    I thought you were going to say your pay as a TH-camr wasn't good enough, but 6k a month, that's great money for traveling. Even if you're the one paying for all the expenses it's still enough. You've already won, because this is basically just the beginning and you're already making a living out of it. There's only one way from here, and that's ⬆️. Besides, the thing you're forgetting is that no one can take away the data analytics skills you've acquired, and you can literally go back to that any time you want to, especially with your experience. My advice would be to get on with it, because later in life, when you're older and you have kids, you literally won't have time and probably guts to try something risky like this. Greetings from Serbia 🍻

      You see for me it's the opposite. I travelled the world from the age or 17. Had many wonderful and wild adventures to the point where someone wants to make a movie about my life and I keep being told to write a book. Now as a father at 33 I want to settle down and get my financial priorities straight. So now I am learning Data Science and coding as well as other skills. It doesn't mean the adventure has ended, it is simply a new chapter on the journey.

      Was doing part time too with a previous company but never again.. in my experience you always finish that you are working almost full time with a part time salary.. client always pushing.. I prefer to find a full time contractor job maybe not that exhausting where on Friday s or some hours here and there I can move on even with my side projects.. it’s harder but at least I don’t risk that scenario.. you need to find good clients to do that and push a lot on yourself to refuse any extra hour or request they have.. they always tend to assign you tasks as you are full time.. btw glad to hear someone else found a good balance this way

    • @daveebbelaar
      @daveebbelaar ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@andreapigatto2762 Ah, I can see how that can become frustrating. I bill my clients hourly, so if there are weeks that I work more, I can just charge more. But usually, it stays around 24 hours /week. But I guess this really depends on the client you are working with. I've been very fortunate with mine. What has worked really well for me is to work with non-tech companies (industry, government, construction). You can usually make a lot of impact there quickly, since working with data is still new to them.

    - wishing to be a data analyst freelance

    I realised it doesn’t matter who you work for, you are dependent on someone else. In a corporate job the company owns you and your time and if you are a TH-camr, entrepreneur etc you depend on your viewers, customers on how much you make . So in the end we will always depend on others. The only difference is of course the life quality and work life balance you have.

I don't know what topic you might cover but we can be sure that the output will be well structured and produced. Perhaps you can create short docs covering some of the recent financial crises (banking & crypto) or a doc going over the history/nightlife of various parts of Europe. Heck I'd love to see a doc from you covering the more recent UAP phenomena but from a European perspective (or other interesting parts of the world). Really the sky is the limit on the subjects you can cover.

    To the Dutch Bradley Cooper:
    Living a life is living many lives. You are who you are, but you also grow and change as you go. You mature as you grow older, and you evolve and shred off the old skin like a snake. It is expected to question yourself constantly. It is, after all, the only way to evolve and move out of the comfort zone. I am 33, left my country 10 years ago in the pursuit of a better life, but not for me, instead I did it for people that I had not met yet... My progeny. After 10 years of hard work, traveling and living all over the world, I finally settled down during the pandemic.
    I went from a degree in business and economics, working a 9 to 5 office job in a huge IT company, to working as a licensed carpenter with my own business in a foreign country, and now starting afresh to become a data analyst with online courses hunting for that 9 to 5 job again to gain experience and some steady income temporarily until I upskill.
    Once you become a father, your world will turn upside down. It is not about yourself anymore... The biggest lesson I have learnt.
    Whatever you opt doing, do it with focus and drive; do it for the love you have for yourself and eventually your family. After all, we are here for a limited time, and trust me, once you have a kid, you will understand every step you have taken so far to become who you are, and it will make you see that the only thing that really matters after all is very primitive. Pass on what has been given to you, and this will fulfill your soul forever.
    Thank you for your videos, very entertaining bro.

    I couldn't stand being a Data Analyst. It's a boring job with lots of "clerk work" and manual processes. Push to become a Data Scientist/Engineer/Architect. You can somewhat force the issue of not going into an office by living in a small town which makes you only available for work that's at least 90% remote. Also, Apache Airflow, NOT Excel makes for an interesting day. The same goes for ElasticStack, NOT SQL. Excel and SQL are SOOOOO last century. VBA driven Excel and SQL were fun back in the 1990s, but I would prefer to leave them there.

    2:08 Honestly when I heard you you speaking about the lack of story telling in a Data Analyst job, I thought you might really enjoy to be a Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst - You still work with data a lot and it is important, but your job is to tell a story to a stakeholder and inform decisions - I mean you are still not the one making those decisions, but I feel like CTI is just a wonderful intersection of these two (data/storytelling), you can usually well-balance those aspects so you're not tired of either one. As for freedom, I think this is highly dependable on the company you work for. I personally find it important to look for the companies culture when choosing a job (not only for the salary aspect of it). I know that you may have experienced the same thing in multiple companies (which is why I love this video from you so much: th-cam.com/video/RcBCy2WszWI/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Stefanovic), but I think nowadays there companies which would allow for the freedom you mention in the video.

    I feel like the trend of new work is just complementing the way we want to work nowadays: the type of environment and work-life-balance we would enjoy. The question is just how fast companies will adapt to fulfill those aspirations. I guess there‘s just a few companies today that combine freedom, wealth etc.
    Great video, keep up the work!

    Took a similar path here in Tokyo by quitting during the great resignation. I found myself realizing how valuable my office job was for my drive, and aligning with my value system. Values are so important! The perspective was critical and now I’m back in a great office job, but inspired to work a consulting side hustle- thank you for the SQL suggestion!

    I think one way to think about these existential thoughts is to instead reframe it as bringing focus to your ability to be a teacher for your skillset to the thousands around the world who want to be in that position of having a data analyst skillset and might just be on their journey. I'm still in the first of eight modules in the Google Coursera certification program, and trying to find what i love about the field can be a challenge, but when anyone asks me why i'd be interested, it's hard to say "because i don't want to be poor, or my credit card is at 20k", people only want to hear some BS about following my dream....i have a dream not to be homeless lol. Anyway, like i said, when thinking of the many hats you are putting on as a youtuber, at the end of the day you should take pride in the fact that you are providing value as a teacher and educator to those who want to improve their own lives, i think that in itself is enough to stave of any feelings of insecurity.

  • @bumbonic
    @bumbonic ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Everything is part of the journey.
    Maybe tomorrow you find another thing that is alligned with your values and your whole life changes through that and it will be fine.
    I really like how you question everything about if you are following the right steps or not in function of what you thing it's the best for you.
    Although I don't know you, I think I have a mind very similar to yours because I have the same thoughts and core values, and I would have the same thoughts that you have if I were in your place.
    I'm about to finish my economics degree and preparing to be a Data Analyst, but knowing that it will be something temporary, as an intermediate step to earn money to be able to invest in freedom.
    Since I have consciousness I'm a very analytical person but I also think you can use the mindset that comes with to whatever you want to do in life. In my case, I think it's relationated with financial markets. You said in a video that you're also an investor.
    I would really like to see/hear some content from you about that topic. But not in the way "EARN 1M IN 5 MINUTES BUYING SHIBA INU" but using the analytical mind and creativity to make some juice!
    PS: I like that I understand your Dutch-English better than native English people.

    Bro I can really relate to your thinking 💭 I was actually inspired by your videos and started considering Data Analyst career to switch to from my current career. As I travelled the whole world and had my part of adventure I would love to do something routine that involves thinking and with good income and security. As to expressing my creativity I think it’s also possible to combine your job and TH-cam together as a life vlog. In this way you can have security/job and grow your channel and express yourself till you become really big to quit the job. Man possibilities are endless but I agree with you, we all are on our specific path that lead from one thing to another. Anyways, pleasure to watch. And yes you definitely gave me some intangible value!

    Are you worried about Chat GPT and its endless opportunities that now some kids are just popping up videos based on text from GPT. I feel that original videos will be lost in the mass of AI-generated videos that can pop up daily. Something that TH-cam and other platforms will really need to think about.

    You know, the sad and funny thing to me is that everyone has a problem with jobs terminating them when you have a better chance of fighting against wrongful termination (and getting your job back). But no one has any issues with being kicked off TH-cam and losing it all. There is no fight against wrongful termination. People won't put their livelihood on a lowly job, but they will put it all on the line for TH-cam, no questions asked. That's silly and dangerous.

    As a Manager of Data Analysis, many of these "I am leaving Data Analysis after five years" type videos are so dramatic but entertaining. They make it sound SO HARD when it's NOT. Half + of my managing is convincing people their luxury problems aren't real problems, THAT is the soul sucking part. I wish people would have a bit of gratitude. In this example. "can't go to the movies on a Tuesday afternoon" is not a real problem. It's an invented one
