Most of the issues here are just mac/apple issues in general and nothing to do with Arm. The only valid for arm specifically is the loss of bootcamp but if you virtualise (its not emulation) arm windows or Linux, it performs brilliantly. For reparability and upgradability, Its an utter pain but lets not pretend that Dell, HP and lenovo aren’t doing the same in comparable devices.

If you're gonna spend that much money? I do music production and used a $500 laptop with a ryzen 7 4700H proceccor. It was absolute beast at music production (I'm talking over 100 tracks, vst, instruments, effects,) and ran the audio latency at 64 samples with no issues (aka under 2 milliseconds) . You should look into getting something like that at a good price and plus you have extra money to spend on a daw and not be pirating software.

Mac has locked me in with Logic Pro. Also use fl but if I was going to switch to that being my main daw I would have to spend $500+ on plugins and a lot of time learning new software because logics stock plugins are very good while many other daws arent

9:00 Not a hardware guy so could someone elaborate on this? I haven't had my storage fail (as mentioned, most people get a new system by the time that becomes a likely scenario) except once with an old HDD long ago. Back then, most of the data was recovered. What I'd like to know is - What makes recovery difficult or impossible for SSDs, especially on Macs? Do they have TPM or similar device-level encryption?

You got to be lucky with the SSD you are getting, one SSD could outlive your mac, and another one could fail in 2 weeks.
By "Failing" I mean, they are not usable anymore, and your mac won't turn on, a replacement will be needed to bring your mac back to life, but according to what this guy said in the video, Macs are programmed to not boot up if you put a SSD in, that is not the one you bought your mac with, so you can't boot up and can't replace the SSD, I am not sure what apple's policy is about this but most likely they will take care of it if it happens during your warranty time, If it fails after your warranty.. guess you'll find out what happens.
