I haven’t worked a fast food job since Covid but a major issue I noticed is menu creep. You can tell many fast food places were initially designed for efficiency but they kept adding things to the menu and complicating the process. I remember at Dunkin Donuts we had a sandwich machine that would take 1:30 minutes to cook at max 2 sandwiches. So when a big family came in looking for a meal to feed 6 people followed by another big family you were looking at an incredibly long process holding up the line.
yeah if you're going to add something to the menu you better account for people ordering 10 of them at a time. But better yet keep things simple. Starbucks just sells plastic-wrapped stuff and pre-made bakery items that they can heat up for you if you request it. But if you're going to turn it into a sandwich shop, you'd better fit it out to be a sandwich shop.
I have no idea how it takes so long, my order is simple a plain chicken burger and fries and a coke yet it takes them like 20 minutes just to slap two slices of bread and a chicken patty together, what could possibly be the problem that makes it take so long, to add insult to injury the food is ice cold.
probably because they have like 5 other orders in front of you and they're all complicated. Plus they have 3 different lines now: the in-store line, the drive thru line, and the pickup line.
@@foreverdirt1615 I understand that if it's busy, but at my regular McDonald's location it's rarely busy, McDonald's isn't the gold standard of quality anyway so im not expecting miracles just warm food.
No idea how it is not fast tbh, the shit is usually stone cold.

Preach! 😂 these places move so glacially
"so glacially" is such a beautiful way to describe slow service
