It's so weird that people think going too far on a beatbox stage is a bad enough offense to justify going as far as sending a death threat
But its also weird when someone thinks that river's last 30 or 20 secs was too much tech, however the whole round of ice is fulllllll of tech, and no musicality at all, unless he is leading to ice from the beginning, even before the battle starts
But, dont get me wrong, both round from ice is still a very solid round. I just wish there are some kind of intro musicality and outro to make it more enjoyable
Wdym?
I'm just gonna say it, I think there is racism towards Arabs involved in the bbx community.
When. You are Bad Always complain about racisme or sexism, New Anthem of modern society@@shaytanszenith887
You can see here 7:09 ice said "I'm sorry" and river looks surprised .. I think it was like a show, battle show, not disrespect.
River was acting weird from the beginning, and he could have handled it way better by just ignoring Ice's touches. Even when Ice went to River's face in the first round, I wish River had stood his ground and looked into Ice's eyes to show him that he was mentally prepared and countered Ice's attempts. However, River opened the door for Ice because Ice saw it as a weakness and took advantage. Take Colaps vs. Zekka as an example of when they went to each other's faces. Also, Colaps didn't care about Zekka touching him until he started touching his face. The way River handled the incidents made Ice look toxic.
I mean in it's in the rules that there's no touching, whether you like it or not is a different story, river telling him that is very nice from him actually
It's in rule that you can't touch your opponent so he was helping ABO ice
@@nebojsavelickovic5388it may be in the rules, but it has never been enforced.
@@gojiberrii1261 it most definitely is, idk about gbb23 but every other one the person touched was asked if they wanted the other one disqualified or not
19:14 no, ice do the "shush" coz river said it first in his round 2 , you can see it in the beginning if round 2
Jokes aside, I really love River's first round, definitely my favourite solo round so far
I hope your next reaction video gonna be the River vs Sean Strickland, that battle is fireeee
Im too bias of a River fan lol!! He is just sooo clean. Just wondering but has anyone ever said to River, during a battle, "you may be the River but I am the Dam!"
Napom said "how do you stop a river? with a d-d-d-d-dam daniel"
That's the problem with a judging system it's biased you should be a judge
The fist touch of the battle is river touched ice in the chest, and cry about touch all the battle
very insightful commentary, love the reactions as well 🇸🇦
8:40 I completely agree with you ; I think it's just normal to expect that, especially since it's a battle! For me that was no disrespect at all ; only fun and performance :)
Ice’s attitude is completely fine. It’s a battle ffs. People need to stop being snowflakes, including river
hi hi just sharing my own opinion. I just think there are just ways to do things, if river felt uncomfortable then there's a reason for it. I personally like this battlish aspect when people touch their opponent as long as it's not extreme but doesn't mean the person being touched always like it, depends who does it and how, and as river mentioned things happens behind the scenes which we're not always aware. His attitude was fine on the battle it's fairly common but what river felt was being reflected plus he did let ice know multiple times that he did not want to be touched, not everyone just take everything the same way so we can't really blame anyone. But even if you do take all this out of consideration, pretty sure it was mentioned that there's a rule that says not to physically touch your opponents, which is being often disregarded. so it's not about being a "snowflake" like this expression is often used but just respect and tbf the worst part was the community on this one but yeah, it's a beatbox battle after all and battling aspect can be very strong with just that alone
No touching is a rule for a reason. What if someone’s hurt their arm or something, or in dlow vs bart where Bart had recently had a hair transplant. Being aggressive is fine as it’s a battle, but there are reasons for these rules.
*We want Stich vs napom reaction*
10:30 💯 nailed it
One thing I do want to mention is that River occupied the middle of the stage for the vast majority of the battle. It's one thing to be center stage if you're engaging with your opponent during their round but he was almost restricting his movement in a sense and it's a big deal since it could affect communication with the crowd. I staunchly support the no touching rule and would've preferred Ice be DQ'd the same way I felt Zekka should've been in GBB 21 and D-Low in GBB 19 but unlike those other two times, this time River doesn't have zero blame imo.
Maybe I have a controversial take but, I feel like River is a whining a little, he did the same with footboxg last GBB when it was barely a touch and he milks it like hell. It’s called the “Grand Beatbox BATTLE”. It’s supposed to be a battle. Loads of beatboxes get up close, loads of beatboxers talk whilst the other person is conducting their round ; it’s been happening for years. Ice wasn’t toxic in my opinion, but instead put on a really good show, and brought that Battle presence. And if you don’t agree, DLow in his 2019 championship run, broke the touching rule and also would walk towards and get close to opponents as part of stage presence. It just happens
The difference is, that footboxgs touch was by accident and river was just playing along , whereas ice knowingly broke the rule several times which results to river being understandably pissed off. And you can also build a battle presence without touching other people and invading their personal space, if you’re looking at all the other beatboxers (maybe except zekka). Yes it is a battle, but it’s also a beatboxing battle and touching the opponent is and should not be allowed.
@@hiunuen933 I think tho, River gives it back in his second round. Getting up close to Ice and forcing him to step back, standing nearly on his hand and standing over him whilst he's picking up his towel/water bottle and getting very close to Ice like Ice did to him. So because of that I don't think you can single out Ice when River is giving it back. And River's pettiness over the mic, he could've just took it from Ice, I don't understand why he waited for Scott to pass it him.
15:11 I think ice forget that they use the same Mic.. so after his round, he forgot to give him, when he come back to give him river didn't step to take it from ice .. after that ice was upset
Same thing happened with while battling vs Mr Androide
People should know that it's in the rules that there's no touching, whether you like it or not is a different story, but please know this before making any judgement on either ice or river
Now that i think there should be battle rules that everyone knows and are followed fully, what're your thoughts, what rules should those be?
I agree with you...
..its just a beatbox battle..idk why people think that ice disrespect river...thy r all friends and thy know what thy r doing...touching is fine..🤷 .
Anyways big up to #ice even big up to #river ...🔥🔥 Esh
Awesome battle so powerful
agree
I really love rever brother ❤❤
You know what would be a real sick battle without any of the pussy stuff, FootboxG vs Ice think about it
Bro is keeping a premiere timer like we can't wait to see his reactions 😂😂
No I keep a timer so I can chat with my subs during the premiere 😂
Pin him
Whenever I see an artist slightly touches the opponent like ZEKKA, ICE ,etc I just think of the battle between DLOW and B-ART, BART was so chill even with the hat thing, I just love watching those type of battle + good vibe energy. Yeah ZEKKA one was a little too far coz he literally grabbed Colaps's jaw lol. Artist's shouldn't forget they are at the stage to put on a show for us audiences so that we can enjoy as well as feel the battle vibe. Yeah ICE shouldn't have touched River but it was really just a tap on River's shoulder. As an audience POV I am pretty sure this battle gave some negative vibes to some of us. You have to be chill just like B-ART and just enjoy the battle stage and have fun.
**Its just my thoughts and No hate to any artists**
Listen to beatbox river ❌
See face ice ✅😂
I think the 'no touch' rule is right and should be respected. If it's a battle then ok, let them compete with skills. The 'no touching' rule is more about a preventative measure, because the more you allow the further it goes. And there are new players on the scene. It's certainly different between good friends and between an opponent you see for the first time with your eyes. You don't know what he might go to. During a battle, people have strong emotions and a hand-to-hand can happen and then people will say that it could have been avoided. I remember watching the live Zekka vs Colaps. One of the best battles on GBB but the enthusiasm subsided after Zekka overreacted. Likewise Napom vs Azel. Watching such battles just takes the joy out of watching beatboxing because for me it's the skill that counts, not who is more annoying ;) The most important thing is that, as River wrote, it's good between them and there's no problem!
Rules are rules I get it. But like river acting like a major victim here for no reason at all. Nobody was even close to being harmed. Came off as super fragile tbh. He can set those boundaries during the battle but expect people to say what they want about you and your sensibilities and don’t cry after the fact.
Everyone obsessing over the controversy that nobody noticed the title of the video is wrong? It says "Solo Quarter Final" but this was the semi final...
Thanks for pointing it out
@@stitch_mus1c You are very much welcome sir, glad I was helpful.
Ice got a little carried away in the moment, probably shouldn't have touched him.
but if you think this is crossing a line for ice, sending death threats to him is way farther across the line than him touching river a little.
@sepantajan8599 "barely touching" is still touching, which is against the rules for a reason. He probably shouldn't have touched him at all.
@sepantajan8599 i never said he needed to be punished, im saying people are justified in thinking he went to far. Even river himself said it was disrespectful. I'm saying he and others should learn from his mistakes. Idek why you're arguing this in the first place all I said is he shouldn't have touched him and the people sending him death threats are doing way worse than he did.
@sepantajan8599 also i have definitely not broken hundreds of laws, and jay walking isn't even illegal in my state. This is a bad comparison.
@sepantajan8599 all good! I understand lol, I don't think it was worthy of ice being punished but I hope it was a mistake he can learn from. I personally was rooting for him this year after his wildcards. I get this is his first gbb battle so I'd assume he was a bit too into the moment and might need a little time to learn to tone it down . He did do great tho I loved seeing him this year and excited to see what else he brings !
Stitch is pretty on spot with the touching issue, but the winner of this battle is river for sure, stitch is glazing too much
I said I chose river as the winner...
@@stitch_mus1c I was more refering to how you percieved river's round and ice's counters, i mean you dont need to listen to my opinion, you can watch what dlow thought about this battle.
@@rofllmao7657 I getcha but that's how I perceived their rounds. Dlow has his own opinion, you have yours and I have mine
@@stitch_mus1c Yea understandable, for me ice's counters were ok, its just he didnt built up on them, didnt develop them into his routine for example.
Didnt mean sound like a hater or whatever, hope you didnt interprete it like this
Its is a battle not showcase ice is not punching 😂river acting too much cool with codfish hair and colaps mustache he Thinks hes the coolest person on earth😂
you got my respect! 😂
Abo Ice reminds me of tomazacre
MMA next GBB ??
or
GBB next MMA ??
Hey Btw, No Gbb24 wildcard from you??
maybe
The snare placement on Abo Ice counter kinda sucks, and the shhhh seems to be a cover-up. But maybe that's just me
Maybe river should just chill tf out a little tbh. For instance…it is objectively far more offensive to stand still with your hand out making someone move an extra 2 inches to take the mic like you are a king. Vs just tapping someone’s arm and standing close to them…stuff we’ve seen everyone else do on the battle stage. Even colaps gets up in people’s faces in battles. Like wtf lol. Chill.
You're posting wrong link😮
thanks for telling me!
@@stitch_mus1cyou’ve posted wrong link😮
So good beatboxer on Ice, but sooooo agressive, dont like that
I guess this is one of many downsides to the "new age" of beatbox. As the scene attracts a wider audience, the minority of the community that sends people death threats will also slowly grow.
What i want to say is just that river is being weird that’s all
River is a crybaby
cry about it then
Cry me a River’
hahaha that's a good one@@annoyingthing6238
like my comment or else
I think you should all grow up and stay out of it
5-0 🎉
Its hes first time in gbb lol
@@bfs1 Do you remember someone named tomazacre? and he didn't need to touch any rival.
Pin plz we love you
Nah, Ice went too far. The combination of everything is what makes this disrespectful. I'm with River here. But when he apologized and they're fine, then everything is fine. So no shit talk about that. And especially never send death threats to anyone. This is not okay. Be kind and respectful
It’s all for the audience nothing else and ice have nothing to apologize for also river 😁
cry
@darkknight3037 very mature if you, if you have some constructive criticism, then let's hear it. Otherwise, I just ignore you.
@@darkknight3037☔️ rude man vs attitude man
Ice looked like he went too far just because of River's attitude. Imagine if Zekka didn't touch Colaps's face but only the shoulder tap and getting close to him, do you think anyone would care? Obviously not because Colaps's attitude was chill and not on the verge of crying.
not a 5 zero to me not even close 3/2 split at max
what is this comment? if every judge thinks River was slightly better it is a 5:0. A 5:0 doesnt say Abo Ice was dominated.
@@hooms673 Abo ice was powerful but not that clean like river was more technical and clean
@@sanatani2725 bro for me River was clear winner both rounds were better. why you defending River? I am always baffled how people dont get what the score means., that was my only reason to reply. cheers
@@hooms673 yeah 5:0 score doesn't say that ABO ice was dominated it was close one
