Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland, Stanley Tucci, Lenny Kravitz, Willow Shields.
Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which "Tributes" must fight with one another until one survivor remains.
Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she's ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
The Hunger Games is directed by Gary Ross, with a screenplay by Gary Ross and Suzanne Collins and Billy Ray, and produced by Nina Jacobson's Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. Suzanne Collins' best-selling novel, the first in a trilogy published by Scholastic that has over 23.5 million copies in print in the United States alone, has developed a massive global following. It has spent more than 160 consecutive weeks/more than three consecutive years to date on The New York Times bestseller list since its publication in September 2008, and has also appeared consistently on USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists.

POV: You are here after the new film trailer 12 years later
Me and also bc im reading the 1st book, already on chapter 12
Me just because this is such a well made trailer and it brings me joy to watch it like once a week 😂
Already on Chapter 21 but spoiled myself because the movie aired on TV lmao
@@jsbestoopid well, don't let yourself get a single part of catching fire spoiled!! it's a roller coaster and I can't tell you how much I wish I could go back in time and read it again for the first time. don't ruin that for yourself!
@@reductosmash2483 um actually i had spoiled myself on the trilogy before i got the books so yeah
Honestly, if they made the tributes die in the movie like they did in the book this movie would probably get an "R"'rating
+Kelly Angel Burn Yeah, but in order to get more people to watch the movie they had to make it Pg-13
and I think they were trying to keep the movie he same rating as the book
+Jordan Patterson plus it would add more money to make the scenes more gruesome
IM MAD THEY GOT RID OF CLOVES DEATH SCENE WITH CATO LIKE BRUH GET OUT OF TOWN
And Tresh should kill clove with a rock in the movie that would be so much cooler
10 years on....nothing has even come close to it in its genre.

The Maze Runner...
you got that right its rubbish the maze runner films are much better
harry potter is over. hobbit is over. and now hunger games is over. what am I going to do with my life?
+isotnur The New Star wars trilogy? And maybe pray for a Percy Jackson reboot?
yeah
Pokeflirt you mean a reboot?
CDHfilms yes reboot
Yeah maze runner is nice. But the Percy Jackson movies are not at all like the books. I don't want to say they suck but wtf, they suck. The books are better and will stay better. Oh, and theirs Divergent? Thats a pretty good movie series.
2011 and 2012 were the best Hunger Games years, seriously. The feels, the excitement, just everything. I remember having countless discussions with my friends about the books and the upcoming movie before we watched the movie in the cinema. There was a special feeling the books gave me at that point of time, I can't really describe it, I can't quite put my finger on it. But everytime I see this trailer or read the first book again, this feeling comes back for a small amount of time.
I weirdly feel the same way. There was some kind of awakening in the atmosphere or something throughout those couples of years. I was reading more back then and fell in LOVE with these books and stories. I MISS those times.
2012 and 2013. You mean. That Atmospehere was destroyed by the confusion we got between Catching Fire and Mockingjay part 1, which didn’t even add anything.
I have never felt such a connection with a stranger. I know what you mean.
Did I write this?!
Ik exactly what u mean, it kinda made u excited and powerful at the same time cuz I felt like katniss was a huge role in my life. It gave me something to look forward to is i guess what I'm trying to say..
This movie is hauntingly amazing. It give me this mysterious feeling, I don't know how to explain it.. Don't get me wrong, the other movies are amazing too but they give me different feelings. Does anyone else feel like this? Or is it just me?
yup
+123camomile™ Same here.
I agree! This movie really affects me, its almost like I can feel the caracters, like Im standing in their shoes, can't explain, but as you said, its different than Cathing fire and MJ 1&2.
+derim006 Interesting how we can experience movies differently, can you explain what is, in your opinion, boring about this movie?

I need to apologies because i don't mention in mine comment that i didn't see yet full movie i see only this and another trailers and all trailers are really really boring , and why is boring well maybe trailer is boring and other trailers to me i don't know how to explain i need to see full movie and then to say my opinion :)
Katniss volunteering on her sister’s behalf, gives me chills everytime! Fantastic movie!🙌🏾
Hi... nice to meet you friend.....
still get chills as if I haven't seen it or read the books
I know right? I've read all three books twice, watched the first three movies twice, not the last one because I couldn't possibly subject myself to it, and still, the trailers thrill me. This legitimately makes me shiver.

The franchise aint over till the prequels are written, movie is made and fat lady has sung (read the latest on Suzanne Collins' untitled Hunger Games prequel book coming out in 2020).
The hunger games will forever have a special place in my heart, the first movie always hits hard.
And this epic film even now is great food for thinking. Often governments are upsetting parts of the population against other ages, professions, wealth levels, opinions in order to keep power. ☹️
I remember when this movie came out and people were mad and surprised that rue us black, when it was mentioned in the book that she is black. People were actually angry about it too, smh
Were people really mad that rue was black?

HOLLY SHIT ME TOO I GOT THE CHILLS
oh gawd me too i was shivering the whole time
Reading the book evoked real emotion out of me. For example, the way Katniss described how nervous she was a few hours before the games began gave me actual butterflies. My hands started sweating and my heart rate became irregular. I felt whatever she felt. I understand her confusion about Peeta’s real motives. I didn’t understand why she had a short fuse, she gets mad at everything all the time and that was annoying. But her character is likeable overall. This movie and book are the type that make me want to forget the experience just to rewatch or reread it all over again.
Quarantine, perfect time to re-read the books, watch the movies and enjoy The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes... Still can't believe it's been 8 years since we watched this trailer 😱😯

My god this trailer gives me the chills every time. I first saw this when it came out, I was 18. I had read the books and I was excited to see it come to life in cinema. They did such a good job with it. This takes me right back.
Do you know what I just noticed? Rue’s song is at the end of every trailer. So you see, she lives on with us. Rue will never die!!! 😭😭😭
Who's here to watch this amazing trailer 11 years after the first movie?
Hiiiiii!
I am.
After watching movies and reading all books, I can't explain the feeling and connection I feel with the series, this is just truly a masterpiece. And every time I hear the mocking jay sound I gives me chills down my spine. I just can't describe this feeling....it's like it is directly imprinted in my soul, this franchise became part of me
The Hunger Games is a trilogy. The first movie is interesting. This
adventure movie makes you feel you are in a very weird world. The main
purpose is to survive the hunger games that some people have been
selected to represent their districts. Most of the performances
represent crazy people. The cast included Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss
and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta. I think it is worth it to watch it.
Thx...this was helpful..👍🏽😊
The scene where Prim is taken away screaming no and then it shows Peeta getting chosen gives me so much chills! I also love the scene at the end with the countdown and everyone running.
Peeta lol
I see a lot of people commenting that they get chills and goosebumps and dont know why - Allow me to tell you why; it is because your soul knows that this movie is a foreshadow. We have already been living in times that are building up to what is to come. I think many of you will be seeing this now (if you were 'asleep' before Covid virus time. wake up SOuls! pay attention to everything, epecially big corps. and governments etc.

Long Live the Mockingjay *Hunger Games Whistle*
Ten years ago on this day, cinema was introduced to the girl of fire and the boy with the bread. Happy tenth anniversary to one of the most faithful adaptations I've seen, The Hunger Games.
My love for this movie is unreal. I'm so obsessed. I've seen this movie 16 times. I love it so much I can't even put it into words. I'm actually wearing a Hunger Games shirt right now. The Hunger Games is my everything.

Yeah me too
😂😂😂😂
Just re-watched after thinking about this trailer. One of the best trailers of all time honestly. The way the sound and visuals came together on this movie, I swear every crew member read this book (like the world) and really made it come to life. remembering how much the books affected me and then when the trailer came out (I still know every word to it from watching it so much) and it being so perfect down to sounding exactly how I imagined every scene in the book to sound like is indescribable. Yes, the other movies are amazing but nothing will ever top the feeling of when the first trailer came out. I shed a tear or two every time "I volunteer as tribute!" just by the mask scale of feelings to how much it means to me and the world. Also, this movie just gives you an eerie feeling unlike any other, I believe.
this music is so good it gives me chills, literally.
i have read the book 4 times, seen this trailer 1 billion times, watched the movie 3 times (twice on the first day) and this STILL gives me chills!

So Im a big fan of angst, right? I remember when the trailers were first coming out. I was about to leave my house to hang out with some friends when Prim's screaming on our TV made me stop dead in my tracks. It was edited in a way that made it look like Prim was screaming because she was chosen, and then it showed Katniss screaming "I volunteer!" My eyes were glued to the screen; immediately capturing my attention. I had never heard of the Hunger Games before, but I was so very intrigued. I saw it in theaters, twice, then immediately read all the books before the next movie came out. Now I own all the movies too and I still stands as one of my top favorite stories of all time. In the second movie, when everyone is making that hand symbol at Katniss, everyone in the theaters did it as well. It was so cool to witness.. So many good memories with this fandom, all initially stemming from the screams of trauma 😂
The whistle at the end made me shiver so badly

According to Suzanne Collins, Katniss is small is stature (smaller than Clove, much smaller than Cato), thin but strong for her age, with an olive complexion, long black straight hair, and grey eyes... Nailed it.
AH Pip I think it’s better that she is more tall in the films
This got recommended to me 10 years later yet I still got goosebumps and teared up when Katniss volunteered
watched the movie countless times, this still gives me chills
Watching this again after seeing the new trailer for ballad of songbirds and snakes, still gives me chills
Origins
Collins says she drew inspiration for the series from both classical and contemporary sources. Her main classical source of inspiration is the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur, in which, as a punishment for past crimes, Minos forces Athens to sacrifice seven youths and seven maidens to the Minotaur, which kills them in a vast labyrinth. Collins says that even as a child, she was stunned by the idea since "it was just so cruel" to force Athens to sacrifice its own children.
If there were a novel version of the Avengers, Katniss Everdeen would be in it. She would be joined by Harry Potter, Violet Baudelaire of "A Series of Unfortunate Events", Peter Pevensie from "Chronicles of Narnia", Beatrice Prior of "Divergent" and Percy Jackson, with Gandalf the Grey of "Lord of the Rings" as their leader/director. Characters from other YA novel series will also appear in various secondary roles.

I just saw the trailer....I had the books with me for ages....but never felt like reading it may be because of its cover....but as they say I guess I must not judge a book by its cover....and my friend recommended me to watch the movie....and I think I'm gonna go crazy of it .....after Percy Jackson and harry Potter....I think now it's gonna be hunger games
I discovered it now in 2022!
The screech in her voice when she says she she'll volunteer the first time and the firmness in her voice when she says it the second time. I can't get over it
This was my shit a couple years ago.
Still getting goosebumps as they pick Prim and Katniss volunteers
Brilliant trailer. Gives barely anything from the Arena and teases just enough to entice!
Peetas quote in this trailer was so so powerful, it was the thing he was most afraid of and it taunted him later in mockingjay
Don t worry guys....they are spawning in the lobby
I literally bought a book of the hunger games and it is just like that
One of my all-time favourite book series! Fantastically written, and I absolutely love the characters, especially Katniss and Peeta. Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson did a great job portraying them.
I must be the only snowflake that wasn't interested in the series when it first came out but ten years later (at 23 years old!) I finally started watching it.
Why was this trailer so friggin amazing, captured the spirit of the books with the audio, visual and music. Beautiful.
This trailer was so compelling it actually made me go and read the entire first book. No lie. It's very well-done with a premise oozing intrigue.
I read and finished the trilogy back in 2010. And now I'm here in 2020 after rewatching the 4 movies during the quarantine.
God I remember how I used to rewatch this trailer so many times. I miss the excitement of waiting for the film and rereading the book over and over again. HG will always have a special place in my heart.
Still the best movie trailer of all time
Anyone came back during quarantine to reminisce on the good old days
YA stans were really feasting during this era
Seeing this movie not knowing what it was about was eye opening and life changing. It was such an experience. Omg the nostalgia I feel right now!! How I miss being a teenager...
What was it bout
This trailer is still the best trailer for any movie I’ve ever seen. Everything about it makes me feel like I’m watching it again for the first time. The music is fantastic and the editing is great. I also love how the people that made this decided to leave the whole arena part out. Genius.
"They want only good show."
By killing people? No.
Katniss is famous so whole World want to see how brave and strong she is.
But strength isn't enough. Katniss proves that she is smart and has deep empathy and that's the reason why people see hope in her. Besides, people like to look at Fresh Young LOVE so Katniss & Peeta are the best couple.
