Does anyone with this hernia feel emptiness in their upper abdomen that eventually makes you feel hungry so often? So many doctors deny giving me medicine because they say that there's no cure. But, I can see that I can take something for it. This has been going on for years, and I just keep gaining weight.
I was just told I have a small Hiatal Hernia. I don't know if a Manometry Test , Barium swallow test or endoscopy found it. My esophagus look's really clear on Endoscopy and Barium swallow only showed a slight slowing down of food passing through but nothing major. I am suffering from food coming back up my Esophagus into my throat and sometimes my mouth I also suffer from chest pains and light headiness I also have to belch a lot which leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I was on PPI's for 30 months and these only had some effect. I came off them as I couldn't tolerate them anymore. I am considering a MRI or CT scan to check it depending on which is best for it. Any advice would be great.
Yep, cannot reliably diagnose a hernia with only a gastroscopy. Barium/iodine swallow upper GI exam is the way to really build evidence for that problem.
@@TertiarySequins on top of that, when they go inside, they find what's really going on and if things are moving around/sloppy etc. Contrast swallow is about 80% reliable.
can i ask this surgeon if he has ever had a patient with a small hiatal hernia that gets aggravated with movement bending over picking things up walking, any type of movement that would twist intern the body and aggravate the hiatal hernia??? has he ever heard of this? if he has not then this is confirmation that it is happening!! I have no abnormalities in my esophagus or my stomach everything is unremarkable as viewed by a G.I. specialist. yet my symptoms are severe and have also triggered aggression depression panic attacks I’m figuring it has aggravated my Vegas nerves. I can eat and lay down and I do not get acid reflux coming back up into my esophagus. once in a while I do but it’s not typical most of my symptoms are burning in the stomach and a really weird irritation around my stomach. possibly on the outside of the stomach wall rather than on the inside. Has this surgeon ever heard of this before and if not what could it be, and more importantly what can I do to help fix it this is been over a year? please and thank you!
