I’m glad you acknowledge that it gets you nervous to talk to him! He IS such a brilliant mind that I always feel nervous for the ones interviewing him!

Thanks for the talk! And mentioned the " german identity" , and how to bare the weight if history. In Lessons in school we talked and read about thouse 12 years from1933-1945. We got fed up! So for me the true lesson was, that my husband used to be very hostile , that surprised me. Than I looked at our personal history and that of our forfathers. After some research I found our that his grandparents had to hide in the woods way east, to survive- while my grandfather was a german soldier go after such persons.
I understood that once we where not able to talk it over properly and morne about it together, there was no future.our sons have to bear the peacework inside, what a " blessing".

Well that bent my mind like a pretzel and i thoroughly enjoyed it. That Christianity was homeless. Brilliant.

I'm listening to your intro and want to say that the music only gets in the way of easy listening.

Brian, thanks for that discussion with Stephen. Thoughtful and vulnerable. Some of the best songs have sad lyrics and joyful melody. Loneliness, longing for love, peace and joy. Yep. We can relate, brother. My dad died in May of this year. Can I live better? Let’s see. I think so…I am writing that story one day at a time. Sober since September 14, 1989. Sobriety helps and hurts. ❤ You know what I mean. 33 years in and getting more and more ignorant. Maybe a good thing. 😂 Thanks again for being a person of depth. 👊🏼 May you find what you long for.

Could it be that we are realizing deep down inside that we are not "from here"? Not necessarily to a particular geographical location but rather this planet...??? I say this because I've experienced these feelings myself...

@55:××, when stephen says social work is a desecrated clergy work....i have noticed this in with other groups, such as Rastas' in west africa i would say to them, you are social workers without a job description

Tell me more...I'm not familiar with Géza. Thanks for listening Katalin - Brian

Jenkinson’s brilliance reminds me of Röhring. Both very wise multifaceted humans, both were around death daily (Röhring doing the ritual washing and dressing of the dead before burial.)

I googled the name and the information that appeared -"Giza Röhrig is a hungarin actor" - made me wonder how he could possibly be of relevance when talking about Stephen Jenkinson.

@@Ru_Xi Géza Röhrig is used to being around death, on screen and off ... taking care of the ritual washing and dressing of the dead before burial. And a poet and orphan and so on.
