I love hearing a mention of Benetton! When you said “I guess I’m just saying random words”, I cracked up at the recognition how that happens for me, too.
Oh, I am knitting your Coorie In Poncho and am using a luscious butterscotch color dyed by Cabin Boy Knits using marigolds to dye. And I see your poncho today looks so similar. It is a wonderful pattern. Gratitude for all you share 🥰
Hi Amy, a quick feedback on the sound. I feel terrible saying that it's not so good. Might be a setting you can adjust? Hope you have a wonderful, warm and cosy Christmas season in all your gorgeous knits.
I second that - a cozy and inspiring episode notwithstanding. The sound came out slightly metallic. May you have a very merry solstice celebration and hope you find that special calm that only hours upon hours of binging The Hobbit and LOTR in the midwinter darkness may bring... Happy Yule!
Thank you for another enjoyable vlog. Your Prairie sweater is beautiful. For Winter solstice I started mine today. I haven't crocheted in several years so it was like crawling when I was hoping to run. Silly me I was reading the instructions for the triangle instead of the square. Scratching my head wondering why it was coming out as a triangle instead of square. Several attemps later I realized I had read the wrong section. Well at least now I've masterd the triangle LOL I love your idea of the tutorial KALs. I always enjoy learning new techniques or improving my knitting. Your projects are always so beautifully made. Your sense of combining colors is wonderful. I'd love to see another review of the Scotish textile designer and his use of color and texture. You've given me the opportunity to journey far and wide with your book clubs, the introduction to different yarns, the spirt cards and of course the poetry. You give so much of yourself and I'd like you to know how much I've enjoyed every minute. Wishing you and your family the happiest of holidays.
I have a favorite sweater that has a split hem that tends to pull apart, so I applied an icord edge to it. It's much more stable and I get to keep the nice split hem look.
I was thinking as I finished watching this episode, “I would like to be like Amy as grow in this world.” And that gave me a lot of peace. Good luck with your Solstice haircut; that's very exciting. Happy Solstice ❄️! Merry Christmas 🎄! And Happy New 🍾! Happy knitting 💚🧶💚
Happy Holidays and all the best for making in 2024. Next year for me will include Andrea Mowry, Thea Coleman, and Norah Gaughan. Love the button box. I have my grandmother's. Big yes to a tour of the new Ginger Twist.
Lovely episode, I so enjoy your bubbly enthusiasm and clear speaking - have a fantastic Xmas and a brilliant Hogmanay - looking forward to seeing in the New Year ❤ xx
The swan sock pattern comes from Charlotte Stones' Colour work Socks. A lovely book from which I have made chilli socks for one of my sons and the coffee socks for my other son. The book has socks for every occasion.
I love what you did with your two-tone crochet/knit pullover. I commented on IG and have been waiting for you to discuss your process. My yarn arrived last week but I have not started yet. I have a soft yellow for the neckline and rust for the body as I want to copy your two-tone look :) Thanks for the video
Love your joy, as always, my dear. I’ve come to enjoy you so much as I’ve just recently watched all your episodes. I hope your holidays were lovely and your new year brings new incite and reflection.
Love your crochet jumper. I am busy knitting Daft Days cardigan icing the lovely yarn collected in Scotland and England while on holidays in May. Mine is going to be multi coloured 😂. We are having cool weather atm but soon it will be too warm to knit DK so I’m making the most of this time. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Christmas gathering filled with fun laughter and frivolity 🎄🎶🎶🎁
Beautiful knits as usual, Amy! I’m knitting the Coorie In and I love it! Hope you have a lovely new year and enjoy all those lovely yarns, especially the pink. Your Marram will be GORGEOUS!❤
It was lovely spending time with you and I wish you all the very best in the New Year. Your advent mini skeins from your Mom are so beautiful..may you enjoy making something lovely with all of them. Looking forward to seeing you in 2024!
I bought an oracle deck a few months ago and have come to prefer it over my tarot cards. I use it similarly as you do, by using it as a tool to provoke reflection. It’s the Sacred Forest oracle which is absolutely stunning. Each card is a beautiful work of art.
Love the sweater on you. Just beautiful! A stunning piece. Think I would add an inch with an increase and knit the hem in one level. Or it as well might be nice to tick back and make a front back with a 3 inch /4 inch split? Either way it is lovely . A wearable piece of art. Curious as to needle size on the Sticks hat. I adore the pattern. I make many hats for my husband as he hasn’t much hair …. He is very knit worthy. Happy New Year! Thank you so much.
I am knitting my Coorie In as i listen to you today!! It is so much fun, and absolutely beautiful. Im knitting it in Moonshine by Juniper Moon Farm. It's a wool, baby alpaca, and silk blend in the colorway 13--which is a gorgeous teal that harkens to the tartan colors of my Great-grandmother's clan, Henderson. I plan to wear my Coorie In when my sister and i travel to Scotland in 2024. ❤🏴
I am so excited to see GingerTwist Studio's new home! I got to visit the previous store, and it was more than a bit magical with how much yarn was packed into a teeny space! I hope to travel to Edinburgh sometime in 2024. Your Prairie Skies pullover is gorgeous. I have a Gallus scarf in the queue, once I finish my gift knitting. Thank you for this lovely episode, and I wish you and yours a beautiful end to 2023! ☀
I love the colour blocking effect you created with the Prarie Skies. I haven't seen the pattern before but it's lovely! Adding to favourites now. Hope you have a nice relaxing holiday period with lots of knitting.
Wow, thank you Rebecca, for donating to the Vermont Flood fund. 🙏 Some farms in our town (in Massachusetts) were affected by that flood too. That was a drastic storm. Love the hot water bottle covers you’re knitting, Amy. 😍
Ah yes, I plan to have downtime with The Hobbit the first week! As a maker, Nov and Dec are exceedingly busy. 😊 Have you been to the Hobbit village in New Zealand? It’s just gorgeous and absolutely worth a visit for fans. Yes I once used my advent yarn to make a poncho. I held colors with a strand of gray for the neck and hem and let the body of the poncho be all different left over grey. It’s shorter than your pattern which I like the style of very much! Happy holidays from Oregon.
I do love most of the horsby patterns, Dione worries me as it makes the chest and shoulders look fairly broad in the pictures I saw. Would look nice on some body types but unfortunately not mine. So lovely to hear from you have a wonderful Christmas!
Crochet sweater had me rushing to pom-poms site and got magazine 46 for 50% off on close out the magazine is going to be missed. thanks Amy for showing yours it’s fabulous and it really suits you
I did the sample knit for the Vanessa for Susan Crawford in the echoes book it was a delight to knit and I got a great gift voucher and a copy and a mention in the book
Your crocheted sweater is lovely. For the split hem, what if you attached a button(one with a shank) to the back portion, then made a loop (maybe an icord loop) and attached it to the front hem as a loop around the button. You might use a button to match the lighter yarn and make the loop with the teal yarn. Your knitting is so lovely, this may be too much.😊 Have a wonderful holiday season. Happy knitting in 2024.
I’ve been knitting the same sweater on size 6 and had the same problem with the hem I’m thinking of ripping back and doing the hem in the main body needle size
I am currently knitting a Coorie In Poncho and loving it ! I have also been watching Chelsea Yarns Vlogmas, and she is knitting one using her advent yarn. It is really lovely. Thank you for the pattern , I love it xxx
Lovely to see you again and to hear about your latest yarny adventures. FYI the sound is great with your new microphone. Hope it’s easy for you to use xox
Have a lovely Christmas with your family. My gift for the new year : I will become a grandma in June 2024. Yes my daughter is pregnant with her first child. Lots of baby knits to come ...

Hi Amy, I'm knitting the Coorie In Poncho in Drops Merino extra fine, think same wool you knitted your daughter's in. Please can you tell me what method you used to join the wool? I'm loving the feel and the way the wool is knitting up, thankyou, Jennifer.

You will have to get your Mum a Lenten calendar to make up!
Sorry 😬 trying to find what PomPom magazine your sweater is from… I can't find it in the show notes but may have missed it?
It’s issue 46
What does “Coorie In” mean?
Congrats on a new sound system, but I think it needs a bit of debugging.. it’s very harsh on the ear.
HI, I sent you an email regarding your Goddess guidance. I know you are very busy and it is the holidays and did not know if the email made it to you.
Got it! It was caught in the spam filter. Responded now. 😘
