Katie, your YT channel is my go to when I'm stressed or anxious (being 71 years old and raising 3 grandchildren ages 8, 9, 14; I get that way more often than I want!) You have the most soothing way about you and I am a crafter also. I have your sheep pin on my sheep project bag....so cute. I live in Oregon, USA.
Also, thank you for sharing about overcoming insecurities with professional creative stuff - it makes me feel so much less alone. I feel like we get the most insecure about the things we love most and are good at, because they mean so much. I felt the same way about classical singing for years - but now I've made it to the vocal course at Guildhall. And your art is STUNNING. I'm so glad neither of us gave up on our passions ❤ P.S. I am also obsessed with frogs 🐸
Thank you for another lovely episode Katie. I love your nearly finished jumper, that looks like it will keep you very warm. I've just received a parcel of goodies from your shop, some Christmas gifts for my family. Your shop products are always such good quality.
Lovely video. Bought your socks rubber stamp after watching this. Just wanted to say how happy I am with it. Super quick delivery and beautifully packaged. Couldn’t find anywhere to review on Etsy so just wanted to say a big thank you and a thumbs up for your products. ❤❤. Will be buying more.
Always enjoy your videos especially a walk in that beautiful countryside with dear Jack. Your new jumper is going to be so warm and the colour is beautiful. I so enjoyed your recent walking adventure with Kat too! Take care and hugs to Jack x
Thanks for a great episode. Regarding your bobbin bottleneck, you could pick one of the bobbins you want to empty and make a chain plying ball from singles on it and then ply from the 'pre-chained' ball. This process breaks the chain plying process into two steps. The first step just makes the long 3-stranded chain, which is wound into a ball as the chaining process goes along, and the 2nd step the plies that chain. Spindle spinners use this technique to create chain-plied yarn when all they have is one spindle. I am about to try it myself so I can't speak from experience but I am excited to give it a bash!
The scenery near your home is absolutely stunning. I love the Barn Owl yarn, I can’t wait to see what you make with it. Another really lovely video. Thankyou.
thank you Katie, your drawings are so wonderful hoping I will be able to get a tea towel. Watched your walks with Kat, they were great, you must have been exhausted,so well done.
Broken boiler...nightmare😱 hope the situation gets resolved soon and you're cosy and snug in your little house again🏡My knitting mojo has returned, hooray, and I'm working on a cardi I haven't picked up since April this year and which I actually started in 2017!!! Can't rush these things eh 😂❤️
Thank you Katie for another interesting video. I'm glad you enjoyed your jaunt with Cat--- the videos were good to watch. Your hand spun wool is beautiful and what's not to like about a wooly waistcoat.. Your new tea towel might just have solved one of my Christmas present dilemmas!
Hi, Katie. It’s very good to see you again. I’m glad that you survived your adventure. I love your new tea towel. The pins and the stamps are cute. I like your new sweater and the yarn for your next sweater.
the bobbin debacle made me giggle. I did the same thing when I started spinning except I had a lot more bobbins. then I got into huge tangle with the bobbin I was emptying to use. Lesson learnt I now have a bobbin dedicated to plying use only. its marked and that's the rule - plying only lol
You are so lovely! I enjoy your podcasts so much! I am an artist as well; do you have any tips on getting over the nervous stage? Thanks, and thank you for showing all the wonderful things that you bring to the world!❤❤❤❤
Loved to see this episode as usual :) Maybe a suggestion for the bobbin issue, I would attach a leader thread to one of the bobbins with not too much on it and twine the yarn over the single that's already on. Then take of the twined yarn and have your single that was on it already to use again. (make sure that the end of the single is held with the leader thread or it will unwind, ask me how I know ;)) I hope this makes sense.
What a beautiful location to live and to take a walk with your dog :)
