I just purchased the Baurer right angle drill and I have to say I'm very impressed with it! A solid well built drill for the money! I love Baurer line of tools and will to continue to buy them as the need arises!
I'm not sure I have ever seen Bauer win a comparison. I really like my Bauer tools. This right angle drill will bentje next Bauer tool I purchase. Thank you for your very informative video!
Wow, excellent review! I like the fact that you provide the tool-only price and the dB rating (which a lot of reviewers don’t mention). You gotta love that a $40 Bauer beat out the likes of the significantly more expensive Snap On and Makita, but even beat out the two Milwaukees, as well. One note about Harbor Freight’s Bauer tools… I’ve noticed that the tool and battery prices are very reasonable, even cheap, but their battery chargers are sold separately and are significantly overpriced. Anyone else notice this?
Bauer has 2 single chargers for about 35 each, the rapid plus being the better deal, a dual rapid plus charger for 60 and 6 bay charger for 80. The Hercules has the single for 45, dual charger for 70 and a fan cooled 8 amp charger for 75. The cheapest dual voltage charger Milwaukee sells is 80 dollars. Makita 110, Dewalt 120.
Great Video !!! Snap-on is NOT Going to be happy when they see this ! 😂 Snap on got Spanked HARD ! Ryobi Really did well ! very surprised. but they make a decent tool & platform. Shocked at how poorly others did. Also - Everything should be brushless in this day & age. very suprised how well - ryobi , bauer , kobalt , rigid did !
Thanks! Yeah I was surprised by the results. You could make a case for SnapOn if it was made in the US or half the price. I really do like the 14.4 battery pack with 2 cells in the handle vs 3 in bosch and Milwaukee. Its crazy some of the name brand drills are still brushed.
I like the flexible head on that Bosch, but it really doesn't have much going for it in the performance department. Great set of tests, thanks for sharing the results.
i own keyed chuck 12v makita .very smooth tool, lacks power .but small which was what was most important . use it generally for predrilling in tight spaces . loved the review . i would love to see the big right angle drills compared .
I just bought an M18 Super Hawg because it’s well reviewed and that’s my main system, but it’s huge so I need a small RA and the M18 clearly doesn’t pass muster. Now considering a Bauer until the M18 or DeWalt (my other system) catches up. Thanks for the great video - I just subscribed.
I have had the dewalt for like 8 years now and it could definitely use an upgraded brushless model. I don't particularly like using it as the power isnt that great and being a steel worker. However the 1.7 powerstack is just a perfect fit for the tool as it is meant for tight spots and it's not a heavily used tool. Have the kobalt as well as I got it on clearance and it is jus too bulky and tend to grab the dewalt. The kobalt is also longer then the dewalt and the dewalt also has a deep 1/4" hex inside the chuck so with those kind of bits you get the drill even more compact
If you do the test on the larger right angle stud drills you should also throw in the dewalt flexvolt mud mixer drill since it's style is still like just a big ass drill just not right angle. I'm also just curious because I already have and would like to see how it performs to the stud drills lol
Wow, great info and product breadth! I'll be honest, I wasn't loving what I'm seeing from most of them...Very disappointed in the Milwaukee-especially since I have the M12 system for other tools...In the testing it sounded like the Metabo was super loud and your db test backed that up. Really appreciate the sound level tests and I continue to be surprised how different they all are. The Ridgid is tempting as it checks a lot of boxes. Thanks for doing this.
Yeah the M12 and M18 could use a refresh. The metabo and makita require ear protection. They are really loud and the tone is annoying. If it wasn’t for the Bauer being so cheap, I would have put Rigid number one. No problem! Glad you found it useful!
M18. I used the piss out of this for several years doing custom metal work and it held up great. Don’t use it much anymore. It’s Gutless imo as far as power but fits in some places. I don’t have any idea what I paid for it 7+ years ago. Your right they need to update this
Interesting to see Ridgid as the best performer of the TTI group. I’ve never understood why nobody makes a decent right angle drill in this form factor. They all come across as and perform like after thoughts. I know Milwaukee, Flex, and others make very large and powerful cordless right angles but they’re way too large and are clearly meant for construction. I used the Ryobi at my shop and it always did the jobs I needed it to do albeit you couldn’t push it. Might have to get the Ridgid for myself.
@@OcRefrig No doubt. But at this point it seems like it might cost more to keep making old stuff and have to keep the supply of that old stuff then it would to get rid of a bunch of SKUs for old parts and harmonize it with new stuff.
I managed to get the ryobi for 55 dollars on a DTO sale, technically 70 including shipping, but it wasn't the only thing I purchased so the shipping fee wasn't as bad as its flat rate. It also came with some polishing bits, which is weird, but they were free
Absolutely love these videos, the range of brands and detailed specs is awesome keep it up. Curious, have you considered testing battery/electric OPE? Battery lawnmower battle? I can't think of anyone that wouldn't want to watch that. I have a greenworks 80v and I'm convinced it's the strongest out there, or is it? Testing battery lawnmower claims? 🤔Yes pleeeeeez
Thanks! I have considered OPE, but its even more expensive to test. I hope to do lawn mowers, but it probably won't be until next year because that cost. Adapting to each one might be a challenge, but the dyno motor I can probably source for 1.5K. Im working on creating a setup for chainsaws right now.
@@Tools-Tested totally understandable, the batteries alone on bigger 80v models are a fortune, even the 56v and 40v. Anyway keep up the testing love the channel!
Lol, I call it how I see it. I have been called a HF fan boy in one video and hatter in another. Problem is most will watch one video and instantly label me. It’s crazy they act like they know me, if they did actually, they would know I look at value vs performance. No problem!
Right angle drills must not sell well for the "Big 3" in the US to still be selling brushed models. The only reason I can think of is Makita doesn't see the market and Dewalt & Milwaukee would rather you buy their multi head drills that include the right angle adapter. I can't speak for the Dewalt but the Milwaukee is maxed out with a 3/8 drill bit in steel and a 1/2 paddle bit in wood. To be fair I don't carry a small right angle drill on my work van because I run Dewalt / Milwaukee and wasn't impressed with their options being brushed. It hasn't been a big deal yet as I use a 1/4 hex right angle adapter in a pinch so I guess the tool companies know their market lol. Thanks as always for the excellent testing!
IMO, size is being really underweighted in the final results here. When you get to a length of 4.5+", its the same length as some impact drivers so I don't really know who should be buying that tool. To each their own, but for me a right angle drill is a complementary tool that needs to hit a certain size difference to your core drill/driver combo to even be considered. The Ridgid and Ryobi would be my choices.
Best right angle drill I've ever used, and used it almost every day, was the 2 1/2 hp Black and Decker Timberwolf. Normally 1/2" to 4" drill bits. It was a monster. Never had an issue with it, except pilot error.
there has to be something wrong with your ryobi 12ah battery, theres a couple of test you've done now with it where it performs like on top of the 8ah when it shouldnt
@james2042 I would have to go back and look at the 8ah and 12ah battery test video, but I thought the 12ah had a lower voltage drop. Now the 9ah I do question, I would have thought it should be on top.
Finally someone who Tests EVERY real brand option
I try lol, some videos need a part 2 but this one didn’t luckily.
I just purchased the Baurer right angle drill and I have to say I'm very impressed with it! A solid well built drill for the money! I love Baurer line of tools and will to continue to buy them as the need arises!

Yeah Bauer seems like the best value, this along with the brushless angle grinder.
I have the Bauer and am delighted with the performance versus the price.
Nice! great value IMO
The Ridgid is very powerful and in a smaller form factor is a nice tool..especially if you're already in the battery platform
Yep good performance/size ratio. Probably benefit from that new 4ah tabless.
Great Video !!! Snap-on is NOT Going to be happy when they see this ! 😂 Snap on got Spanked HARD !

Thanks! I have the kobalt so far its done what I needed. But I don't use it very often.
No problem, yeah the kobalt seem like a good value.
I got the Bauer for like $22 as an open box with 20% off this week. A stupid good deal for any drill at that price. Tested it fine when I got home.
Wow you can’t beat that! I bought a large set of Icon Allen sockets with the 20% off open box.
I don't have any of the others, but I really like the Ridgid. Works great with wire wheels. And the LSA (lifetime-service agreement) is nice.
Nice! Seem like a good pick, yep the LSA is a good insurance policy.
I like the flexible head on that Bosch, but it really doesn't have much going for it in the performance department. Great set of tests, thanks for sharing the results.
Yeah I could see it coming in handy, but I do question durability.

Yeah I liked the size, but can see how its low on power from he testing.
Thanks! yeah I plan on testing the big right angles at some point.
M12 because I’m already in the system and have lots of batteries/chargers. Thank you for the review.
No problem!
Tools Tested !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Excellent !!!!!!! 💯👍
Thanks 👍
Great test as usual :) these need the upgrade asap yeah.

Yeah the Bauer is a cheap investment until Milwaukee or Dewalt decide to upgrade.

And once again kobalt is the best value, it'll be interesting to see what chervon cooks up for flex as far as right angle drills go. Great video!
Yeah cant to see a version from Flex. Thanks!
I have the Dewalt, it works for drilling out bolts etc in tight spots!
Yeah it performed well, just seems like they haven't refreshed it in ages.
It's crazy the craftsman is brushless.
@@Tools-Tested yeah it's an old model sometimes that's better though, i.e gen 4 milwaukee impact.

I agree. I have a DeWalt dcd130 drill as well, and it turns almost anything. I use it as a post hole digger with 6 and 12 inch augers.
Will do!

Yeah the m18 needs a update.
Can’t wait for the bigger ones at the end. I am using the Hercules as an auger
Yeah it should be interesting.
Waiting for that Hercules video 👍
Yeah, might be a little bit. The other brands of the larger drills are expensive, but hopefully I can test them before the end of the year.

Yeah seems like Rigid was last to the party, getting the upgrades.
Only thing that’s important is torque.
I agree, which a good portion of these are lacking.

Hello sir, do you usually use a polishing machine? I have a new batch of polishing machines recently. Would you be interested in helping me test them?
I've never understood why they don't bother to make a good angle drill. Personally they are the best formfactor that a drill could be.
Yeah seems like each OEM makes one and then never updates it.
