I’ve been wanting a Batman Beyond movie for what seems like forever. My casting for the film would have Keaton be the old Batman and Mark Hamill as the Joker and Lori Petty as Harley Quinn. I could never decide on who would play Terry, but think a relative unknown would work best. As for the story I think Powers would be a good villain for the first film. I think a good reason for Batman giving up the mantle would be he killed Joker. So the beginning would be them facing off and Bruce killing him. Maybe Harley survives and uses Powers to get back at Batman.
Troy baker did a great job in the origins game but nothing compares to mark, and I doubt these things will happen DC is a mess especially under WB. We can see that in the present day movies and comics...but who knows one day perhaps a miracle happens.

Both Alan Burnett and Paul Dini have confirmed that they were pretty far along with the live action script when the project was shelved. So there is an almost completed live action Batman Beyond movie script lying around somewhere at WB. Ryan Arey You’re so right. It’s time. Two perfect plots. I thought a long time ago about a Batman Beyond movie and then I was too afraid my memory of the wonderful anime would be spoiled by an imperfect movie but… let’s be brave and ask for it!!
While Batman Beyond is great, I really wanna see a live action Under the Red Hood. Then follow it up by a Bat Family movie. EDIT: I'm tired of seeing a young or old Batman always portrayed on the big screen, (same goes with Superman, either he's a dad or he's evil) what we need is a Batman in his prime. Complete with his Robins. Give us Batman and Superman from the comics.
We had that with Batman Forever and Batman and Robin.... We need something new. Time to move on to Batman Beyond. If we're going to keep doing Bruce Wayne/Batman, at least move on from Dick Grayson. Bring in Jason Todd and Night Wing.
I would debate that "Batman beyond return of the joker" is the definitive movie for the show and that it even adapts the Red Hood plot into its narrative with its own twist.
I know you love the X-Men Animated Series theme, but for me the Batman Beyond theme is my favorite superhero theme song. Furthermore, BB is my second favorite superhero animated show right behind Justice League Unlimited. Terry McGinnis is a great character with a new and different approach to being the Batman. He has a family, he's trying to do the right thing but still making mistakes, but unlike a Year One Batman he is not alone. He's not a sidekick either, so he's flying without a net (back up), but he's not flying solo either. Bruce is there to guide him, but Bruce also has a tendency to keep things from him. Bruce has scars too that have formed since he domed the cowl all those years ago. I would love a BB movie, and yes I am biased because I love the original BB series so much.
Personally I prefer to have the Red Hood storyline as a sequel. It sounds really cool, but for Terry's origin story you have to have Blight/Powers. One of the many reasons why Batman Beyond is my favorite superhero is because of his great rogue's gallery: Blight, Inque, Curare, Stalker, Shriek, the Royal Flush Gang, even Willie Watt and Spellbinder. Having Blight and Inque in the first movie would be amazing to see. Then a Red Hood movie, and finally a Joker movie.

And Jason's death is already such big thing that I could totally imagine that being the catalyst for Bruce retiring. Ugh, it's so smart. Kudos to you! As an aside, I would like for Terry's batsuit to be less Iron Man, and more nanotech weave. It'll keep his silhouette simple and sleek, it'll be more similar to his animated look than an armored suit, and it'll emphasize his more acrobatic fighting style and leaner physique compared to an older Bruce.

I agree that as much as l love seeing Bruce Wayne, I would like to see something different yet similar. I was 5-8yrs old watching Batman Beyond. I remember when McDonald's had the "Inque" bendable toy. She was a fun character that could be used in a film adaptation. Also it's funny many of us thought Robert P. was going to do Batman Beyond because he wasn't bulking up for the role.
The actor to play old Bruce should be the guy who does animated Bruce's voice from the 90s. Hes old enough to look the part. Plus, that voice. That voice is batman
I've been thinking of a batman beyond movie for a while. I can see someone like Jon Hamm as a retired Dick Grayson, someone Terry can turn to for help when Bruce is being stubborn and hidden behind emotional walls he puts up
If you have not been approached by a major production to actively participate in a project (which would not at all surprise me had it already happened) I would bet large amounts of cash that I don't own, yet would be responsible for should I lose it. Wicked Super-Hero-Story wisdom Sir, mad Respect.
I want nothing more than for DC to update Batman permanently to be older and using his Beyond Suit. It was the coolest look for him, and the suit brings him to a realistic level to go toe to toe with the expanded DC Universe. Then in 2039 they can permanently place Terry as his successor.
I would love to have a batman beyond movie. For a long time now i thought that it should be keaton as old bruce and that should probly take off from where we left off in the tim verse. But i do like the idea of the red hood, you made a lot of good points about the symmetry of the justice vs vengeance theme. I just hope that the WB doesnt screw it up.
Some real quick suggestions, they should initially ask Christian bale to be terry's mentor in a live action Batman beyond movie, bale could appear as he did in the beginning of tdkr, his appearance from years of crime flighting and subsequent retirement to train terry as the new futuristic batman. Batman beyond would be great if produced as a futuristic crime noir as the most recent blade runner film was, except of course batmans story would set it apart from blade runner
Fantastic ideas for a live-action Batman Beyond movie. I really love the Red Hood Robin as the villain of the movie, and either Michael Keaton or George Clooney, since they were each the main Batman at one point themselves,.. although Josh Brolin could a good old-Batman also.

Love the Red Hood idea, but I’d keep Batman going past Jason but still almost losing Tim like in the animated movie. That way we could have The Return of the Joker for the third movie or future.
Dude. I gotta tell you. THIS WOULD BE THE BEST FUCKING THING HOLY SHIT. JOSH BROLIN AND WILLIAM DAFOE HELL YEAH
The actor to play old Bruce should be the guy who does animated Bruce's voice from the 90s. Hes old enough to look the part. Plus, that voice. That voice is batman
Best shock start to any spin off show ever.
You’re killing it with the updates!!! 👌🏾👌🏾
I always wanted a Batman Beyond movie. Since 10 years or more, ago.
DONT aim for a trilogy, hollywood needs to just forget that word and not be worried about trying everything up in a nice bow after a 3rd story
I grew up with Batman Beyond. I was so happy to see it in HBO Max. Time to rewatch it!! 😊
I gotta agree with you 100 percent on this one. Batman beyond live action with a return of Jason Todd as the main villain. Such a cool idea!!
7:45 I like how he used the clip from the uncensored Return of the Joker
I want nothing more than for DC to update Batman permanently to be older and using his Beyond Suit. It was the coolest look for him, and the suit brings him to a realistic level to go toe to toe with the expanded DC Universe. Then in 2039 they can permanently place Terry as his successor.
I love how his suit actually covers his chin.
Thanks a lot ScreenCrush. Now I want this movie, this exact pitch, and knowing WarnerMedia I’ll never have it! 😫
Exactly, excellent opportunity for a Batman of the future movie
it’s a perfect idea for keaton to be bruce again, perfect
Good pitch!
Maybe have Kevin Conroy himself play old man Bruce Wayne.
Kevin is BATMAN!!! He is only 66 right now so he is still spry enough for a few action moments. Conroy is the voice of Batman.
I would LOVE this movie so much, I never really knew about the Batman beyond show growing up but I wish I did
They better give you all the writing credits and a massive check for this story
my favourte batman series ever, awesome intro theme, it was epic
I have always wanted a live action Batman beyond movie, I think it could be smth legendary but the hard thing could be creating new villains
Maaannnn I’ve been waiting for this video !!!!
A mate and I were discussing almost exactly this on the weekend.
Michael Keaton in Batman beyond the next instalment for the Batman franchise go in
Id watch this for sure. Origin story with a main plot point of the suit sounds a bit like spiderman homecoming
Jameson gif was perfection
I'd watch these movies and haven't seen even one episode of Beyond. Well done 👌
I would love a Batman Beyond movie. That needs to happen
There are so many reasons why david zaslav should create a team to produce a live action Batman beyond movie
Yes! I love this vision for a new Batman movie.
I'm hoping one day to direct the batman beyond live action adaptation
So many great visual tributes to Akira too.
Yes I love this one idea and pitch.
I really love the Red Hood Robin as the villain of the movie, and either Michael Keaton or George Clooney, since they were each the main Batman at one point themselves,.. although Josh Brolin could a good old-Batman also.
technically, there was a Batman Beyond movie, just only in animated form
HOLY BALLS, 20 YEARS AGO!!! I WATCHED THIS 20 YRS AGO? Omg, where the hell did the time go? Ahhhhhhhhhh
batman beyond was ahead of its time!!!!
Yesssss!!! I loved Batman Beyond!!❤️
I was thinking Jensen Ackles would be perfect for Terry. They would be idiots to ignore this video. This could be incredible.
