i've seen a few other videos trying to present the ways to exploit the unique sounds of the 12 string. yours was far and away the best and most detailed. all your videos are top notch.

That’s a great 12-string lesson - mind bending and string bending! Thank you.

This was really useful for me, as I busk for a living, and I've been messing around with chord/lead alternations, 5 strings capo-ed, dropped D tuning, detuned treble strings, and 'drone chords' (like the semi-barred chords you're using at the end of your video) for a few years now. I think getting a 12 string will really open up these possibilities for me. Am seriously considering getting my hands on that exact model of guitar you're using also. If it takes alternate tunings well then it seems well worth it. I also heard tuning the guitar's extra strings to fifths is an interesting sound. Thanks!

I find that the reverse rake near the bridge only sounds good when I intensely grimace and scrunch up my face while doing it. If I just keep a normal face it sounds terrible.

Good post. My rules; no bar chords except if you're playing Space Oddity! I've only had a 12 string for 6 months, which I love, and using it on recordings where I've pretty much emphasised the lower strings (4/5/6) instinctively as they just sounded better. That's exactly what you're saying! My only caveat, the higher strings should really refer to pitch not distance from the ground. Just my take. BTW, love your cat!
