If I am not mistaken, the RPM team is sponsored by Replay XD cameras. So that would explain the "not so good" video quality, couple that with dirt on the lens, and there is your problem. They are not about to put Go-Pros inside of a truck that is sponsored by Replay XD.
my first comment still stands .... get better cameras guys. if truly sponsored by replay xd, then guys at xd step up, this footage speaks volumes before your words and rpm, better cameras benefits the crew the vehicle, sponsors and drivers in terms of exposure. its the digital age and HD is the standard.
so $150 dollar gopro is tons of money to you as compared to the almost half mill dollar vehicle.... hmmmm i think ive been looking at money wrong my whole life then
It would cost them tons to get a proper footage of a 1,000+ mile race. Mexico makes it tough to get a helicopter, and it would be next to impossible to film a whole race without spending MEGA bucks. Like I said, Sponsors in desert racing provide hardly anything. I know a TT team and they sometimes usually only get "reduced" prices, not even free product. A big reason why desert racing is not as popular is because lack of exposure, because it costs SO much to film something so big.
It could have been the way the video was compiled. They truly are sponsored by Replay XD, and why would they turn down a sponsor? Replay XD sponsors there Stadium Super Trucks program too. The footage on them is good, but I do agree not as great as GoPro, if you're really going to complain about a dirty lens not that bad quality 10 second video clip, you probably should just pack up and go head on over to F1, because desert racing is not for you.
the reason sponsors give racers money is so they can advertise, its so they can be seen in a glorified way, it is to the sponsors advantage to have good quality video so that they can be seen. they wouldnt print fuzzy posters would they? i was simply pointing out how silly it was to miss such a great opportunity to film great footage, after all doing so wouldnt of costs them all that much now would it.
no im just trolling, ive been following desert racing for many many years and find it amusing of how a simple comment can cause such a lengthy and pointless discussion. nonetheless i feel its important to complain about these things as you never know if our simple pissing contest will inspire something greater, like a replay xd camera thats better than a gopro at half the price..... we can only hope
300,000 dollar race vehicles , million dollar corporations sponsoring them, millions in endorsments all to make the latest in high tech equipment and yet the only onboard footage came from a $20 camera covered in mud, great job guys
Thank you cactus filem
Great video, I loved it

Talk to the creator of this video, Cactus Films, not RPM. All they did was drive as they were being filmed.
