MK4 GOLF GTI EXHAUST INSTALLATION (PART2)

- This video is PART 2 of a two part video on the exhaust installation on my MK4 Golf Gti.
In this video I fit a full turbo back exhaust system including a 3" stainless steel decat pipe and a 2.5" one piece stainless steel exhaust system.
The decat pipe is unbranded as far as I know and the exhaust is an exhaust someone else had custom made for their car but due to the car being written off it went up for sale.
I installed the turbo back system over a couple of days and it was not without its problems. Although it took a while it was not a difficult job, more time consuming due to removal and fitting being on the floor and not on a ramp.
The exhaust sounds great and the car is another step closer to being mapped now.

Literally just bought myself a complete stock 1.8t gti, intake, dump valve and full exhaust system are the first things on my list💪🏻
Sounds like a decent plan? Do you know what particular exhaust, intake etc that you want to buy? Will you get a dump valve or a diverter valve?

That sound man! Got a V5 2003, the 170hp version. Has it straight piped, sounded wicked although I felt that around 70mph the db levels inside the cabin was just too much. Went back to muffler. Though watching your video makes me wanna strip it again 🤦🏻♂️ lol.. Great vid
Very nice!! I do like the sound of the V5 man and its quite a rare car I think. How often do you go 70mph? My Golf can be noisy on the motorway but only on the overrun, with my foot steadily on the throttle sitting at 70mph its ok.
definitely adds more character to the car..i have a sportex 4 inch end tip back box waiting to be installed tommorow i cant wait ! hahaha

Did u get a cel for the decat?
I used that lambda fooler/trick 90° elbow for the sensor and I never got a check engine light, neither did my friend who has a Seat Leon Cupra. I have now had the second lambda deleted from the software anyway just in case.

Hey, so do you want to connect the catalytic converter to a 3.5" cat back system?
The exhaust I’m looking at is a double muffler with a straight through middle section the only bit missing is the manifold will this fully derestrict my car chap
@@adamburford8699 I haven't changed the manifold on my car and I dont think its worthwhile doing unless you are upgrading to a KO4. The catalytic converter will restrict power and sound, any boxes will restrict power and sound, smaller pipe will restrict exhaust flow and therefore restricts power. Decat is worth it but not sure about manifold mate. Hope this helps
Sorta gathered that bit,I know decating the exhaust will help and I’ve read putting a 3 inch to 3.5 inch is best for this car do u know much about stage 1 remapping and stage 2 was wondering what stage 2 does to ur car will it wear anything out

Hey Jack, that was a second hand custom that I bought. Keep an eye out on Facebook mate. That exhaust was made by MR Exhaust I believe. Plenty if good second hand systems for sale though

@@jackdavies772 Thanks a bunch man, my decat is unbranded, not sure how much of a difference it makes on quality but maybe the welds and the flange because mine wasn't the easiest to tighten. Any questions just ask. I paid £300 for exhaust and was told it cost £1100 due to the interchangable sports cat and decat. Some bargains to be made. Keep me posted 👍🏽
