Hi from UK have been subbed to this channel for years now and always have based my purchases based on your reviews hence why am on here now looking for a smart vacuum
This is the video I've been waiting for. Having two German Shepphards who only shed once a year, over the period of 365 days, AND 3 cats on top of that; being able to handle hair is daftly important to me.
"Once a year, over the period of 365 days..." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Can I borrow this description to explain why I show up to work and events covered in collie/St. Bernard/Eskimo dog hair?
I bought the Roborock Qrevo Curv about 10 days ago and so far I've been blown away by the performance. I have a somewhat complex setup with animals, mutliple floor types including hardwood, linolium, low pile & high pile carpets and so far Ive had to rescue the robot a grand total of zero times. The only "intervention" I did was when I noticed when it went to empty the dust bin I stopped hearing anything (normally you can hear some stuff being sucked out of the robot) and when I went to check there was so much pet hair in the bin that it got clogged near the port where it transfers into the docking station, took 10 seconds to fix and it was back working again. Must say that mopping performance is hands down 10/10, no streaks left behind, floors are spotless and it seems to pickup everything both big and small. I checked the brushes last night and can confirm, absolutely ZERO tangles and my wife has very long hair that has tangled all our previous robots so this "zero tangle" brush is a game changer for us. Only downside I can really say is that I empty the dirty water tank and refill the clean tank almost daily (Could probably last 2 days), but I set the water flow rate to high and I have a rather large area to clean and sometimes set it to deep clean. Since the unit is next to my kitchen sink the process is super quick and easy but having it connected to plumbing would be the ultimate setup. Honestly its an amazing unit and so far have zero regrets.
I've also had mine for about 10 days and I am equally obsessed. It's my first robovac though so it's extra exciting for me right now. Took some time to fully explore the app... mostly a good experience but there are some things I wish I could change, like the ability to vocally tell it to ONLY vacuum a room or something because it does both mop and vac. I agree about the water... Anyways, I wish I'd had the restraint to wait for black Friday but after watching VW review of it I was sold! Love, love, love it and I have it set to clean my apartment every night and a few other random clean jobs during the day (like in the bathroom after I have brushed my hair). BTW, I noticed there are no proper replacement parts on the roboroc site yet specifically for the Curv 🤔 I wonder if they are just currently sold out or what the deal is... a bit concerning since the maintenance requires regular replacing of quite a bit...
THANK YOU!!! from those of us who have shedding dogs. My Roombas never got the hair as far as the bin although the newer ones are at least easier to remove the hair from the roller than the old brush rollers.
We purchased the L60 and could not be happier with this robot. We have four cats and three women in the house. Long and short hairs would clog our other robots. The saw blade in the SES L60 that cuts off tangles is a total game changer. I’d rather buy a tineco mop vac for the hardwoods than loose out on the hair removal.
I have the Dreame L40 Ultra. I run it every day without any issues. I bought the hair cutting roller and because my dog sheds and I have long hair. I have it set to remove the mop pads before vacuuming carpets on turbo deep clean. The only thing I've needed to do is empty and refill water. So easy.
My boy the L60! Aside from a mechanical failure in one of the wheels which I am replacing I have been loving it. the hair cutting blade in the base station does wonders for clearing away most of the long hair, I just have to pop the brush out every couple days to clear the hair on the ends. And this is with running it everyday multiple times a day in my animal shelter. so its ALOT of hair.
Absolutely love your channel, the 'direct to the point' format, and the constant progression made to your tests! I have purchased a Eufy X10 Pro Omni for our new home because of your fantastic reviews. Keep up the awesome work!
I appreciate the new pet metrics, but recommend adding a metric for the performance of the auto-empty bin for those with that feature. I have the roborock s7 MaxV Ultra and it simply cannot handle husky fur no matter how often I run the vacuum and send it to empty. The narrow port in the base is constantly jamming and I have to use another vacuum with my dryer vent attachment to clean it out. The only way I can get it to function well is to go around with a stick vacuum first to get any clumps. I would love to find something better so I'm not having to vacuum before I vacuum!!
Awesome job on the review! Seriously, I love how much effort you put into it, and it’s clear you’re crushing it with those ratings-way to go! Now, let me set the stage here: our house is hair central. We’ve got two golden retrievers, two cats, and six kids (yep, six-four of them girls), so hair is basically its own entity around here. Keeping it under control is like a full-time job. Our robotic vacuums are on constant duty just to keep us sane. I’ve gone down the rabbit hole researching this because dealing with hair wrapped around rollers and axles is the worst. Imagine me cutting out clumps of fur every other day, realizing 99% of the hair isn’t even in the vacuum bag-it’s a roller party. Currently, we’ve got the eufy L60 Hybrid running the show, and wow, it’s a lifesaver. The docking station’s built-in blade slices away hair like a pro-seriously amazing. Then there’s the Dreame L10s. Its original rubber roller? Total flop on carpet. So, I swapped it out for the brush roller, which was better, but hair tangles? Still a nightmare. Enter the TriCut Brush-cue the heavenly choir. Total game-changer! No more sitting around with scissors every two days. It’s been a hair-wrangling revolution, and I couldn’t be happier!
Great post, thanks. We also have two Goldies and a couple of cats too, wondering how often you fill/replace the dust bag? I am hanging out for a good bagless option but pretty limited options at the moment.
We just bought the Roborock Qrevo master- I have three cats, three kids and a poodle mix dog (non-shedding but still messy). We have been trying the daylight out of this thing- it does not do well with hair- pet hair nor human hair! It seems to clog and then it misses an awful lot. However, it does really good on our Hard floors other than it doesn’t use its extendable swirling arm as often it should. Missing key areas like under the cat litter box. Where there’s lots of sand and it would get it if it just extended the arm! We have been using it every day- and have to do some maintenance on it everyday. However less time than vacuuming and sweeping and mopping, and it’s helping teach my kids and spouse “oh no! Rocky is coming- better go pick up! Quick!”. Lol that’s nearly worth all the money!
Sooo much better @vacuum wars!! These new tests are so much more in line with what my experiences have been and I really trust them. Awesome job team!!!
Great addition to the site thanks, but.... one last point that I believe we need to include for pet owners. As an owner of two Golden Retrievers we vacuum and empty the large Dyson bagless at least once every couple of days. As most Robot Vacs have dust bags, other than Ecovac N20 Pro Plus and the Eureka E10 and E20 models, there's not a lot of options as we don't want the extra cost of 2-3 dust bags a week. Could you please do a quick Pet review of the N20 Pro Plus and Eureka and any other bagless (base station) based on the same protocol? Thanks
I got my Eufy X10 Pro Omni for $550 in October. For the price, I'm very satisfied with it's ability to pick up my corgi's fur in a 2 bedroom all hardwood apartment.
@@JWard2 No. It empties the dirt it sucked up into a replaceable bag in the docking station. Very easy to swap the bags out. The bags last about a month or 2 for me.
Absolute best bang for buck right now is Deebot N10 Max+ for $145 refurbished like new with two year warranty. Has lidar AND dtof sensors so it wont run over dog shit. Our dog is potty trained but accidents happen ,and when it does, you REALLY want a vacuum to have obstacle avoidance.
I have a Eufy L60 and a black lab in an apartment with hardwood and carpet. It does a decent job on both but it struggles on the transitions from my area rug to hardwood. I’ll notice a lot of hair just off the edge of the area rug. Must be due to the vacuum forced to be on an angle as it straddles the edge which increases the distance to the hair.
For me, that is the kryptonite of what would be a fabulous robot vacuum. It does not like rugs, specifically the "getting on them" part. We have some thinner washable rugs in our entry ways and the bottom of the robot will peel them over at times. Even with that, it is the best for my environment.
In Australia - Dreame L10s Pro Ultra Heat ($1297) OR Roborock Qrevo MaxV ($1448) - Spec'd so similar, +Roborock has Vacuum Liftup when Mopping - which one is better overall or for operating in the dark room, corridors or even at night 50/50 floor vinyl/lowpile carpet? also pet hair, dust.
Mr.White I'm going through your research to find a suitable robotvac(once again). I found that your list of "Cons" for the Roborock Qrevo S were mostly huge "Pros" from my pov, and I wonder - is there any value in providing a "privacy" score or section. I'd much rather a robot that has scanned my ankles with LiDar than one that has a camera and is internet connected. My dog avoids the robot so I'm not needing a "check on pet" feature. Sure obstacle avoidance takes a toll but it's worth it in my books. Anyway, thank you for the content all these years!
More recently, as "privacy" has become an issue. This is mentioned in reviews as well as in manufacturers product descriptions/specifications. Is it not generally, the device has a camera or not? I imagine it someone wanted to hack into the Wi-Fi in a house and into the resident robot vacuums and see what setting and schedules had been set. While there is value in that, at least to the manufacturer(s) an immense amount of data is being amassed by the manufacturers of smart devices.
Thanks for this video, very helpful. I wish you had the FREO z ultra in this comparison as they have an open ended brush for zero tangles. We got one about two weeks ago, have to people with long hair and a large dog which sheds like crazy. So far not one hair in the brush, very impressive.
Hey Thanks for the great reviews. I like your approach, the data driven methodology is really good. A bit out of context for this video, but do you retest robots after a while ? The difference between dreame x40 and L40 seems big. Is the changes between x40 and L40 hardware or software ? Or just price? I'm looking at the dreame x40 vs the L40, and in my country the x40 is ~200 usd cheaper at ~950 usd. So my most burning question is: If the x40 was 200 USD cheaper than the L40 - which would you get ?
I'm guessing that the Narwal Freo Z Ultra video review is coming up? I couldn't find a list of top Pet Rating like you have with Best Obstacle Avoidence and Best Mopping, but the list of Best Robot Vacuums it was the only one with 5.0 in Pet Review so I guess it's the new #1 on Pet Review 💪
I have Eufy L60(thanks to your recommendation before) and I actually don't agree with the tangle test. IMO it should be running for longer, because while the main brush stays mostly clean of pet hair - that I do agree with, L60 has INSANE issues with pet hair(and women hair lol) wrapping around the side brush and the wheels. It almost stopped spinning recently and had to unscrew it and clean it out by hand - barely 2 months after buying it. Overall it's a great vacuum(a bit loud when emptying but ehh, price), but this particular issue could be worth mentioning/testing too IMO
I recently returned a Roborock Qrevo Master because the self-emptying mechanism frequently clogged with pet hair, requiring manual intervention even when set to empty after each room. Do these have a more reliable self-emptying system for handling pet hair?
Wow, I recently asked about hair tangle and not only you added new metric, you did entire video focused on this. Thanks a lot! Here in Czechia we already have black friday discounts and i just bought Samsung jet bot combo with 1/3 discount. Not the best one out there, but for this price I like it a lot and I have a lot of samsung products, so it will be easier to integrate to my "smart home". Keep up the good work 🫡
Hear my out the dyson 360 is 🐐 on carpet cleaning and I’d say best all around for hair easily I love mine it don’t have all bells and whistles but pure carpet cleaning can’t beat it the x10 is great at mopping and vacuuming as well
@vacuumwars Are there any robots that’s failed the doggy accident test (Ran over poo)? Looking at the RoboRock QRevo S as a budget pick. I have seen that its obstacle avoidance is bad. Does it run into poop?
We have a Roborock S7 Max, and learned it just cant survive two huskies, one of which is a wooly extra hair husky boy. It gets super compacted with hair on everything that moves, and the base station clogs weekly. Even if it runs one room at a time. 3 times a day.
Does anyone know if the complete list of the hair tangle test shown at 5:29 is available somewhere? Removing hair from the brush is not fun, so to me that is a quite important metric.
My Dearme L20 can no longer empty its dust bin to dust bag with all the dog hair. Even though the auto empty runs. Something for you to look into as well
@@ASkobel I have cleaned that, change auto empty frequence to high. Change to a new bag will get it working but only to fill up to 1/3 and stop. Then you alway have nice, tightly pack "fur rug" coming out of the dust bin
Was that the roborock app you showed with the auto empty by distance setting? I don't see that in mine, if not then hopefully someone at the company sees this video and prioritizes doing it, in order to work around the lack of that setting I have to schedule each individual room with the setting to return and empty at the end instead of just having it clean the entire house
Please please please review canisters. As somone who's recently become disabled i find canisters are the best for whole house cleaning while being easy to move, lightweight, and strong suction .
There’s 3 major issues, when it runs through poop or vomit and spreads it all over the floor. That’s the most annoying issue. You can’t run it on schedule if it doesn’t detect and avoid pet accidents.
Thank you so much the hair ranking was the most important for me!! Unfortunately I am a little late having purchased my robot a month ago 😅 I went with the Yeedi M12 PRO/ Ecovacs DEEBOT T30 OMNI that end up dealing fantastically with hairs thanks to its included brush but that was a PAIN to search for when now it displays 4.5 stars on the test so it would have been much easier :)
have a roborock s6 pure that was supposed to be okay with pet hair, but the hair gets into the two large side wheels and absolutely destroys them. already changed the wheels once a year ago and they're breaking again. considering the q8 max + this time 🤔
And what about seeing the top ranking for robot vacuums that don't have a mopping feature? It seems increasingly harder to filter out the mop combos when searching now. Mopping seems to add hundreds of dollars for a feature I don't plan on using at all and also seems to inflate the score a lot on reviews.
My 1st edition Q Revo gets clogged with pet hair every time I use it. I agree, I should run it more, but the design of the auto bin has a shart turn to get to the bag, which looks to still be the case in all the newer Revos so I won't be buying one again. I'm angry every time I'm on my knees, digging my finger in the damn hole to clean it out, while the bag is empty basically. $700 bucks and my hands are dirtier than if I just vacuumed myself.🤬 And I only have a small dog, cats and all hardwood other than two bedrooms they hardly go in. And my Revo only allows the vacuum to empty every ten minutes. Should have gone with DreamWorks. Ugh..
OK so I have to ask. You said you have a new "pet rating" added to your list, and you also included obstacle avoidance in determining your top 3 from this video. Why is the Narwal Freo Z Ultra not in this video? Is it because you haven't released that review yet? On your website it has your highest pet score rating, and your highest obstacle avoidance rating, but it is missing from your top 3 on this video. I know we are all eagerly awaiting your video review to come out for the Freo Z Ultra, and maybe that will provide answers? Just a little confused as to why that vacuum would not be on this video when it clearly was rated the highest in your 2 categories you mention in this video.
I noticed this when I was waiting for the review for the Roborock Qrevo Curv. It was already on the list (as #1) but no review video was out on it. Then it came a week later. It looks he uploads once a week so there’s a bunch of videos in line to be uploaded next. I think the video just might be a little outdated already since it was probably waiting to be uploaded and he reviewed the Narwhal in the meantime. I bet you’ll find the review video next week for it
@@hobbytinkerer6736yea that makes sense but he also has the narwal freo z in his list of scores that he has in the video. So he reviewed the hair pickup at least in relation to this video. I just want his thoughts i guess on the freo z, and i assume the review will provide clarity. Kinda weird to have that be top on your pet rating and obstacle scale, and not be in this video. So i am curious to hear his review.
@@Tato223 He said he is working on the video. He probably adds the scores to the website as he tests, but the video can take some time to put together.
i have no carpet in rooms because it is not healthy for our lungs. Carpet needs to be washed every year 4 times minimum. To much dirt gets inside and you have that in room and breathing when you a sleep. We spend minimum at home 12 hours per day so 60 years of carpet not cleaning regular as you clean your floor, you can get asthma and a lot of people gets it after using years of same carpet.
There's one metric, not even mentioned in this video, that I consider to be the most important when dealing with pet hair. Bag vs Bagless. You're gonna be spending a fortune continuously filling up bags if you have a pet. After experiencing having a Self-empty robot with a bag and a dog and a cat, I will only ever have bagless from now on. So much easier, cheaper, and it holds a lot more between empties.
Please, please implement standardized noise testing... Something like a sound meter in the room during a test run. Ideally testing the "quiet" vacuum option. Thanks.
It'd be nice to see the noise as a metric too. It's one thing to see how loud the robot vac is, but with the mop cleaning combo units these days, I'm curious to see how loud the base is during bin emptying and mop cleaning. Mop cleaning would take some good amount of time to do the wash cycle and drying, so I'm quite worried about that.
Can you like maybe get your reviews to be official? Like a national testing lab for vacuum robots, your review and your logo can be put on the box by the manufacturer. With a small QR code linking to your website and review. This would be huge for channel growth and for customers making the correct buying decision. Maybe take in a repairability score into your tests? Are parts available, how much do they cost, how reliable is the robot over the years, and so on (based on previous models).
Love the channel, but there are two things this video doesn't seem to cover. I have 4 dogs and these are my issues I have with their hair. Your video doesn't cover hair plumes. Loose balls of hair. I've seen some so big with my dogs that my RoboRock S7 Max will just avoid it like it's an object. These plums also do something I don't see tested on your channel and thats: "Station suction/airflow". The S7 MaxV's station has 4 90 Degree turns before it gets into it's bag. It's tube is small. It regularly gets clogged with dog hair for me and I have to clean it out. A clogged pipe means the vacuum doesn't empty and I doesn't do it's job. Would love to see a video on auto vacuums that doesn't just focus on the vacuum it's self, but it's station and how good it is.
Are you using synthetic hair? Synthetic hair is typically thicker and much harder to cut/detangle. I think you would get more fair/accurate results using real hair.

I can't say how long I've been waiting for this video.
S5 Roborock owner here. It’s ok with dog hair. I see it run over some and nothing but the bag when changed and the brush is frequently full of hair.
While there is value in that, at least to the manufacturer(s)
an immense amount of data is being amassed by the manufacturers of smart devices.
Thanks for this video, very helpful. I wish you had the FREO z ultra in this comparison as they have an open ended brush for zero tangles. We got one about two weeks ago, have to people with long hair and a large dog which sheds like crazy. So far not one hair in the brush, very impressive.
Our full review of the Narwal Freo Z Ultra is up now at: th-cam.com/video/44tEV7M65Og/w-d-xo.html
Hey
Thanks for the great reviews.
Very well done testing and review!
Thank you so much!
I’d really like to see you review the newer Eufy C20
Great share of these models, pretty useful and expertise.
Keep up the good work 🫡
Thank you! Enjoy your new Samsung!
excellent content! now please do one for carpet cleanrs! (and perhaps even spot cleaners)
How would you rate the Costco version Roborock QX Revo!?
Hear my out the dyson 360 is 🐐 on carpet cleaning and I’d say best all around for hair easily I love mine it don’t have all bells and whistles but pure carpet cleaning can’t beat it the x10 is great at mopping and vacuuming as well
So glad you have been happy with it!
FINALLY! Better late than never. Thank you for adding this.
You're very welcome!
Thank you!!!! I would ne be nice to have a TOP 3 ONLY Vacuum and TOP 3 Hybrid. ;)
Did you include the tricut brush in your ranking of any of the Dreame robots?
@vacuumwars Are there any robots that’s failed the doggy accident test (Ran over poo)?
Looking at the RoboRock QRevo S as a budget pick. I have seen that its obstacle avoidance is bad. Does it run into poop?
Were the dreame robots tested with the tri cut brush?
I have a pretty thick throw rug that my current vacuum cleaner will not go over. What vacuum cleaner do you suggest to go over a large transition
Something for you to look into as well
There is a filter in the base station that likely needs cleaning behind the vacuum bag.
I have a question. What is your personal vacuum that you use up till this day for your house?
Why did the roborock qrevo maxv drop so drastically from #4 to #18
Please please please review canisters. As somone who's recently become disabled i find canisters are the best for whole house cleaning while being easy to move, lightweight, and strong suction .
is possible to have your excel file with all robot?? are more intresting to see all the differences. THanks for your work
There’s 3 major issues, when it runs through poop or vomit and spreads it all over the floor. That’s the most annoying issue. You can’t run it on schedule if it doesn’t detect and avoid pet accidents.
I don't really understand why people have a problem with pet poo and vomit in the house, unless the animal is sick, which should be rare.
Thank you so much the hair ranking was the most important for me!! Unfortunately I am a little late having purchased my robot a month ago 😅
I went with the Yeedi M12 PRO/ Ecovacs DEEBOT T30 OMNI that end up dealing fantastically with hairs thanks to its included brush but that was a PAIN to search for when now it displays 4.5 stars on the test so it would have been much easier :)
Did you link that spreadsheet you created?
Thanks needed this video
Glad to hear it!
was the Roomba s9+ included in the competition?
have a roborock s6 pure that was supposed to be okay with pet hair, but the hair gets into the two large side wheels and absolutely destroys them. already changed the wheels once a year ago and they're breaking again. considering the q8 max + this time 🤔
Hi, im still not sure which to buy eufy L60 or Roborock q5 pro+ which one did better on the list ?
pls post review of qrevo slim. thanks
Please include an comparison funktion into the website
Just in time for Black Friday deals!
This is perfect thanks!
Awesome! Thank you!
And what about seeing the top ranking for robot vacuums that don't have a mopping feature? It seems increasingly harder to filter out the mop combos when searching now. Mopping seems to add hundreds of dollars for a feature I don't plan on using at all and also seems to inflate the score a lot on reviews.
One thing about my i7+ is it leaves behind hair clumps if I havent run it in like a week.
Did u look at the narwal z?
Our full review of the Narwal Freo Z Ultra is up now at: th-cam.com/video/44tEV7M65Og/w-d-xo.html
Why is Roborock S8+ or the S8 Ultra not on the list? Previous test it got 99% hair pickups on hard floor vs carpet
Can you please make a review on the 3i S10 Ultra.
We just got ours!
Where can I find the table with just the pet scores?
Can we see the spreadsheet with all the scores?
My 1st edition Q Revo gets clogged with pet hair every time I use it. I agree, I should run it more, but the design of the auto bin has a shart turn to get to the bag, which looks to still be the case in all the newer Revos so I won't be buying one again. I'm angry every time I'm on my knees, digging my finger in the damn hole to clean it out, while the bag is empty basically. $700 bucks and my hands are dirtier than if I just vacuumed myself.🤬
And I only have a small dog, cats and all hardwood other than two bedrooms they hardly go in. And my Revo only allows the vacuum to empty every ten minutes.
Should have gone with DreamWorks. Ugh..
will you ever review
the shark power detect never touch ?
That on actually just made it on our Top 20 list. vacuumwars.com/best-vacuum-cleaners/robot-vacuums/
How often do you think a robot vacuum should clean floors a week?
It always depends on the household and what it needs.
@VacuumWars i have three kids and i vacuum 2 days a weekand. Then vacuum and mop once a week.
Was the x40 tested with the tri cut brush?
Why do all the recommendations include mopping capability? Do you have any recommendations for a robot vacuum that only vacuums?
Do you know how to be a part of iRobot beta?
yeah, buy one of their robots and you'll always be beta testing them . . .
@@cletusowns😂😂😂 so true
ULTIMATE VACUUM BRAND that is good for both carpet and hard floors that will also last for couple of years.
i have no carpet in rooms because it is not healthy for our lungs.
How does the Narwal Z not show up in this list when it has the highest pet/obstacle avoidance rating on the site?
It was tested after i made this video. The website is more up to date
@@VacuumWars Cheers. I am one of the many on the fence between that guy and the Curve so we're splitting (pet) hairs here.
@@VacuumWars Oh that reminds me. Will there be a video review for the Narwal?
@@VacuumWars Do you have an ETA on when your video review of the Narwal Freo Z will be out? :)
Is there going to be a “Best Stick Vacuum for Pet Hair”? 🙏🏻
That isn't in the plan right now but thats a good suggestion. Thank you!
Please review Narwal Freo ultra z
We hope it was worth the wait!
My gf, me and my cat shed hair like crazy and the curv doesn’t have any strand of hair stuck. No matter what
How good is it on pickup on carpets?
@ it’s actually very good! I don’t think my carpets has never been cleaner. I did turn off some feature about carpet. It was talked about it here.
I heard Roborok doesn't run around cables well
The best robot vac for pets? The one that can accommodate more cats riding on top. 😂
Our cats won't cooperate!
Eufy x10 also always you to purchase a rubber brush only.
6:51 Roombas know when they are full. Other brands can’t tell?
Roomba has a patent on that feature I believe
We have many pets. Still we won’t own a vacuum with a camera. The last thing we need is a data/privacy distributor that talks to our pets.
I completely agree!
Freo Z ultra still being black balled i see 😂
No EZVIZ testing?
I have my own business running a small storefront. I need a commercial stick vacuum that doesn’t take up space
Are you using synthetic hair? Synthetic hair is typically thicker and much harder to cut/detangle. I think you would get more fair/accurate results using real hair.
Any robot mop combo they can make so it can pick up 100% of pet hair.
Seem odd that max V went from #4 to #18
