My original 66 gt350 carryover is used almost strictly at the track.
There’s a very big difference between driving hard and thrashing your car, old matey here does both though 😂😂

I remember when Hertz decided to get rid of them all ! ALL of them ! I remember driving down from Ventura to LA and I looked at a couple beauties as we walked through the lot ! I remember seeing a couple this color. I was hesitant about having an automatic and my buddy who went down with me kept whispering Z28 in my ear. Nothing ever came of it because my credit was terrible .
Nice to see my neighbors car that sat for 30+ years be put back on the road. Wow! Never thought that would happen. Best 10k spent on a basket case. Thank you Tony. I showed the original owner this video. Ed Goetz was blown away. I remember this car when they brought it home with its warranty motor due to being blown by a rent a racer. Best $2442.00 spent.

Of course Tomy has one of these! When he brings a car, I know I'm gonna see him toss it around. He actually drives these things like they were intended to be driven!

I remember when they (Hertz) sold them all on one Weekend at Pomona , I did not have the money you would not believe the good deals they had on these cars

This is like the third video i have seen with this driver, that has become my favorite, in some of my most favorite cars. a very unique style of driving that fits these cars perfectly
To be honest. My all time favorite car is the 1965 fast back. Fully loaded. But thus one hear the car and year looks ton be the best looking Car on earth. It’s Beautiful.

My buddy bought on of these 2-3 years ago. He was having it restored when a collector saw it at the shop and made him an offer he couldn’t refuse. He bought a very early production, unrestored GT350 last year.

I rented one of these in June 1966, and the day before going off to Marine Corps boot camp. I was 20 years old, so the myth about having to be 25 years old not true. I drag raced all my buddies that night, and the brakes failed while parking in my parents driveway. Hertz waived the $19.00 rental fee because of the mechanical failure. True story. San Diego, CA 6/23/66. Bought a new 1968 Roadrunner for $2,900 after returning home from Vietnam in May of 68; Mustang’s were too expensive at $3,400 for a Fastback 390 and 4 speed.

I've been to a lot of historic races at Laguna Seca. My favorite are the vintage Trans Am and American sports cars of the 60's. The GT350's have an incredible, unique sound and this is a perfect example.
That’s my favorite to watch as well. Nothing like those Trans Am cars screaming and sliding around the track

my grandfather passed away and he left the car to me and here in Puerto Rico the car was near the coast and rusted up, I got it as it is at the moment and it's so expensive to restore but watching these videos really hit me hard man.

i love these thrashed on, raced, driven and beaten on gt350 - i wouldn't want mine any other way.
About 15 years ago I had Tommy drive me around Buttonwillow Raceway in my 2002 SVT Focus and he was much faster than I had ever been. We couldn't pass cars on the straights with only 172hp but he passed a few around the rest of the track where he wasn't supposed to and got a talking to when we came in. I was hanging on for dear life. I've known him for about 35 years through crewing on George Follmer's 70 Trans AM Mustang.

Tomy’s cars are awesome and I love that he drives them like a maniac.
My fave year/model Mustang. Saved my nickels/dimes and got to a point I could see that I would have a chance at one of these......then 'Nam came along. They were all swept up when I got back to life. Nice car. Can-Am and Trans-Am really improved the breed in all the pony cars.
