    My first "big motorcycle" was this kind of Z500 Kawasaki. I loved the sound and the looks!

      Thanks for your comment 👍👍!! Love the sound and the looks as well... 💚 My first "big bike" was a Honda CB550 Four, which is still love to this day. So I can put myself in your shoes easily 😉 Take care & have a good one!

      Thx for your comment... I agree, it is a great motorcycle... Did you sell both of them or do you still own one today? What kind of bike - if any - do you ride today?

    • @cikazika9143
      @cikazika9143 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I had to sell both if them,now I have 1996 ninja 600 cc,but looking for some old z500 or 750 boldor.Sorry for my bad English 😆 greetings from Serbia! 😊

      @@cikazika9143 Hi Zika, a 600 ninja is a pretty nice bike as well... 👍👍 I'll keep my fingers crossed, that you will be able to find a z500 in good condition at a fair price, so you will have the pleasure to ride the Screaming Little Sister again in future times!! If you can not find one, a Boldor would not be THE worst alternative after all 😉. Your English is actually pretty good, so feel free to comment on other videos as well in order to practice it, just try to write what you think... Best regards to Serbia, keep riding and have a fantastic week!!! Cheers 👍

    Have just been given this bike to use while I am on my learners...a great bike, and enjoying my time on it before it goes back home!

    I didn't even know the Z500 existed! Thanks for sharing

      Hi Paulie, you are welcome... The fact that virtually nobody knows about this bike as well as its 40. anniversary were some of the reasons why we made this video...

    Had one with small Bikini fairing and it looked like a Z1R in Black, loved it so much regret not still having it. Good enough for highway here in Western Australia

    Super video, i really like it, but if you can upload without, or very low music it should be awesome.

    Hey KICKSTART Motorcycle Squad, since you seemed to care, here´s a little update for you: The old KZ400J is alive and kicking! Just took her out for first test run around the block. Carbs in the end gave me a bit of a headache, - had to rebuild them twice due to low quality replacement parts. Float valve needles and gaskets made in who knows where, - what the *!=(/(&6*! Stay away from these cheap ebay trade rebuild kits unless you´re up to long hours in the shop. Tourmax gaskets and original needles finally fixed the mess. Now she purrs like a kitten. Have to admit that I went for the Kawasaki green colour scheme (I think model ´83?) cause I never could bring myself to really like the ´82 stock metallic blue. Suits her well to finally go green in 2020 :)))
    Cheers

      Hi mate, just found your comment, thanks a lot for the update 👍👍!! Good advice on not using cheap ebay parts, glad that the carbs are now in good order and that it purrs like a kitten again 😉😉 I hope you'll be able to ride it a lot this year and would love to see a photo of the bike with its new paint job.... 💚 Take care & have a great weekend my friend!!

    Nice one! These little chainsaws are not forgotten, but a bit neglected for sure. Currently working on my old KZ400J wich looks pretty much the same as the 500b ("only" 43 hp due to 100cc less). Has been sitting for 15 years now and is in pretty rough shape after almost 100.000 km of my youth in rain and shine and all these years in the shadow of the barn. Your video gave me an extra kick to get the old girl running again as soon as possible. That sound is still in my ears. Rumbling in idle like a tractor but throaty to nasty when revs go up. Can´t legally have that in a modern bike anymore, can you?
    Cheers

      Very well said, thank you very much for your comment, Fminus104 👍👍 I really like the fact that you kept and stored your KZ400J for such a long time (💚)... Although in a rough condition, you will be able to rebuilt her into a beautiful, shiny little classic bike... maybe you'll even be able to ride it again next season already!! That should bring back a lot of memories... Glad that our video helped to motivate you to finish your project!! Regarding the sound, I also guess you can't have that anymore - unfortunately 😉 ... Best wishes & a happy new year!!

    Schönes Video - Daumen hoch!
    Allerdings hätte ich mir für die Vorstellung eines 70'er Jahre Mopeds auch 70'er Jahre Klamotten gewünscht.

      Hi Peter, vielen Dank!! Mit Schlaghose zu fahren, ist mir zu riskant ;-) Im Schrank hängt noch eine Lederkombi meiner Mutter aus den 70ern in rot/grün... ich selbst passe da nicht rein, das wird wohl auch nach ner längeren Diät nix mehr werden, aber meine Freundin wird die Kombi in einem der nächsten Videos tragen... passend zu unseren Klassikern... Beste Grüße & bis bald

    Always wanted one of these when I was young, finished up with an RD350LC, the bike in the video is in pristine condition. They are very hard to get here in Australia, most are in poor condition or have been cafe modded which is sacrilege. I'm still looking for one!

    • @KICKSTARTMotorcycleSquad
      @KICKSTARTMotorcycleSquad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi mate, thanks a lot for your comment 👍👍!! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you will be able to find one in Down Under!! I would prefer to buy one in poor condition and try to rebuild it myself, which would probably not be easy and would need quite some time, instead of buying a cafe mod, but that is a question of taste 😉 Best greetings to Australia!

      Hi Mr Doodle...a friend here in Wollongong has lent me his as I have just got my Ls and I am using it to get my experience on the road before I decide what to get long-term. Its a great bike, and in fantastic condition. I tell folk it is 41 years old, and they cant believe it!! And neither can I...
