i love how for the first one everyone made specialized machines which are complicated as a catapult but reid just made a hand that goes "YEET"
I wonder if for the hurdle even it would be possible to just pull the car at a high speed through the hurdles and just take the time penalty

Honestly, I was expecting at least one person to try that.
Or lift up the hurdles before doing that
Reid tried to jump the middle hurdles altogether, but didn’t have enough time to explore further
It's a +3 time penalty, and he got a low 14 second, so you'd have to finish in 2 seconds... No lmao
it's way out of the spirit of hurdle jumping, but you could just make an extreme spring cannon with a flight time of less than three seconds, knocking down all the hurdles, and still win. Another out-of-spirit design would be a trebuchet
Trebuchet can't get all checkpoints though
I mean, now that the contest is over, we may as well completely screw over every event in the dumbest ways possible! :D
i like how everyone said that the next time will be in 4 years, even though it will be in 3 (1 if you count winter olympics) unless another pandemic hits of course :3

Yeah he did remarkably well for being a variety streamer, though at the same time also been well known for playing PB almost as much as he's known for playing BTD, so you gotta give him props for learning a lot of the in's and out's of the game.

It's kinda funny how the 10 minute all weights solution you showed at the end is the one most similar in design to a heavy load bridge, whilst the others specifically the beautiful hybrid under/over designs are the ones which look like those old stone bridges... often accompanied by a max weight limit sign. Great vid tho, and great attention to showing all participants :)

....but what if you used the springs to throw the hurdles over the buggy and get them to land upright....also 1st person mode! c'mon! hurdles and high jump would look excellent in 1st person
Imagine having such power and authority that the hurdles are forced to jump over you.

I know I'm quite late to the party...
But I'm surprised that no-one thought to land in a smooth ramp after each hurdle. So much momentum is lost slamming into the ground.
I did attempt to make a bit of a smooth landing at 10:28, but it ended up being a bit difficult to pull off. (We only have four roads, so we couldn't have any extra roads for making a smooth landing.)

8:03 - Doesn't it make sense to angle the ramp a tad bit more than 90° to have a less airtime because the car drops backwards? Maybe something like ~93° or so.
There may have been a better angle to look for, though I wasn't particularly inclined to look for it. (Pun not intended.) I do know what you mean though.
Another parameter also worth noting that could've been optimized better is increasing the amount of ramp usable for the buggy. The longer the ramp, the longer the wheels of the buggy can keep traction (hence how I manage to just about snatch the level from Reid despite having almost identical ramps.
However, I spent only about five minutes working on it before submitting it and moving on, and I wasn't expecting it to actually work so well against everyone else. XD

Materials have length restrictions in the stock game, so those springs are pretty much at their maximum lengths.

Oh no I'll still be uploading! It's just that the Olympics happen every 4 years and Polylympics were made to work in parallel with it, so for those who are subscribing to see more Polylympic tournaments, they'll probably have to wait for a while for the next video on that specifically in the meanwhile.

Why you can have different colors of steel
It is a feature for Poly Bridge 2.
Settings → Graphics → Colour Blind Stress View
This will change the color from "green ⟷ red" to "white ⟷ black"

It costs less than the PC version, but it does not have the "Workshop", so you will not be able to play these levels, unfortunately.

Wait did you use the timer? Reid cheated by making it in a dif world, then putting it in the polylympics world and just set a timer doing minor adjustments. I really hope you did not cheat too
I wouldn't say Reid cheated because it wasn't against what was written in the rules, though it was definitely a massive advantage being none of us considered doing it. (He didn't see the levels, he just made assumptions of what they were in his practice runs. Once you open the level you can't open another level to assist.)
Also yes I did use a timer. And being I was doing the sessions in voice calls, I had people to check the time and make sure I wasn't cheating with any extra takes / do-overs.

Polylympics sounded better to us than Polympics (the "lee" sound in Poly gets lost in "-lympics").
