i took 4 such fans and connected them togetherand gave direct 2 pin to power lols. its been working for past 3 years. Using it as a cooling pad for laptop. not sure if its right or wrong way, but working anyways.

The difficulty with this solution is that a simple capacitor is not capable of sustaining the large (300vAC) of this circuit. 1 month of continuous operation before failure, A far more expensive 1.5uf capacitor in a metal case (,$5.00 instead of $0.30 !) can maintain the AC voltage drop indefinitely
Seems interesting but meter testing should have been included as the output voltage does not look like 12V. No mention of current output is made which is vital. The circuit diagram is well done but simultaneously calculation sheet would have been helpful.

This is the cheapest low cost power supply circuit and it works well in many devices...
