Circuit 5 (motor controller with 7805) - known "trick" with IC. It is holding 5V between Gnd & Out. If you're rising Gnd level then Out will aslo rise.
LM317 allows to change voltage from 1.25V.

There are too many bad habits in this video for beginners, starting with a dirty soldering iron. Many of the designs are dangerous and component specifications seem to have been ignored. NOT projects for beginners.

@Peterseng24 I hate to seem stereotypical but I find lately the absolutely best and worst electronics channels come from India. They run on 230v and have no regard for mains safety.
Another thing I don't get is they can have 500kk views per video yet seem to spend zero on new gear. They take horrible care of their irons and don't believe in perfboard. The good channels through are great. I'm soured on the ee hobbyist focused channels reliance on pcbway funding. I wouldn't give them a cent as their shipping and costs are obscene. There's no way they turn a profit. But that's why communists have money allocated for soft power in their propaganda fund.
I have a brilliant engineer friend who has a pittance of subscribers yet is so bent on his existence of being payed by pcbway that his career suffers. He's a horrible teacher too and hasn't gained traction. I've been after him to get off a sinking ship but people want that youtube money man, even if it isn't much. I know a bunch of small creators backed by them and they range from brain dead to genius but not one makes a proper living and all think you're gonna ask for a free pcb to be made or a few of their blanks. And it reminds me of the merchant of Venice. They are all greedy too man. I give away half my disposable income to free learning kits and gear for people who can't get into it for financial reasons and when I send my creator friends stuff they automatically think I want something. It kills me. They are the cheapest people I've ever met as well and buy their components from ali and Amazon. I've been burned too many times with components kits and just wait till I have a large enough order to get free shipping and no customs or tax from digikey now. Ordering items from the us have so many trade tariffs, hidden fees, along wirh customs, Canadian provincial tax and shipping that ordinary things like a printer nozzle for example that costs 30usd is 150 by the time it gets here and it's worst for musical instruments or pc parts even with the weak dollar in canada after exchange. If you use a shipping company other than the post they ding you with brokerage fees on top of already obscene shipping. Ebay sellers in the us charge obscene shipping to canada as well to gouge more money. Anyway. Good point, sorry I rambled.
I've given up on learning from yt anymore for anything other than a topic name to read a book. Barely anyone explains code in microcontroller videos becsuse they steal the code I've noticed. I have a software degree so it sours me haha. Being called a 'maker' is horrible too. My wife cooks so can I call her a maker without delineating the type or tense. The 3d printing community kills me with it. Hoarding printers and printing tugboats instead of donating any of the 3 a week they get while fleece people for more than a cell phone bill for the privilege of a name drop.
A culling of the "phone it in" mentality from former greats is a cheap cash in on views. A mailbag video is as stimulating as a vasectomy. Unless they're not in it for the wrong reasons and know they won't be famous and are still learning like most non beginner hobbyists. Like kent at pileofstuff, he's great.

You are using surface mount techniques and it is faulty because you are doing things to endanger users. I will report you to the administrator.
