One again a great review. Although people might think it is very negative, i find it refreshing to hear a review which does not feel like a commercial. You have to take al the negative issues at face value and it gives me the possibility to decide if they are a showstopper or not. I personally think this is a great phone and the video has not changed my mind about buying it.

Some comments calling the reviewer biased to iphone are just childish. This guy isn't biased. I owned a lot of android device and hated the browser on the One X. The problems he mentioned are real and annoying plus there is a lot more not mentioned like delayed scrolling response on some web pages with flash and choppy pinch zooming. i'm subscribed to the verge and technobuffalo and u guys all released the review of this phone all at the same time. i'm a big fan of both but i wanted to let you know u did the best review of the 3. you wernt all school girl about getting a new phone and you gave pro as well as CONs with the review. i really don't like how whenever a new phone comes out they always say this is the BEST phone. that seems to be the case every two weeks or so....
@PhoneArena While on the web browser, the keys are not just randomly appearing and disappearing, its actually well thought out: When you touch the screen they appear to let you tab, etcetera, and when you no longer touch the screen (presumably because you want to read or look at the images) they disappear in order to allow for full screen real estate. Its smart. PS. As a phone reviewer, you should know this.
very comprehensive review.. and the criticisms he said were very informative, yes, those problems are minimal but at 2012, a flagship with a quadcore processor should not have these problems. But in total, this is still one of the best phones made.. PERIOD
The text re-flow in the browser is actually brilliant, it does for you what you'd do manually anyway. But if you actually get confused by it, go for something else because it'll occur in any browser you use. And he didn't talk about how fast the processor really is. The LCD-2 is different from any other super LCD out there, better than the amoled ones in fact.
People just dislike the video because he doesn't just say "this phone is the best." i love how he actually shows the negatives of the browser. most reviewers wouldn't show those weird tendencies of it.
The annoyances with the Browser do exist. HTC One X owners - There's no need to rage here trying to justify your purchase. If you like your phone, that's good. If others don't like what they see here, they don't. Learn to accept the facts as they are and respect others opinions instead of trying to turn your opinions into facts. I'm happy with this Review, very fair.
I've had it for a few days, and The battery life is actually really good! Drains faster than the iphone (if thats what you'd be going from) because of the bigger screen. I've used my so much and rarely give it time to rest (because at my work we can be on our phones and watch TV for the whole day when not busy) and it will make it through my shift (about 7 hours) and then afew hours into me being home. and thats with me being on it constantly
The zoom feature that realigns the text stops you having to scroll back and forth and is an iconic feature of HTC sense, also the menu pops up when you scroll down, but its android download dolphin or chrome job done, this is the one you've been waiting for...... Sent from HTC One X
I know this is an old video but this phone is still an amazing piece of kit! I'm using jellybean 4.2.2 with Sense 4+which has given this phone a much better sense experience. I do have faster roms installed but some are too battery intensive and sense seems to give you about as good as you'll get regarding battery life. If course, I carry a rechargeable battery accessory which really makes the battery life moot. Root the device, flash Roms and Kernels if you are confident. What a device!
WOW!!! I find it amazing that this guy is able to find so many "flaws" in this really, almost perfect , smartphone. If you are a normal person and not sponsored by Apple you would find HTC OneX to be THE BEST phone on the market right now. Anyway, it performs way better than SG2 and only bad thing is that the battery can be drained out daily with little more use ( ie. surfing, recording and reproducing videos, using GPS etc. ). I would recommend HTC OneX to anyone!!!
Wow, so many people are leaving negative comments about his accent and the fact that he has breaks in sentences. The fact is he has made an effort to do an in depth review in a different language to which he is used to ; which is better than most of the people who are dissing him could produce. I found the review informative and helpful, so stop being childish and produce something better if you think his review is bad.
I had to return my HTC One X due to signal losses during the next 2 days after I bought it, I switched to S3 and now I am more happy and confident, HTC has a great shape and great screen but that is about it. Battery life is short and the operation some times has lags is not as smooth as S3.
@PhoneArena you did a great job with the review and I admire you sincerity even though it cost you a lot of haters. I feel that as a reviewer you are awesome and deserve a great thumbs up!!!
Simply install the "HTC IME Mod" WM7-styled keyboard and you're good to go. Got this one on my Desire S. I don't see any other problems with this one. Thinking about getting the One X.
i got this HTC few months ago and i can honestly tell you this is the best money i ever spent.I work on cruise ships 8 months at a time and im extensevly using this phone,for me lap top is too big too carry around and i just dont like tablets that much.It blows my minde how good it is.

You guys need to understand this review was before the updates to the phone, with new Sense features and fixes. I got the phone last week (before ultimately being broken into) and the phone was amazing, it was quick, it stood up to my friends S3 with no problems and it did literally everything I wanted it to: play games, let me be social, look awesome. Jellybean comes out soon for the One X which will make the phone even better.. now I've gotta find the cash to buy another one ;c

i actually prefer this because when the nexus s came out it was "the best phone out there" then when the galaxy nexus came out it was "the best phone out there" and then when the galaxy note came out it was "the best phone out there." i can say with the galaxy nexus it was no where close to the best phone out there. i like how he reviews it thoroughly.
I prefer the HTC phones when it comes to the design. The use metal for most parts of the outside, which just makes it feel so much more durabel, I love it! Samsung should take this factor into their own phones and not use so much plastic :)

I think they could have shown some performance test by using a 3D application. The "reflowing of the text" is what happens also with my HTC Desire HD, and it's what makes me LOVE HTC and it's browser implementation. It might even happen on other Android phones, since it's all Webkit. The reflow of text makes sure, that I don't have to zoom to fit the text or scroll left and right to read an entire column at a decent font size! I cannot understand how this could be rated as "bad"!
Just pointing out that if you hold down the shutter button in camera mode, it will do 4 photos in every second. It's much faster than shown in the review.
I believe this phone has the best hardware on the market, so the operating system isn't really a problem, you can just flash a new ROM if you don't like Sense (which i would do).

I.e. the "constant text reflow" is to reconfigure the text so that it is easier to read in context of the "zoomed in area" as people don't want to just see pixels. The keyboard is fine too since most people I know use the in built dictionary or they can use swipe. He doesn't like different designs.
How is it in any way irrelevant how big the phone is? It is very hard to see in photos the actual size of a 4,7" screen, so it helped me A LOT when he compared it to the iphone, witch size we all know.
The text reflow and "blink" can be turned off in settings, the video recorder records in 30 and even 60 fps and it only shows them as 23 fps when you view them in slow motion. I also think the dpad in the keyboard very useful, I had a HTC desire and I loved its trackpad and have been missing it while writing text ever since
Surely the 'Resizing' @11:20 is the phone assessing the view of the page you've zoomed to and then adjusting it so you can see complete sections of text as opposed to the cropped sections you've most likely zoomed to?
HTC have been using similar designs before this phone was released, this phone was also released before the 920 and all of its predecessors were released before then too.
Don't listen to this review, this is THE BEST Android phone out there as of now. There are a lot of haters against this phone. I have had one since May 3rd (3 days before release date) and I have had ZERO lag issues or problems at all

Either way it's a great phone, and considering how good of a flow it is on my Galaxy nexus, it must be amazing on the One X.

People like PhoneDog and TechnoBuffalo basically spend a few minutes with the phone before recording, then read off the spec sheet and give unhelpful jolly cliches like "really great phone. im torn between the htc one x and the galaxy s 3, i dont like the feel of the s 3 but the way it performs is amazing, any suggestions which one i should pick?
If HTC had put a 4.7" Super AMOLED screen on this baby instead of the super LED which sucks 70-75% of the juice from the battery, this phone would be unmatched by anything on the market! Not only is the battery life really low but it takes forever to charge. Mine charges at a rate of about 20% in half an hour.
Just to point out that the fact that you don't agree with the reviewer or the fact that you think you could've done a better job doesn't mean you have to click dislike. Imagine if someone did that to your video = 70% dislike.. for no apparent reason
This is rather interesting. I got to play with one of these the other day, and I think he's wrong about the camera. It bests the SGSII and iPhone 4 and comes close to even the N8 (even though it's a lower-res sensor). Also, he forgot to mention how it completely blows away everything else on the market in terms of speed, in terms of UI, browsing, and gaming performance. Battery life should hopefully improve on the US release of the phone, which comes with a 1.5GHz dual-core A15 "Krait" chip.
and yes, I'm also a windows phone user. And to tell you the truth, wp7 is far from being fast. 3rd party apps loads like eternity. Marketplace always forceclose and the lack of a good ecosystem is a big disappointment.

It's a special type of carbon plastic, which may not be metal but it's still very strong and has a premium feel.
I bought One X a week ago. Awesome phone.Oh .. and btw the battery is decent.
