“Ral, storm conduit” is great in my Krark spell slinger deck, the copied spell clause is super relevant. I think at one point I had like 14 spell copies on the stack.
Estrid pays for her cost , and ramps you a ton afterwards, creates an enchantment that protects permanents and her ult is just insane. She needs to be in a bant enchantress deck, but many planeswalkers need that.. Justice for estrid!!
Your favorite PW, Liliana Dreadhorde General, is a 6 mana to create one 2/2 zombie. Grave titan is a 6 mana to create TWO 2/2 zombies. So its only logical that Grave titan > Liliana and its the best PW ever.
Hubby has a party deck and I hate that card because it's so good and I was originally going to use it lol. Somehow his butt made a 5 color deck that smashes all of my decks. His 3rd deck. I've been playing magic since I was 14 lol 😆 I blame Vivien.
I do love how the static abilities of Ashiok, Tamiyo and Narset are all primary white abilities that none of those colors really had before. Maybe if they gave a Gideon or Elspeth one of those abilities, it would have made more sense. Especially when you consider that their abilities only effect the opponents, it makes them significantly better then blanket abilities on mostly 1-3 toughness creatures.
Chandra awakened inferno shouldn't be under looked you can stack those emblems, there's no one to get rid of emblems and if she isn't instantly killed that burn adds up quick
I can't believe that WOTC has yet to have ways to steal/give emblems or destroy them. I was really hoping they would've added some emblem interaction in War of the Spark with the addition of so many new planeswalkers.

I love the Liliana that blows up mana dorks on her +1 (last hope). Also makes the cut regarding the "replacing herself" category through bringing back a creature from your graveyard 2 your hand for the -2.
I have a Pramikon prison/ superfriends deck that runs a few of your traps, but its a corner case. That deck looks to lock the board up and get emblems. Wincon is emblems, patience, and ops killing each other
32:34 I actually disagree with this opinion. Especially when he is used in a singleton format, Jace the Mind Sculptor's zero ability is really good. It's a reusable Brainstorm/Divining Top on a planeswalker. And while top is probably better because it can't be attacked, Jace also has his plus one which can help you deal with deal with your opponents. You will probably never ult with him so don't build your deck around it, but otherwise, it's a great card that is super useful in certain decks.
I am honestly using Dovin Grand Arbiter lots in my cawblade styled deck with medomai as commander, the +1 with the extra turn or two extra turns I get becomes like a +5 or so, the ult is also really neat
Teferi, Master of Time is a HOUSE in my Gavi deck. Gavi generates blockers and profits off the extra draw, while Teferi builds up to an ultimate to give me more time to search for a combo or beat down with tokens. The card really should be a staple, and I predict it's gonna shoot up in price once it gets featured on a big show like Game Knights or something, but any extra synergies are just icing on the cake.
The ral infinite was in standard for an entire rotation. What strixhaven did basically run 3-5 more copies of different cards that effectively say “if you copy any iteration of reverberate you win the game”, some of which only cost 2 or 3 mana.
Freyalise Llanowar's Fury has been great in decks for me. + to get a llanowar elf, - to naturalize (removal for enchantement/artifacts) and the ult is to draw for each green creature. The repeatable naturalize is what puts it over the top for me.
I always thought it would be cool if planeswalkers could be treated as creatures with their power and toughness equal to their loyalty counters. And they couldn’t attack if they used a loyalty ability that turn. And they could still be targeted for attacks

I play a Chandra Tribal Deck with Torbran as commander. It is full of wipes to keep the board clean and let Chandra set the world on fire. It is super fun and has always a big impact on the game.
Ajani the greathearted is really good in my trelasarra moon dancer deck. Often it's not seen as the number one target so it sees a lot of turns being used. And that vigilance buff is great on trelasarra as an alternate until I get trample on it.
I was also surprised they thought this card was so awful. They did seem to think that the -2 was an anthem and not a +1/+1 counter mechanic - it's won me quite a few games
I've been running Nissa of Shadowed Boughs [ZNR] in my Gitrog deck and it can be pretty formidable. Can get absurdly high loyalty and both helps ramp you (especially with lands like lotus field / lotus vale / scorched ruins) or reanimate basically anything in your graveyard. Probably not a 9-10 power level card but still very solid.
I do enjoy seeing you guys when you explain, but I think it would be nice just having the card on the screen for viewers to read them. Not everyone watching will know the cards. I like to read cards while the explanation is being presented in the background. By the way, great video! Keep your awesomeness up!
The amount of times I have gotten all of my vraskas ultimate's off makes me laugh at your decision X'D Would love to play against you guys and show you the WAY.
Ajani has counter synergy, it's narrow but is an ok option in decks that need counters on a commander. But again you can get things like Cathar's Crusade in that slot which have a much larger impact on your board overall.
I think Tezzeret the Schemer is an underrated Planeswalker. You can +1 to get what is essentially treasure tokens and his -2 is spot removal that can kill indestructible creatures. I have even used his ulti, as bad as it is, to increase my creature count and use it to finish my opponents quiker. The best is when I played this Turn 2 off a turn 1 Sol Ring and proceeded to ramp up mana for the rest of the game only using the spot removal when needed.
Everyone says JtMS has +2 fateseal, but there is the hidden mode of +2 scry. Doesn’t make it better, but it’s an option and probably better than hitting an opponent with it
My old Muldtotha deck ran two of those Vraskas mostly for the fact that I'm allergic to nonperminant spells and they were some of my removal for a deck that has cooler creatures to pull from it's graveyard. Granted, it heavily decreased their costs to 2 each (net one with the pirate vraska), but I guess that's were your recurring "unless it's synergistic" comment keeps coming in
No love for Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner? The -1 is super useful for the same reasons the Garruk +1 is (plus it works with dorks and creatures with tap abilities) and it also has a very decent passive. Ánd it has a ton of loyalty so it will probably live through the first rotation. It works wonders in my Roon list; ramp into Roon, draw a card for playing Roon, and potential to ramp/draw even more
I had a game the other day for the person the most behind put it out against windgrace who was way ahead amnd basically just stopped there game. We need 1 or 2 more cards with an effect like Immortal Sun. Evne if it is just " pay X: Players can’t activate planeswalkers’ loyalty abilities till the end of turn"
Phyrexian Revoker, Pithing Needle, and Sorcerous Spyglass are good for single targets and can go in any deck, also Nahiri's Binding if you play with a W Commander. There's probably a few that I missed.
WAR Narset is a card I have in a few of my decks, but I feel I should pull her. She actively works against Smothering Tithe. Frequently she just dies before she can even prevent someone's card draw.
I think Kaya, Ghost Assassin is one of the most underrated walkers out there. It consistently generates huge advantage for me. I also think the 3 mana Kaya is a trap that I've seen a few people play but it's pretty awful
I'm confused why you guys dislike Domri Anarch of Bolas so much. It's essentially a mana rock that buffs your creatures and can double as removal via fighting. I think your right that's it not amazing, but that also adds to it cause no one sees as a dangerous threat, so it just sits there gaining you value. tl;dr Domri is a GOOD card but not a GREAT card
I found out that Ugin, the Ineffable is really good in a kykar deck, since you can sacrifice the spirit that his second ability gives you, giving you the exiled card and 1 red mana.
Urza is not a valid commander, unless your play group is ok with him being your commander. He was apart of that funny janky unhinged set that was only "commander legal" for like 2 months. If I could recommend a commander for super friends it would be Golos, Tireless Pilgrim or Jodah Archmage Eternal. Jodah is my commander and I run 37 planeswalkers.
With the new midnight hunt werewolf cards that released, i think all of the Domri planeswalkers are alot better now with tovolar. All of their effects when your creatures coming in Nightbound is crazy, i’ve done some spicy plays with Domri Rade’s ultimate since werewolfs can dish out alot of damage at once
Weird rant, I decided to cut my nicol bolas, planeswalker for a mox diamond and while it seems EXTREMELY obvious why it was such a hard choice for me to make because I literally love nicol bolas so much. I was literally like there has to be literally anything else, but also literally I decided to do it because like yall said the cmc is just too much

I had Jace’s duplicate the other day, playing Brawl not commander, and got double chandra torch of defiance for 10 damage per spell played! It was awesome but i was already so ahead i didnt even need it
Favorite Planeswalkers of mine (that aren't staples) Saheeli Rai: BUSTED. Cheap, gives me infinites, and if not infinites, free attacks Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord: SUPER Underrated for aristocrat or graveyard decks. Free pings, free lifegain, and if you ever need a clutch revive for a combo or an ETB trigger it won't take long (if any time at all) Dirt cheap too, both in mana and in price! Can't protect himself for Jack but he's very VERY easy to get along with. Kaya, Geist Hunter Token doubling. PURE defense and pure combos. Must have for any aristocrat deck. Cheap for mana too
Sorin, Grim Nemesis has won me games in my Golos deck when he hits the table. Doubling Season with a Purphoros or Impact Tremors on board has dealt an instant 80 to 160 damage to each opponent.
I use Domri anarch of bolas in my high power grumgully deck (yes I know that sounds stupid) and it works really well since my entire combo is creature based, and its minus has won me games, one of them last night actually, since I was able to get a containment priest off the field. It's versatile enough for late game if I wasn't able to go off on turn 4 or 5, which is hard to do when the board gets staxed out
@@NitpickingNerds I run JTMS in my Kydele/Tvesh Szatt Superfriends deck. His 0 makes my commander tap for minimum of 4, which enables me to go infinite with Umbral Mantle. I've also managed to get his ult off twice, one of those times I copied it to hit 2 players. Otherwise agreed, he's way too overrated
I would argue that mother of runes is also a great one mana planeswalker. Abilities include making your guy unblockable, countering a spell that targets a creature you control, making your guy take no damage when they block, protecting a creature from a damage based board wipe.

Your favorite one because you pulled it in a booster, becausee you like a busted combo, or because its just Cool. Zendikar Sorin and 1st Tamyo my Favs.
My favorite Planeswalkers are Kaya, Geist Hunter. She has built in doubling season which is Godlike for my token deck, She can give those tokens Deathtouch next turn for her +1 Making it a Potential Board wipe, and her Ultimate Can very very quickly flood the Board. Exiling everyones Graveyards and making Spirit tokens for each card exiled. Just >mwah< Amazing Planeswalker. I also use Garruk Cursed Huntsman as a Finisher combo for Ghave Guru of spores. Play his 0 Ability, Sacc those Wolves to pump Ghave and make Garruk capable of Ultimating & Surviving it immediately, Ultimate next turn to give Ghave Trample & +3/+3 with his emblem. Then win with Commander damage or play Tainted Strike and win with Infect damage.
Grave Titan destroyed the camera from all the disrespect xdxd Huatli, Radiant Champion is a better trap than some of the traps, lower power level card - literally does nothing with its + but the ult is pretty nice, especially in token decks, need 4creatures to be able to ult next turn.
I put the doom of fools into my son of yawgmoth deck..... Only ever cast it once....but it ended with me killing my opponents with their own commander... Very nice
You guys are underestimating little Domri :) Mana dork, mini anthem, creatures cannot be countered and removal? Come on :) Let me give you an example: Sisay, Weatherlight Captain. Domri is Golden there. Gives Sisay +3/+3 on his own, which makes her a 5/5 which can now remove most things on the battlefield with his -2. Or you can just use him as a mana dork and make sure they don't counter the creatures that matter. It is good especially in higher power metas imho.
I'd love a real Planeswalker card with the following ultimate ability: -10: Up to two target opponents lose the game. If they were particularly nitpicky, create a 6/6 black Giant creature token with deathtouch. It has "When this creature enters the battlefield or attacks, create two 2/2 black Zombie creature tokens."
Didn't watch the video but every mono black deck needs to run Sorin Markov just for that "target players life total becomes 10." Several times over have I dropped him early in the game and absolutely eviscerated an opponent
My hands down FAVORITE pw is Kaya, the inexorable. Maybe it's just me, but she has STUPID value. A very reachable ult, which let's you recast her every. Single. Turn. At that point she's a free cast removal card, if you decide not to use her to recur or cast any other legendary in your deck. If you're in wb control, she is a MUST INCLUDE
I am curious why huatli radiant champion isn’t that high. Plus 1 she gets more equal to the number of creatures on board (almost always in ult range) then ult range she give emblem that all creatures have etb draw a card, and the middle is a might of masses
I had to remove sorin and the sphynx that brings opponents to 10 hp from my decks cause people kept saying that's unfair magic... cause well, we often play 2hg commander and I actually won many games that way.. nowdays we play 2v2 with mixed turns and 40hp each.. anyway, bit unfair but not as unfair as infinite combos or 21 commander damage in 1 turn.
You guys are talking about just about the power level i want my decks to be, plus i was also thinking the same thing about Tamiyo, Field Researcher in my Arcades deck, she's cool and pretty good but if you're trying to improve your deck she surely is on the chopping block.

I have Jace in Aminatou. He’s good when your deck cares about the top card of your deck. But I think that is the only exception.

Sorrin imperious bloodlord is a bomb in mardu vampires (or really color vampires). But I think he’ was better in standard

My old Muldtotha deck ran two of those Vraskas mostly for the fact that I'm allergic to nonperminant spells and they were some of my removal for a deck that has cooler creatures to pull from it's graveyard. Granted, it heavily decreased their costs to 2 each (net one with the pirate vraska), but I guess that's were your recurring "unless it's synergistic" comment keeps coming in
I run Karn, Scion of Urza in my Goblin Welder/Engineer, Helm of the Host, Godo and Aurelia Ghired, Conclave Exile deck and he is an absolute machine
No love for Kiora, Behemoth Beckoner? The -1 is super useful for the same reasons the Garruk +1 is (plus it works with dorks and creatures with tap abilities) and it also has a very decent passive. Ánd it has a ton of loyalty so it will probably live through the first rotation. It works wonders in my Roon list; ramp into Roon, draw a card for playing Roon, and potential to ramp/draw even more
Immortal Sun
I had a game the other day for the person the most behind put it out against windgrace who was way ahead amnd basically just stopped there game. We need 1 or 2 more cards with an effect like Immortal Sun. Evne if it is just " pay X: Players can’t activate planeswalkers’ loyalty abilities till the end of turn"

Phyrexian Revoker, Pithing Needle, and Sorcerous Spyglass are good for single targets and can go in any deck, also Nahiri's Binding if you play with a W Commander. There's probably a few that I missed.
Best planeswalker in my liesa tax deck is definitely sorin markov, you have 10 life and can cast 5 spells before you die
WAR Narset is a card I have in a few of my decks, but I feel I should pull her. She actively works against Smothering Tithe. Frequently she just dies before she can even prevent someone's card draw.
I’m pretty sure that if you have smothering tithe and Narset out at once, you’re doing pretty well for yourself.
I think Kaya, Ghost Assassin is one of the most underrated walkers out there. It consistently generates huge advantage for me. I also think the 3 mana Kaya is a trap that I've seen a few people play but it's pretty awful

I'm confused why you guys dislike Domri Anarch of Bolas so much. It's essentially a mana rock that buffs your creatures and can double as removal via fighting. I think your right that's it not amazing, but that also adds to it cause no one sees as a dangerous threat, so it just sits there gaining you value. tl;dr Domri is a GOOD card but not a GREAT card
Counter point: Liliana of the Dark Realms goes good in Lord Windgrace, or a landfall deck that has black.

I found out that Ugin, the Ineffable is really good in a kykar deck, since you can sacrifice the spirit that his second ability gives you, giving you the exiled card and 1 red mana.
In a tokens deck just replace Elspeth, Sun's Champion for Elesh Norn and I promise you'll be happier. It's essentially her last 2 abilities combined.

Urza is not a valid commander, unless your play group is ok with him being your commander. He was apart of that funny janky unhinged set that was only "commander legal" for like 2 months. If I could recommend a commander for super friends it would be Golos, Tireless Pilgrim or Jodah Archmage Eternal. Jodah is my commander and I run 37 planeswalkers.

With the new midnight hunt werewolf cards that released, i think all of the Domri planeswalkers are alot better now with tovolar. All of their effects when your creatures coming in Nightbound is crazy, i’ve done some spicy plays with Domri Rade’s ultimate since werewolfs can dish out alot of damage at once

Weird rant, I decided to cut my nicol bolas, planeswalker for a mox diamond and while it seems EXTREMELY obvious why it was such a hard choice for me to make because I literally love nicol bolas so much. I was literally like there has to be literally anything else, but also literally I decided to do it because like yall said the cmc is just too much
Ral, Storms Conduit, and any two copy spells is a win, so when you have Kalamax/Riku. It’s a pretty easy win.

Saheeli Rai: BUSTED. Cheap, gives me infinites, and if not infinites, free attacks
Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord: SUPER Underrated for aristocrat or graveyard decks. Free pings, free lifegain, and if you ever need a clutch revive for a combo or an ETB trigger it won't take long (if any time at all) Dirt cheap too, both in mana and in price! Can't protect himself for Jack but he's very VERY easy to get along with.
Kaya, Geist Hunter
Token doubling. PURE defense and pure combos. Must have for any aristocrat deck. Cheap for mana too
Sorin, Grim Nemesis has won me games in my Golos deck when he hits the table. Doubling Season with a Purphoros or Impact Tremors on board has dealt an instant 80 to 160 damage to each opponent.
I use Domri anarch of bolas in my high power grumgully deck (yes I know that sounds stupid) and it works really well since my entire combo is creature based, and its minus has won me games, one of them last night actually, since I was able to get a containment priest off the field. It's versatile enough for late game if I wasn't able to go off on turn 4 or 5, which is hard to do when the board gets staxed out

@@NitpickingNerds I run JTMS in my Kydele/Tvesh Szatt Superfriends deck. His 0 makes my commander tap for minimum of 4, which enables me to go infinite with Umbral Mantle. I've also managed to get his ult off twice, one of those times I copied it to hit 2 players. Otherwise agreed, he's way too overrated
Domri is good in ONE deck, and that deck is Neyith. Tacking “draw a card” into that minus is sweet.
Also pretty decent in fast sisay decks. Tutor for domri. Sisay becomes 3 power bigger, tutor for wincon next turn
Karn, the Great Creator is now top card in Osgir decks - he can take back stuff, you exile with Osgir .

I would argue that mother of runes is also a great one mana planeswalker. Abilities include making your guy unblockable, countering a spell that targets a creature you control, making your guy take no damage when they block, protecting a creature from a damage based board wipe.

My favorite Planeswalkers are
Kaya, Geist Hunter. She has built in doubling season which is Godlike for my token deck, She can give those tokens Deathtouch next turn for her +1 Making it a Potential Board wipe, and her Ultimate Can very very quickly flood the Board. Exiling everyones Graveyards and making Spirit tokens for each card exiled. Just >mwah< Amazing Planeswalker.
I also use Garruk Cursed Huntsman as a Finisher combo for Ghave Guru of spores. Play his 0 Ability, Sacc those Wolves to pump Ghave and make Garruk capable of Ultimating & Surviving it immediately, Ultimate next turn to give Ghave Trample & +3/+3 with his emblem. Then win with Commander damage or play Tainted Strike and win with Infect damage.
Love the Ugin the Virgin nickname. Will use going forward.
Best planeswalker? Easily Deathrite Shaman. It adds mana, drains opponents, and hates on graveyards.

Huatli, Radiant Champion is a better trap than some of the traps, lower power level card - literally does nothing with its + but the ult is pretty nice, especially in token decks, need 4creatures to be able to ult next turn.

Ajani, Mentor of Heroes does a lot of work in certain decks, he's really good in Kyler.
I put the doom of fools into my son of yawgmoth deck..... Only ever cast it once....but it ended with me killing my opponents with their own commander... Very nice

Mana dork, mini anthem, creatures cannot be countered and removal? Come on :)
Let me give you an example: Sisay, Weatherlight Captain. Domri is Golden there. Gives Sisay +3/+3 on his own, which makes her a 5/5 which can now remove most things on the battlefield with his -2. Or you can just use him as a mana dork and make sure they don't counter the creatures that matter. It is good especially in higher power metas imho.
I'd love a real Planeswalker card with the following ultimate ability:
-10: Up to two target opponents lose the game. If they were particularly nitpicky, create a 6/6 black Giant creature token with deathtouch. It has "When this creature enters the battlefield or attacks, create two 2/2 black Zombie creature tokens."

Deathrite Shaman is the most power per mana cost of any Planeswalker. Definitely worth playing.
Didn't watch the video but every mono black deck needs to run Sorin Markov just for that "target players life total becomes 10." Several times over have I dropped him early in the game and absolutely eviscerated an opponent
My hands down FAVORITE pw is Kaya, the inexorable. Maybe it's just me, but she has STUPID value. A very reachable ult, which let's you recast her every. Single. Turn. At that point she's a free cast removal card, if you decide not to use her to recur or cast any other legendary in your deck. If you're in wb control, she is a MUST INCLUDE
I will make a case for Mind Sculptor being relevant in a niche role in top deck manipulation heavy deck, like Keranos or Yennette.
Building a deck around the planeswalker that steals artifacts and Karn sounds a little spicy
Tevesh Szat as a commander is comparable to Tymna. A decent number of competitive farm lists are running Tevesh instead of Tymna

I had to remove sorin and the sphynx that brings opponents to 10 hp from my decks cause people kept saying that's unfair magic... cause well, we often play 2hg commander and I actually won many games that way.. nowdays we play 2v2 with mixed turns and 40hp each.. anyway, bit unfair but not as unfair as infinite combos or 21 commander damage in 1 turn.
