    There is a wrong explanation of the bank effect at 1:18. The bow sheers away from the closer shore not because of being pushed by bow pressure zone as explained in the video, but due to suction force acting somewhere abaft the amidships which is equivalent to a force acting aft of COG which also creates turning moment, deflecting the ships head away from the bank. This is called bank effect.

      Primarily, the bow pressure sheers the vessel away from the bank. The Bernoulli effect you are talking about is another factor, however, it's less prominent and tends to suck the entire ship toward the bank, however, adding some rotational force. Since the pivot point is forward of midships when making headway, this suction force overall does overall rotate the vessel that's abaft of the pivot point towards the bank.
      The COG "center of gravity" is not the fulcrum in this case, rather, it would be the pivot point.
