Wow, thanks! But These recipes come from Jeff himself at MF, he wanted them available to the public as they wind things down. I'm happy I could be the messenger!
Welcome! There is a lot of content for you and I have everything organized into playlists as well. I hope you find the content fun and educational!! Tight Lines!!!
@@baitchuckin I have made it before. I went to give someone my recipe last night and apparently I threw it away 🤕 I’ll figure it out again. This one can fill the gap until then
Awesome Video!! I would have liked to see the color that would come out of mixing the leftovers together!!!! Love your channel and can't wait until the next video.
Hello Mike been watching your show for about year or so and enjoy what I have leaned since watching your you tube channel . Me and my 10 year old grandson are starting up our on Custom Bait Shop and by watching you and Chris Jones ya'll make everything look easy to learn .I have a question ? where did you get the racks that you store your colors on . Thanks for all the shows that you make and share with the bait making world.
Thanks for watching and that's awesome to hear you're making a bait company with your grandson!! That is super cool stuff!!! All of the shelves for my colors I built myself. They are all made of 1/4" plywood and glued together. Wood glue is all you need for the weight of the colorants.
Yes sir the dead on blue craw color is amazing I laminate my blue craw with dead on blue and I got to say man it really makes it stand out keep the content coming thanks again triple j baits
Another amazing video man!....this is you tube gold if u ask me!! Thanks for sharing !! I love the dead on blue craw personally but that aqua/turquoise color in mix master J's version is stellar also. 🐙 🦑 🐙 🦑 🐙 🦑 🐙 🦑 🐙 🦑
Mike, >I'm on my knees bowing to the King Of Plastic Formulation! My preference is the M-F bait, But Chris's formula is definitely a close second. Many thanks for, yet another classic video. Yep, you da man!
Please stand up, I'm not worthy of the title "King" LOL. I appreciate the kind words! You're welcome for the video, I hope you get to try out the modern day recipe of Blue Craw, it's a great one!
Yes if someone could match the original Jelly Apple Red that would be cool. I just don't know if a dye exists today that we can use. The Lureworks Jelly Apple Red is the closest I know of so far.
@@baitchuckin seems like the properties of the dye are different in the OG one as you show the colors not mixing. One has to have a different additive or base Hmmm
Unfortunately I have not been making my own baits that long to use the original mf blue craw. But I do like them both. On the flake I like the square cut too
@@baitchuckin I’m pretty sure it’s new, I don’t think it’s been on BP’s website more than a couple of months. But here’s a question, this and og motoroil both used jelly red, and that can’t be made anymore because the components are available, so are they not available because their banned from import or for another reason? if the chemicals are banned from import game over, but if they can be made overseas and imported but their just expensive, well I know of this company called 8bitbaits that’s proved there’s a market for high end pigments, just sayin
Unfortunately the ingredients simply aren't made anymore. I believe the Original Jelly red had Red 5 dye in it, along with a lot of other Reds and oranges from the OG days of bait making.
Wonder if you added a couple drops of the old color with the new recipe what kinda pop toy may get with that blue. I'll never know. Can't get the color if I want ed to try.
Awesome Michael. I prefer the DOP Blue Craw. Obviously because that’s the only one available but with the side by side comparison I’d still stick with the DOP simple because the brown goes into the apendages and give it a more natural look. But the MF OG is bad ass too 🍻
Unfortunately MF is winding things down so Jeff and his wife can retire. I don't believe Jeff was able to perfect the formula, although he did make some breakthroughs recently.
Awesome video man 🤙 The MF blue craw is pretty sweet but man I love the DeadOn Plastix Blue Craw is an amazing color that can be used so many ways too 🤙💀🤙 Killer video as always brother
At the beginning of the video, you said it was "The last bottle of Blue Craw." It reminds me of the original Willy Wonka scene where they are auctioning off the last case of Willy Wonka bars for the possibility of getting the Golden ticket. hahahaha...I'm old!!!!
Thank you for the awesome recipe!! I think most people, including myself prefer your recipe. It's very natural looking and looks awesome in every bait I've poured it in. It looks amazing in the 5" Tracer Mold which was a surprise to me, but it's a killer minnow color! Give it a shot in your tracer molds!
Mike you have become one. Of the top color master on the web we are blessed that your not being a selfish dude thanks Mike your the man👍
Wow, thanks! But These recipes come from Jeff himself at MF, he wanted them available to the public as they wind things down. I'm happy I could be the messenger!
I love a big square black flake. It just pops really well.
I have fallen in love with the square flake since this video and the Watermelon Red Pearl video. I'm using it more and more now.
I'm new to your channel and new to plastic bait making. I've got ALOT to learn.
Welcome! There is a lot of content for you and I have everything organized into playlists as well. I hope you find the content fun and educational!! Tight Lines!!!
Great demo, Mike.
Thank You!!
There’s just something special about that original blue craw!! Bummer that it can’t be reproduced anymore
But that's part of what makes it so special. If it was readily available, then nobody would want it as bad.
Great to see you putting out some content again!
Thank You! I mean we never really stopped putting out content, we just weren't on a weekly basis there for a bit.
Outstanding comparison video. I will definitely be trying different variations of this. Thanks for sharing.
Please do! There are some really cool variants you can make!
Great job. Can’t wait to try it!
If you haven't made it yet, I highly recommend it! Blue Craw is an awesome recipe.
@@baitchuckin I have made it before. I went to give someone my recipe last night and apparently I threw it away 🤕 I’ll figure it out again. This one can fill the gap until then
Awesome stuff man! Hard to beat the original, it looked like it had a bit more green in it. Either way though, some dope colors!
Thanks Adam! Yeah the original has that little something special to it. There is definitely some green in there. I dunno how, but you can see it.
Love Love Love your videos ! Thank You for sharing ! I’ve learned so much and have started making my own soft plastic baits .
Thank You so much!! That is awesome to hear you're making your own baits now! Send me some pics of them on IG!
Awesome Video!! I would have liked to see the color that would come out of mixing the leftovers together!!!! Love your channel and can't wait until the next video.
Thanks so much! I can tell you the leftovers made a pretty cool Blue Craw, and I even spiced it up a bit with some "Sonic" Holoshift from 8bit Baits.
@@baitchuckin Yes Sir! Great idea on adding the Sonic powder. I bet it looks awesome. I love your 8bitbaits items that I have.
Great video Michael....as always!
Thanks brother!!!!

Curious how lureworks mint brown looks next to them. New to the channel, ive been watching Chris for years. Love your content. Keep uo the good work.
Sweet! Thanks for checking out the channel! Mint brown is more of a green and chocolate color. It would look good up against the Dead On Kiwis color.
Love that blue craw color. Hard to go wrong with anything with blue in it
Yeah it makes for some great flipping and punching baits!
Awesome Video. I am also really digging that epic glory craw mold. And yes Blue Craw from DOP is a sweet color.
Love the Glory Craw Mold!

Sounds like what needs to be discovered is a way to make the Jelly Red, seems to be a big player.

Square cut is my favorite as well
Yeah there is something special about that square flake. I want to get some in more colors.
Very cool, BP has a blue craw that more blue like the og. But the DOP is my favorite I use it all the time
You're the third person that's mentioned that one. I'll have to pick up a bottle of the BP version and check it out.
@@baitchuckin I’m pretty sure it’s new, I don’t think it’s been on BP’s website more than a couple of months. Bait plastic came out with a pretty good Blue crawl
Yeah a few folks have mentioned that. I'll have to check it out.
You can make it with blue and orange color
BP dropped a Blue Craw as well, it's in their premium lineup.
That's what someone else mentioned here in the comments. I'll have to check it out.
Wonder if you added a couple drops of the old color with the new recipe what kinda pop toy may get with that blue. I'll never know. Can't get the color if I want ed to try.
I'll have to try that. Mixing the leftovers together resulted in a pretty good version of blue craw.
Dead-on blue craw love rhe brown but would add more blue. Good stuff thanks
Yeah just a drop or two more of a dark blue and it will lean that direction.
Do the DOP as a laminate over blue Would look cool.
I bet that would look pretty cool. I'll have to give it a shot!
I like them both but the dead on is better for me because there's more brown in our crawfish here in Louisiana.
Good thing the Dead On version is readily available!!
MF is the GOAT
Yes they are! I hope Jeff is able to keep it going as long as possible!!
@ need to get some guys together and buy the company and let Jeff rest and enjoy life. Hate to see it go.
I agree it would be nice to see someone pick up the company and keep it going.

I agree they are both awesome colors! I am also a fan of the DOP version because I agree with you it looks much more natural.
Mf is working on a new blue craw
Unfortunately MF is winding things down so Jeff and his wife can retire. I don't believe Jeff was able to perfect the formula, although he did make some breakthroughs recently.
This color (2nd) would crush most of the river I fish. I like this exact craw as well.
Good news is the 2nd color is easy to make today!!
Have you tried the bait plastics blue craw?
No I haven't. I didn't know Bait Plastics made a Blue Craw?
@@baitchuckin yeah they do.

The MF blue craw is pretty sweet but man I love the DeadOn Plastix Blue Craw is an amazing color that can be used so many ways too

Is that blue the 3332
Yes. That is the correct number.
I'm a tad biased haha

DO Blue Craw is a great color, no doubt but I prefer MF
Yeah, it's hard to say no to the original, but I agree, DO Blue Craw is still an awesome color!
40 drops of original blue craw
20 drops of motor oil
1 drop black
OK now I'm curious, I gotta go try this recipe now...
