"The devil in his eye" line about Parvos may imply something else entirely. It's been strongly hinted that Wally took interest in young Parvos, guiding him to form the Corpus. A cult that besides unhinged capitalism as a basis also has an obsession with the void.
True, though even if it were the case i think the metaphor is the same. An in-universe explanation doesnt overwrite to the allegorical, but contributes to it. (Personally, I think he was just making stuff up. Wally doesn't need to have a hand in everything, and the tenno were the entity in the story being referred to as devils by Ballas during time in the story archs)
Yes, but Granum's character itself metaphorical. person spoken of is Granum, so the the devil in his eye is likely referencing TMWITW. As corpus view the Void as a deified source of profit
Capitalism isn't about 'Gaining more money no matter the cost' its basis is 'Open and free market' Corpus bigwigs are very close-minded so the very notion of the word open would make them vomit, they hate the thought of anything being free (they quite literally take your very flesh if you can't pay with money) and finally they don't want to run a farmer's market or some shit like that, they would prefer a mega store where only their products are available and prices increased a hundredfold Taking advantage of people's desperation and eliminating competition through active greed and maliciousness is not capitalism
Ah yes, and in our current Capitalism, none take advantage of desperation nor eliminate competition for profit's sake. No company tries to stop a union from forming. The coal industry doesn't block legitimate claims to black lung or lung cancer by limiting who can approve a diagnosis in certaun states. Slave masters never forcibly bred with their human chattle and gained more slaves through the act. Corporations can always be trusted to prioritize human welfare and fairness above getting higher and higher profits to report to investors each quarter. Corporations are your friends.
@@SocraTetris I hope we can keep this civil as I don't wish to make enemies when we can simply agree to disagree We live under 'Keynesian Economics' not 'Capitalism' Besides, I'm using the actual mindset of Capitalism, not what is imagined to be 1. Capitalism is trade “When goods do not cross borders, soldiers will.” -Frederic Bastiat 2. Capitalism is a competition “The great danger to the consumer is the monopoly - whether private or governmental. His most effective protection is free competition at home and free trade throughout the world. The consumer is protected from being exploited by one seller by the existence of another seller from whom he can buy and who is eager to sell to him.” -Milton Friedman 3. Capitalism is unselfish “If you wish to prosper, let your customer prosper.” -Frederic Bastiat We don't trade nowadays, we get swindled, we don't see or get competition, seeing as it's destroyed the second it appears, and we both know for a FACT all those bigwig Wall Street and Hollywood CEO's and execs are nothing but selfish lowlife scum that would sooner see the world burn than give up even a single dollar
I think the only distinction you are making is an ideal versus the reality. You can label the system "Keynesian Economics" but we use the word Capitalism to refer to our current system in which gaining capital is the only goal of a corporation, and a great many atrocities are done toward that end. Everything from crime to health is reducible to capital. A nation's economy is not defined by a philosophical school of thought but by what it actually does, incentives, and supports. When I say "Capitalism" I mean our current situation. To correct that with, "You should call it Keynesian Economics because my conceptualization of Capitalism is pure and good," then you are arguing a point entirely separate from what I am talking about, and that makes it kind of irrelevant to me. If you want to have a broader conversation in the realm of political realism where we explore the motivationsof wealth among the motivations of nations to engage in war or maintain power, versus still the motivations of social groups to define morality and relations among people, sure. Why not? Move directly to that point. Starting with a semantic, "That’s not a circle. This is a circle." Is not what I believe you were actually aiming for.
@@SocraTetris I apologize if I came off that way, it wasn't what I had intended I did not realize you meant the current state of economics rather than capitalism as a whole I have simply seen way too many others forget or simply ignore what capitalism should be That being said, my main point of contention is when said people try to say that the current state of economics are the complete fault of capitalism simply because that is what we are told we use, and not the actual written definition I do agree with you on how modern 'capitalism' is terrible and at least in my opinion has been highjacked by bad actors I know I may sound like an idealist taking no consideration as to how said ideals will be made real, but even I know capitalism isn't perfect, nothing is after all, and we as a society must make an effort to keep said society happy and prosperous in all things
I don't believe the Corpus are capitalists for a second. They're far too corporatist by nature, as the name implies. What I was able to dig up makes me think they practice anticompetitive policies. I'd wager Ergo Glast is far more capitalist than anyone on the Corpus board of directors. Not only does he say 'a shared prosperity can bring a shared peace', but also Capitalism thrives best in a competitive market. The Corpus aren't above the use of slave labor which is counter to a capitalistic society, where competition is held though offered wages to entice potential workers into a position of employment.
Dishonest arguement in defense of capitalism alarm!!* lol, slave labor counter to capitalism? You must be the type to think nothing under heaven is ever a critique of capitalism. I've been sent this argument before, and it's nonsense. The US economy was built on slavery, and was the last of the major world powers to outlaw it. We still have in our constitutional ammendments that imprisoned people/felons can be used for slave labor. You areaking a distinction without a difference. "Corpus" is an actual word that means body. a "corporation" is called that, because it is a "body" in a legal sense. "Capitalism" is called that because it is "the belief in capital." The presentation of corpus as an religious "-ism" is an obvious connection here. Corporation and Capital are not separate in a capitalist economy. A corporation is made explicity for the purpose of making money! lol, do you think Disney os a charity or something? "Capitalism" is not self-regulating of the internal operations and motivations of a company. Legislations and political power controlling the acts of corporations is the only thing that motivates a capitalist corporation from abusing labor, lying and deceiving customers, and from violating ethics to find another dollar. That competitive market can only be maintained through socialist legislation empowered to break up monopolies and criminalize illegals trusts. Ergo Glast talks a big game about not wanting to make weapons and trying to use capitalism to create equality... but the dude still sends murder robots after you if you help his competitors! One group of hypocrits like the Perrin Sequence does not prove this made up "Corporatism" distinction real or worthwhile as a point of debate.
Love the analysis as always! 💜Small note/fun fact: Irish has long vowels, denoted by a fada or dash. As such Tír na nÓg is pronounced "Tear na nOgue" (as in rogue). The n is a modifier in front of Óg (young), for pronunciation purposes I believe. Something from that public school education for you👍
@@SocraTetris Correct! I'm not sure of the exact grammatical rules any more but I know it's a lot easier to get your mouth around "na nÓg" than "na Óg".
I dont think the Golden Hand passage refers to Adam Smiths market hand. After the "man in the high" passage I took the golden hand one as an allusion to the christian God where in the bible its written that God is life but it is also fire and destruction. It all connects as the corpus way of life is a religion ans Parvos is their messiah or even God after his supposed death.
I think you are inverting the critique. Corpus uses religious fanaticism to critique devotion to capital even in the case in which is harms and lowers quality of life. It isn't using capitalism to critique how religion generally corrupts capital. That's just a very odd way to interpret this dynamic
So was your point about how the image was used in the story of warframe? Or nah? Cuz the idea of hoenthe story uses the image and how the corpus use the image are synonymous.
Awesome video you made this so great, Ty:) Wish Warframe vids like this would have clicks as much as these stupid vids about cracked builds that need so much preparation that you will mostly never use them. Was a joy to watch man ❤
People can exist in the void without dying. They do not necessarily live there. But from the Deadlock Protocal quest, the Protea warframe quests, we saw that Parvos was stuck there.
It means they become our friends. Maybe the question of "natures" is the wrong one. Orokin tried to organize their society by assigning bioessentialiat natures to their social classes. The Grineer, Corpus, and Tenno all chose to deatroy that system when given the opportunity
I feel like if someone were to mash up "We All Lift Together" and "Sleepin In The Cold Below" really well, the resulting song would instantly radicalize anyone who heard it. Mind you, whether they'd swing to pro- or anti-capitalist might depend on the individual.
Its a good thing they have dofferent meters and different keys. Very similar though. It will be awhile before we get the society-ender song. But you are right, even if you moght have been joking. The two songs are radicalism-inspiring, but from opposite political motivations
"UMMM ACTUALLY!!!" - varietywarrior, 2024 Hi varietywarrior, idgaf about the semantic difference between "corporatism" and "capitalism." I have researched it, and it's A distinction without a difference. It serves 0 function when what I'm critiquing are issues that are materially real. Literally anyone can tell that when i say "capitalism" i mean "the current system," because that is how it colloquially understood. You're just parroting conservative rhetoric, my guy. Go read Wittgenstein to develop an understanding of when semantics is and is not important to philosophy
You know what, let me actually give you some definitions, so that you can know going forward that bith corporatism and capitalism function side by side. 1) capitalism: an economic systemin which all value, including property, real estate, and intellectual ownership, can be represented by liquid capital (money). The goal of the system is to maximize capital, and thereby theoretically maximize the total value in society. 2) corporatism: economic interests having political influence over policymakers, resulting in a regulated rather than free market. With an emphasis on the interest of the corporations maximizing their profits. (It’s just lobbying my dude!) 2a) example: Donald Trump offering to cut drilling and frakking regulations to the oil companies if they donate large sum to his campaign. (literally asking to be lobbied to in public. pro-active corporatism.) 3) So, let's do some economic realism. People will always pursue their perceived self-interest. Those with more money will seek to use that money toward self interest. The current system defines "self interest" in an economic sense to be the maximizing of profits. Those with capital will thus seek to use that capital to further maximize their ability to accrue capital and hoard more money. So, they will lobby politicians to create conditions more favorable to maximizing their own profits. the ultra-wealthy and Corporations lobby politicians in order to fund deregulation, but also to fund favorable regulations, such as reducing the cost of safety by ending safety regulation and allowing them to break up unions. They happily fire employees en masse to both prevent unions from forming and to reach quarterly profit expectations, so that shareholders feel like theyre maximizing their capital accrual. They keep wages for long time employees stagnant, which is why workers are constantly quitting their jobs for the chance to negotiate better pay elsewhere. They engage in shrinkflation so that people dont notice immediately that their cost of living/eating food enough food has gone up. They engage in mass-unemployment on a routine, annual bassis, while never decreasing their own earnings or profits to do right by the middle class and the poor. Because Capitalism says success is maximizing capital, regardless of the human value being lost in thw shuffle. "Corporatism" is just naturally what a person with enough capital to wield social power natually does: use capital to wield social power. You good now? Void be the word, and the word be Profit. Because profit is a void of true value.

Slave masters never forcibly bred with their human chattle and gained more slaves through the act. Corporations can always be trusted to prioritize human welfare and fairness above getting higher and higher profits to report to investors each quarter. Corporations are your friends.
@@SocraTetris I hope we can keep this civil as I don't wish to make enemies when we can simply agree to disagree
We live under 'Keynesian Economics' not 'Capitalism'
Besides, I'm using the actual mindset of Capitalism, not what is imagined to be
1. Capitalism is trade “When goods do not cross borders, soldiers will.” -Frederic Bastiat
2. Capitalism is a competition “The great danger to the consumer is the monopoly - whether private or governmental. His most effective protection is free competition at home and free trade throughout the world. The consumer is protected from being exploited by one seller by the existence of another seller from whom he can buy and who is eager to sell to him.” -Milton Friedman
3. Capitalism is unselfish “If you wish to prosper, let your customer prosper.” -Frederic Bastiat
We don't trade nowadays, we get swindled, we don't see or get competition, seeing as it's destroyed the second it appears, and we both know for a FACT all those bigwig Wall Street and Hollywood CEO's and execs are nothing but selfish lowlife scum that would sooner see the world burn than give up even a single dollar
@@SocraTetris I apologize if I came off that way, it wasn't what I had intended
I did not realize you meant the current state of economics rather than capitalism as a whole
I have simply seen way too many others forget or simply ignore what capitalism should be
That being said, my main point of contention is when said people try to say that the current state of economics are the complete fault of capitalism simply because that is what we are told we use, and not the actual written definition
I do agree with you on how modern 'capitalism' is terrible and at least in my opinion has been highjacked by bad actors
I know I may sound like an idealist taking no consideration as to how said ideals will be made real, but even I know capitalism isn't perfect, nothing is after all, and we as a society must make an effort to keep said society happy and prosperous in all things
Are you going to make a video about kuva liches in the future?
They don't really have much story presence. So no plans to.
9:31 Why, just why? Jung? Like rly? 28:21 ok, i gona head out.
So you have a problem with Jung? cuz you watched most of the video. care to clarify?
This video just made me realize how early into the game I still am lol
It is quite a long experience now. Sometimes the grind is slow
Something from that public school education for you👍
Interesting! So I still pronounce the 'n' in 'nÓg'? (I believe I have already mispronounced it again in a future audio recording.)
@@SocraTetris Yes, you are correct, but my point wasn't about how the Corpus uses it and for what ends.
So was your point about how the image was used in the story of warframe? Or nah? Cuz the idea of hoenthe story uses the image and how the corpus use the image are synonymous.
Awesome video you made this so great, Ty:)
Wish Warframe vids like this would have clicks as much as these stupid vids about cracked builds that need so much preparation that you will mostly never use them.
Was a joy to watch man ❤
I'm glad you enjoyed it, EuzAion. Plenty more warframe vids like these to come. I've got plenty of material to work with
You deserve many subscribers
And soon we may have them!
@@SocraTetris without a doubt 💯🙌
what was that last clips of Parvos and the Sisters from?
it will play once you have a sister of parvos hunt you
Nice
Noice B)
Was this video suposed to be about Sisters of parvos or Call of tempestari recap?
Yes
So do they live in in the void planning? I’m confused by the end
People can exist in the void without dying. They do not necessarily live there. But from the Deadlock Protocal quest, the Protea warframe quests, we saw that Parvos was stuck there.
What does it mean when wether we convert a lich or sister of parvos to our side?, they reject their nature or achieve it? I dont get it
It means they become our friends. Maybe the question of "natures" is the wrong one. Orokin tried to organize their society by assigning bioessentialiat natures to their social classes. The Grineer, Corpus, and Tenno all chose to deatroy that system when given the opportunity
Wait wheres the final cutscene? I've never seen it before
By my understanding, You get this scene when you get your first Sister of Parvos nemesis. Like with the Kuva Liches
The two songs are radicalism-inspiring, but from opposite political motivations
is it "devil in his eye" or "deble in his eye"?
I'm not sure that Parvos is ebil enough to play Adventure Quest
Aint nothing worse than the warframe sing-a-longs. makes me want to join Ballas in Tau.
I wasn't to keen on the song when I first heard it, but it has warmed up to be over time. Now I like it even more that We All Lift
"Critique of capitalist ideology"
It's corporatist, actually. Quite literallly, given the history of the Corpus.
"UMMM ACTUALLY!!!" - varietywarrior, 2024
Hi varietywarrior, idgaf about the semantic difference between "corporatism" and "capitalism." I have researched it, and it's A distinction without a difference.
(It’s just lobbying my dude!)
2a) example: Donald Trump offering to cut drilling and frakking regulations to the oil companies if they donate large sum to his campaign. (literally asking to be lobbied to in public. pro-active corporatism.)
3) So, let's do some economic realism.
You waste to much of your video time playing cutscenes and dialogue.
No I didn't.
