@@steamfreak Actually it was an easy line to work. Just 12 to 14 hours to and fro and undulating. The others out of Maritzburg were very hard.

Ive seen this locomotive at Hilton whenever I stop by, some parts have been stolen off of it and it hasn't moved for many years, so sad to see what its become.

A great watch. 696 was a loco that I saw a lot of as a kid growing up in Hilton.

i was the fireman on that loco. My father and me restored her at Hilton. i mis those days
