looked up to as these deeply sensitive and serious individuals we're actually just hopeful, laid-back 20 somethings. It would be very poignant and different to grow up with really young parents. It's definitely an experience I'll never quite understand. My parents we're both 40 before my 8th birthday and I feel that a lot of kids from my generation experience that as people waited longer and longer to have kids.
Maya Rudolph is very pretty.

I, being of the baby boom generation, am so grateful to have grown up on Mrs Minnie Riperton's music. So glad others did their research on the late Minnie Riperton and Her husband Richard Rudolph (music producer and songwriter) who was married in August 1970. They met in 1967 and they have two children Marc (1968) and Maya (1972). Maya was just two weeks shy of her 7th birthday when her mom died of breast cancer in 1979.

my mind is totally blown you guys totally blown I grew up with Minnie Riperton I was a little girl I remember when she passed away I remember my Auntie Faye crying and I understand why she was crying and I totally don't cry Faye I asked her why you crying and she said oh because Auntie like the record a whole lot and she was sick and she passed away and my mother taught me about God early when I was a little girl and I told my auntie she went to go see Jesus and my auntie said she sure did but I just found out that Maya is Minnie Riperton's daughter I did not know this I love Maya she is so funny I love her all my God my mind is really blonde rest in peace Minnie Riperton and I still play your music I sure do love you Maya I can't wait to tell my aunt

I wonder if she ever thought Stevie can see? Her father Dick Rudolph, knew my friend Rick's mom, from FL, and I went to Minnie and Dick's house in BH, and was talking with Minnie. I was shocked to learn she had died, and I remember both her kids, and Dick, were in their kitchen that day. Her brother had blue eyes.

No, Camille, a one hit wonder is a reference to a single that tops the charts. One is not considered a 1 hit wonder if their entire album tops the charts.
I’m appalled at that statement! Just because you only heard one song you liked doesn’t mean that was all she did?? As a matter of fact “Loving you” was far from my favorite song, my daughters and grandkids love all of Minnies songs I played for them, they always wanted to know more about her. She was a timeless songbird and is still unmatched to this day. Wow... some people can make statements and don’t know what the hell they are talking about.
