Our Project Dakota R/T Gets New Front Suspension And More!

The MoparInsiders project truck, a 2003 Dodge Dakota R/T gets an all-new front suspension. In this video, we tackle the upper and lower control arms, inner and outer tie rods, install new competition engineering drag shocks in the front, energy suspension sway bar bushings, and more.
These parts will all go a long way in bringing our custom truck back to its former glory. Once it's driving right then we can get to work on the fun stuff, MORE POWER!

The problem is, the metal doesn't wear out, its the bushings and rubber and joints. Its always better to buy quality bushings and ball joints than to buy the whole control arm which usually comes with cheap bushings and ball joints.

I woul use polyurethane bushings.

Most don't want to hassle with pushing out the old bushings. Boostedmotorsports on here did a full energy suspension polyurethane bushings etc and had to use a torch and alot of swearing to get the rear leafs done.. or as someone below mentioned factory riveted ball joints

While your in there, pull the spider off and examine the cam lobes..

You are lucky it didn't still have the factory riveted ball joints. Rivet removal is the worst part of the whole front end job!

Did you have a problem getting the passenger side, upper control arm off? My header is in the way of my camber bolts.... I'm guessing you did have a problem and that's why you didn't fuckin show it. Unsub
