Poly Bridge is so accurate as a physics simulator, it even accurately predicts nuclear fusion and stellar dynamics
Material 8 (Bungie Rope)... I was going to write a large paragraph about it but you kinda summarised it pretty well, only thing I would say is that I believe it has to remain in the code, because the enum statement for materials would break if they removed it, also now that it’s been in a release version (although not meant to be brought into levels) there is now way to remove it or shift the spring ID without breaking stuff
You can actually do this without mods and very simply if you go into any glowing gorge/steamworks level, then place a bunch of perfectly horizontal roads stacked one over the other while *NOT* being connected to eachother (or any anchors, just have them suspended in the air) and the roads should look like this: (_ = road)

and when you run it the roads should fall onto exactly the same place, you wont get a cool contraption like the one in the video but you will get a pretty damn bright star (brighter than the one in the vid)

Cool fact about that music sync at the end: When we were messing around in the discord server that song came on at the right time and synced with the hydraulics perfectly... completely on accident!

Oddly enough, the way the final bridge folds in upon itself does quite replicate the sort of birth of a star from a nebula until fusion begins to happen. It also looks beautiful. Love that purple.
