    Nice review. I think the lip is deep so it represents a mug/cup so it would be nice to actually drink from. I actually use a tefal one (the same make as the saucepans) Has a very similar lid design and I actually like it, prefer it to other mugs with a small opening. especially when drinking hot drinks. i always manage to burn my lips on those types. The plastic coating on the outside has several benefits. it makes it more durable, also acts as an extra layer to keep it warmer. when choosing a travel mug i always look for the following The main things i always look for in a travel mug(i use one every day for work) is 1) The amount of liquid it holds, ( I use the Vertuo Alto capsules) with hot milk from the Aeroccino 4 . 2) how hot the drink stays. or in the summer how long it stays cold. 3) durability/Toughness, it has to last. 4) it has to be easy to take apart. and clean. i personally prioritize all of that over how it looks. For the wife though the most important thing is how it looks and how you drink from it. Anyhow keep the videos coming.

      Great to hear your thoughts. There are such a variety of things people will want out of a travel mug and ways people like to use them, that it's definitely difficult to make a one size fits all mug for sure. Glad you're happy with your Tefal travel mug and how it looks is also high up there on my wife's list too!

    I just wanted to add if you ever do Travle mug reviews in the future.
    Include how easy it is to diesemble, by this i mainly mran the seal. Some of the viggest problems i have with travle mugs and the reson im looking at reviews is how difficult some mugs are to remove seals to ensure good clean.
    If had even just water bottles that have grown mold around and under the seals even with putting it in the dish washer weekly, so now i only buy ones wear the seal can be removed and cleaned.

    The design is also not very good from hygienic standpoint, considering that the part where you drink from is constantly exposed to the outside and will collect a lot of germs over time. Also coffee leftovers there will make this even worse.

    Looks stylish but I agree with you it’s too large for small hands and I don’t really like the opening mechanism. I have the Vertuo travel mug which is brilliant, easy to clean, keeps the coffee hot for a long time and it’s so easy to drink from. Many thanks for that and Nespresso needs to add more colours to appeal to us ladies 😂.

    Can you please do a review on the older style Alto travel mug? I just brought one and would like to know your thoughts on it and its capacity compared to the Alto vertuo capsules? @@A2BProductions I received mine this week. Its pretty big but takes the whole vertuo alto pod which a lot of other travel mugs out there don't. Has a max fill line which is handy to ensure no overflowing when you screw the lid on. The lid is super easy to clean as it just has a clip lock lid. Can confirm keeps the coffee hot for 2 hours, didn't test any longer and the outside was cool touch. As the cup is stainless steel it seems to be very durable construction. Maybe a little heavy but for desk use its fine. Keen to hear your thoughts!

    This thing is impossible to clean! I tried to figure out how to disassemble the lid to clean it properly, but Nespresso don't want us to disassemble it. Tried to do it anyways, bent a plastic piece and now I don't know if it will work again.
    Hydro Flask is a way better product because you can actually take apart every single piece of the lid to clean them. It's the only way to make sure there's no gunk or suspect smell over time!

  • @anarchistwombat7301
    @anarchistwombat7301 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    We were traveling and didn't have an opportunity to wash ours in clean water for a few days after having a latte in it. The lid now smells like rotten milk and, try as I might, I have not been able to disassemble the lid to clean it. In my opinion this makes this product not just useless, but dangerous. There is clearly bacteria growing in the lid that can't be removed and even before this incident, when it was washed daily, it was clear we weren't able to get all of the coffee out of the lid. We got this free from Nespresso for ordering a lot of coffee, but I certainly can't recommend purchasing or even using it more than a few times.

    • @anarchistwombat7301
      @anarchistwombat7301 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Note that I have managed to partially disassemble the lid, but I haven't gotten the full mechanism out. I was able to get the top of the push button lid up and under that was a spring and gasket, both of which had a ton of gunk in them. The actual part that pops in and out I still have not removed.

We did a video comparing the Nespresso travel mugs recently and think I removed the sleeve on that but in case not you just take the lid off, squeeze quite firmly near the top rim where the two metal side bits are (Nespresso branded) and pull the metal out of the plastic. Takes a bit of getting used to and you do need to pull it quite hard.
