I remember writers at the time the episode aired saying they were going to write a whole arc of Angel going down a dark path, and when breaking this episode, realizing he was already there.

Once Darla is re-born as a Vampire we know there is going to be trouble with those two. Love the bit in Reunion when Holland Manners says 'we won't have to worry about Angel' and he flies through the broken window ( there must be a broken window count in this series, it must be astronomical ). Manners get his comeuppance when Angel just locks the door leaving Darla and Dru to feast on the Wolfram & Hart employees. Angel goes real bad ass at the end when the fires the rest of his team.

Dru is loopier than a roller-coaster, but there is some method in her madness. She does see Darla. re-born as a vampire, as her child.

Maybe the lawyers did. But Holland encouraged Lindsey to bring a date. Did none of the other lawyers bring a spouse, girlfriend, boyfriend? Were there catering staff? Holland's wife didn't seem evil, and Angel apparently left her to bleed to death on the floor after she begged him to come in and save them. He probably had to step over her dying body as he walked out.
"It would have happened with or without him."
He didn't just walk away, he locked them in. Not only is he now partly responsible for the massacre when he wouldn't have been if he just wasn't there because he was helping someone else on the other side of town, but the lock is on the outside of the door and the lawyers outnumbered the vampires. It's possible that someone who would have survived if they'd been able to run for the door is now dead, when they didn't have to be.

Those people who know W&H are evil and did nothing about it and in fact, received benefits of being a spouse to or providing services to evil are also evil. At least they knew there could be risks involved.

​@@gungho1284 but it is quite possible that some of the non-lawyer guests do not, in fact, know that W&H is more evil than a random firm of lawyers; W&H operates on multiple levels, and it is likely most of the lawyers don't talk to anyone outside the firm about anything supernatural.
